Jeff was awesome. That big windblown pine stump was a big job and I have a very steep terraced yard. Jeff arrived to give me an estimate and was able to do the work right at that time. Very nice and friendly! No payment required up front and left me the invoice on the porch.

Jeff was on time, did his estimate in minutes, and offered to work the same day. He worked fast yet carefully, doing everything requested and even took out some small bush stumps he spotted at no extra charge. He was polite, relaxed and didn't mind some fascinated children watching him work (from a safe distance). His price was about what I expected, and while I probably could have shopped around more and save a few minor bucks, I was just delighted to have the job done quickly and get it out of the way. Overall, a good experience and I would hire him again.

Initially, Jeff showed up to our house to take a look at what we were dealing with. He ended up having all the equipment necessary already with him so he just went straight to work! This was no easy job as it was a very tall tree that had fallen. The top half of the tree was already taken care of by the neighbor's insurance, but we still had the bottom quarter, including the root system that was now sticking out of the ground about 8 feet. Jeff attacked the issue head on and was able to cut up the rest of the tree and obliterate the stump and roots! He also took care of some stumps that were already in the back yard. It looks great now! Service was fast and spot on! We'd definitely do business with Jeff again (but honestly, we hope we have no more tree issues in the first place!). Jeff was super personable and as we were talking, even got a great recommendation on a local accounting firm that would be able to help us with our year end taxes! Thanks Jeff!

Met with Jeff in late December, he was on time, and provided a fair quote to remove a stump that was located in my backyard. I also asked him to provide a quote for stump removal work to be completed at one of my neighbors and he also provided a quote, and a discount, to do the work on the same date. After scheduling the work, another neighbor asked me if Jeff could also remove a stump for him, which I believe he did as well. I am very pleased with the work Jeff performed and how attentive he was to the job and clean up and would absolutely recommend his services. Should the need arise, I would definitely use him again. The back yard to my house is difficult to access with any major equipment due to the sloping of the lot and landscaping/stone steps. I probably called 4-5 stump grinding services and none were even willing to come by to look at my stump due to the issue with yard access. Jeff was more than willing. Once he arrived, he said there was no way he could bring in his usual stump grinding equipment but he offered to use some sort of a special hand-operated grinder that most companies don't have. He was extremely professional, arrived when he said he would, and cleaned up after his work. He even agreed to grind a little deeper than normal since I planned to plant large new trees in the same spot. I was very happy with his service and would not hesitate to use him again. All in all, very impressed!

Jeff is extremely polite and professional, very prompt and courteous. He is also extremely knowledgeable about trees! I had a couple trees taken out last spring and since one was in a back unused space, I let the tree guy leave the stump in that location. Unfortunately, it sprouted new growth and sent runners out with new trees coming up! Jeff took the stump out then pulled up as many of the roots as he could find. He used the stump grindings to spread over the areas where the roots were to prevent sunlight from getting to them and possibly start new growth again. Jeff explained everything to me and showed me what to watch for and how to take action if new sprouts showed up. I think his price was extremely fair, especially since he had to move some debris to get to a few of the sprouts, and he took the time to pull up as many roots as he could find, which was NOT part of the original bid! I would definitely use him again in the future if I have more problems, and I will highly recommend him to anyone who needs his services. He did a terrific job and I feel so much better now. He also gave me clues as who to contact for other work I need done, that he does not do. What a guy!

Many thanks to Jeff for providing an efficient, professional service experience! I had initially contacted a different local tree service that advertised stump grinding (now I know better!), and after 3 weeks of back and forth with them apparently not communicating well with their own people- they showed up on two different days with the wrong machine for the job-- I called them and cancelled the job order. I decided to try Stump Grinding NW and Jeff got back to me within the day when I called, and had the job done just a few days later. He kept me informed as to when he would be coming by, and billed me just what he quoted me. I couldn't be at home when he came to do the job, but that was fine and he just left me the invoice under my front door mat. Plus his price was a bit lower than the one quoted me by the other company-- I couldn't be more pleased with his service!

Jeff did a great job. I would recommend his service to anyone needing to grind a stump. He was prompt, professional, fast and provided some good advise on our yard. I will call him again next time I need to grind a stump.

Found Jeff Taylor's Stump Grinding NW on Angie's list. Liked reviews. Jeff responded that Monday to our voice mail. Exchanged Q&A.. Agreed. On Thursday 9:00 he was here at 8:45 to review job. Discussed our desires and we agreed on price. Had his equipment with and did the job immediately. Access to stumps was tight and one stump required some "balancing" to get machine in alignment. Jeff did our two stumps and was gone by 10:30. Great Vermeer equipment -- 1200 rpm 27 HP. Fast grinding with minimal noise. Would use Stump Grinding NW again. Jeff Taylor is both professional and personable. This was a pleasure. Wish I had done this five years ago. Thanks Jeff. === Previously, I tried to engage a stump grinder recommended by our tree contractor. After getting appt. after appt. cancelled went to Angie's List. The deadbeat stump grinder was not on Angie's list. Strong recommendation for using Angie's List.

The cost for Stump Grinding NW was more than other bids I received. However, I went with Jeff and his company because he was incredibly prompt and quick with service. I have been dealing with a number of different contractors and none have responded with the speed that Jeff did. I really appreciated this and decided that it was not worth waiting on other companies with a lower price because the service I was getting from Jeff was much better. Jeff called me back the day after I left a message for a bid, and went out that day, gave me a bid, and then when I accepted it he did the work that day! Very professional and friendly as well.

Jeff came out on the day of my call. The bid was less than I anticipated. He was done and out within an hour and a half. He was professional and cleaned up the mess around. If I could give an A+, I would. Definitely recommend this company!

It went smoothly and quickly. His business model is to show up, give the estimate and do the work right then. He doesn't need you to be there if he can reach you by phone, but I wanted to show him exactly what we needed, so he did good coordination with a general time frame and was well within that. We had gotten other estimates first so we would know whether his price was competitive and it was.

Professional, courteous, & responsive throughout the process. Made planning easy. Did a great job. Provided a quote and got down to work.

I called and spoke with Jeff's assistant on Saturday as Jeff was on the phone. She took my address, phone number, and the particulars of the work; then explained that Jeff would go on site and call me with an estimate. If I agreed, he would do the work then & there. That's exactly what happened. Jeff called me from the site, gave me a very reasonable proposal which I immediately accepted. We agreed that he'd leave an invoice on the porch, and the deal was done. When I got home after work I found two very neat piles of dirty chips... and no other evidence that someone had been there --no mess whatsoever. Jeff is fantastic. Professional, courteous, punctual and just an all around super nice guy. After leaving him a message with all the details he drove by and estimated the costs the same day and then called to relay the information. Husband was keen to do it himself and save the money but after pricing the grinder it was actually only about $100 more to have Jeff do the work. I called and left a message to schedule the work and Jeff called back promptly and came the next day. In the rain. With a cold. Cheerful. He was done within a short time and cleaned up the yard nicely. I would hire him again or recommend him without question. Clearly a guy who works hard and values service as a small business owner.

Jeff was very responsive, professional and personable. I called him on Monday and he was able to squeeze me in on Tuesday morning. He gave me an immediate estimate which was in line with 2 other Angie's list companies, so I went for it. He brought his equipment to the backyard without damaging any plants, took care of the tree stump in short order, and then cleaned up after himself. He was very personable during the work. I would definitely recommend him!

I called and left a message, later that day Jeff called back. He told me he would look at the job the next morning. If I accepted his bid he would do the work then. We met, I accepted his bit and the job was done. Jeff?s a nice guy, quick and neat.

It was all very simple. He arrived on time, ground the stump, and had the lowest price. Don't recall the date of service, but believe it was done in the second half of 2013.

Jeff was great. Responded to my inquiry right away, reviewed the site within a few days and then removed the stump and roots within a few days of that. He was very responsive, did what he said he would, and did a good job. Only gave a "fair" rating for price because it seemed like alot of money to me, but I didn't have any other bids to compare this cost to so it may have been at (or less than) other company's costs.

The owner (Jeff Taylor) responded the day after I signed up for his services via Angie's List email to confirm his availability on one of the three preferred dates I'd suggested along with the time of day I had chosen for the work to be done. I emailed right back and confirmed that the morning of 5/6/14 was great for me and answered his questions regarding the dimensions of the stump that I wanted removed as well as my contact information and where the work was to be performed. I was pleasantly surprised to receive his phone call within a very short time of my response and we discussed the details. When I asked him for a "guestimate" of the approximate price and mentioned I'd noticed he offered a Senior Discount, he was most accommodating, his price quote seemed to be within reason so I accepted his offer. He said he'd give me a call on the morning of the appt. to confirm his arrival time (which he did). He arrived on time, was very personable and professional and did a great job!! Jeff had been highly recommended by a professional garden designer. He returned my call promptly, we set a time and he arrived ahead of time. He asked us to show him what we wanted done, not just where o grind, but what we planned to do once the stumps were removed. He then quoted us a price, we agreed and he promptly went to work. When we set the appointment he told me that he would not be able to chip the trees, but would cut them into rounds. We agreed to cut and dispose of their branches. In other words he clearly set limits on what he could do and what our expectations should be. His working style is very precise; All trees were dropped parallel to each other, such that he could cut the trunks efficiently and leave their branches in a neat cluster, ends pointing the same direction. He'd already moved the stump grinder to the area, such that, rounds cut, he was grinding their stumps immediately. He used a shield to ensure debris was not scattered all over the garden. He confirmed with us in advance we intended to replant where the stumps had been, and ensured he chipped down enough to allow that to happen. I think he was finished in less than an hour, including using a yard blower, raking, and reloading the chipper on his truck. Frankly I like his way of doing business: when he comes, he'll quote the job and if agreed, he'lll do it right then and there. No return appointments, scheduling, etc..

Everything went smooth and quickly. Highly recommended.
