It went very well. They did everything within a schedule. They did a great job. We didn't have any problems with them showing up for the work. It was done kind of out of season. Normally they do that work in the spring and summer and we had them do it in the fall and it went without a hitch. They poured pretty much the whole backyard. We wanted a maintenance free backyard.

They came out to provide an estimate and gave us a menu of options to choose from. We came to agreement about the services and they scheduled the work. It was done on time, and very well. I would use them again.

Sia is the most courteous and professional contractor I have met, as was his crew. They worked so well together, you could tell they were experts and definitely knew what needed to be done that day. Sia and his crew were always on time, and worked until the job for that day was done. One night they stayed (in the rain) until after dark to make sure the new concrete was protected from the severe rain. The project itself turned out beautifully. Sia's bid was higher than three others, but after seeing all the hard work that went into making my concrete come out exactly as we wanted it, it was worth every penny. Sia explained everything he was going to do, and had suggestions about things that made the finished project better. There was a lot of water draining from the lawn to the driveway, when he explained we needed extra drains, he had already started installing them to fix the problem. The look of the front of our house is so incredibly different now, it doesn't even look like the same house in before and after pictures. I am so pleased with the way the project progressed, despite weather delays, and the final result. I can't thank Sia and his crew enough.

I couldn't be a happier customer! After 2 no-show contractors and 3 or 4 who never bothered to return our calls, we had almost given up hope. Thankfully, we found Sia's company and gave it one last chance. Sia was the consummate professional. He showed up right on time to review our project (a ~600sq ft detached garage pad that needed to be replaced) and had a quote to us along with his available dates within 24 hours. He was even able to shuffle us in earlier when weather prohibited him from doing other outside jobs! Sia and his crew got the entire job done in less than two days! With the exception of short lunch breaks, they worked non-stop, and Sia was right there every step of the way. They broke up the old pad and carted it all away, then smoothed out a gravel substrate the first day; on Day 2 they laid rebar, set up the necessary forms, a concrete truck arrived right on cue, and before I knew it - we had a beautiful new garage floor! Perfectly smoothed, with no more gaps under our massive garage door. They even made an attractive, graded strip across the front that leads down from the pad to the existing drive to make a smooth entry ramp and to keep rain from running in (leaves and water used to blow right under that door). Beautiful work!!! And all right on budget. They will be our first choice to replace our driveway as soon as our bank account allows! We recommend them highly.

Sia came by and measured the job then provided a quote the next day. The quote was very reasonable so we went ahead with the work. After a couple of days unavoidable delay in starting due to torrential rain, his crew (he has a tight-knit family operation) showed up as promised and did the whole thing in one day (setting up the forms, pouring the concrete, and smoothing everything). Sia himself came by the next day to finish up the part that had to be done after it was all set (power-washing to expose the aggregate) and it all looks great!

I don't know how Sia's competitors can stay in business when they don't follow through. After contacting a half dozen concrete repair outfits in the area and not being satisfied by their follow up, call backs, or estimates, we decided to go with Sia and his crew. and we are so glad we did! Sia was very responsive to my request for an estimate. He showed up as scheduled on a Saturday so that my husband could be here when he explained how he wanted to handle our problem. He answered all of my many questions, gave suggestions, and possible alternatives. When I had more questions I e-mailed him and he was very quick to respond. His professionalism was greatly appreciated. On the day we scheduled the work, Sia and his crew showed up before the scheduled time, which I really appreciated. They got started right away. They did a great job! I wish I had taken before and after photos. I would recommend Step up Concrete Construction to anyone that wanted a referral. We are very satisfied with the work they did for us. Thank you, Sia!

They were friendly, professional and efficient. We needed the job done quickly and at a reasonable price and Step-up Concrete was just the company for the job. Sia came by right away and sent us a quote and was able to work within our time frame. The crew showed up on-time and worked hard each day until the project was complete - about three days as promised. So it kept our overall project on time and the work was quality - it drains correctly, was properly reinforced and tied into our existing foundation.

I chose to work with Sia because he responded immediately to my call for an estimate; evaluated my site and scope clearly and professionally; composed a competitive estimate for the scope of services; and found opportunity to meet my preferred timeline within his already busy schedule. Although the concrete is currently curing, I feel confident in saying that the pad appears to be of good quality. Sia's team worked quickly, completing all work over the course of two days. Originally, it was only supposed to take one day, but unavailability of the concrete delayed completion by a day, which Sia clearly communicated on arrival on day one. On both work days, I called Sia to confirm the time of his team's arrival. He responded to my calls promptly, which I appreciate. One recommendation I might make to Sia is to place confirmation calls to his clients before work days, to confirm timelines. I would also recommend that his team communicate with any present occupants when leaving the site, just to help us understand when we should anticipate their return, etc. Based on the overall experience, these aren't complaints, only recommendations that could elevate a good experience to A+ levels.

Sia was very punctual and professional. He was the first to contact me back and get out to perform the estimate. We had an existing 8'x9' aggregate patio that we wanted to extend to make 16'x17'. Initially we wanted two quotes...one to match the existing patio and one for a stamped concrete patio to overlay the existing. Sia pointed out some things that were wrong with our existing patio as did the other contractors that came in so decided to give me a third quote that would be overlaying the entire patio with aggregate. Option one was matching and extending which was quoted at $2000. Option two was overlaying the existing patio and extending with aggregate which was $2500. Option three was overlaying the existing patio and extending with stamped concrete which was $3000. Overall, his prices were inline with what I ended up receiving from most others. However, I felt he kind of just threw numbers out. There is hardly any additional labor or materials needed for option two but it increased $500. The main reason I chose not to go with Sia is because every contractor that I brought out said it was a bad idea to overlay the existing patio. They explained that it would create a void and eventually cause the top layer to crack or chip in due time. I am sure that by Sia's professionalism and punctuality that the quality of his work is good but I was not willing to take a chance.

Tree roots had broken up portion of concrete driveway. Reasonable estimate was provided promptly including suggestion about repair of adjacent broken piece of parking area. Old concrete broken out and roots cut out and hauled away. Gravel installed and compacted, rebar fitted and 6 sack mix concrete poured with broom finish. Adjacent section of parking area replaced with matching "washed aggregate" finish. All work and cleanup professionally done. We are very pleased with the results.

I did not use this company for the job. However, I say my experience with Sia who came out to see my property was excellent. He was the only representative from the companies I contacted who came out to see the job site before he offered me a bid. Very professional in how everything was handled. His bid was very competitive but on the higher side. He was willing to negotiate but ultimately I went with a different company based on both schedule of when it could be done and costs. Although in how things have gone with the other company I may be regretting. If another project came up I would definitely contact Sia again.

We have been very impressed with the professionalism and expertise of Sia and his crew. From the start, they have been on time, courteous and great to work with. We were experiencing some difficulty with our design plan for our new patio and stairs and were very grateful for their input. They obviously have a lot of experience and a great eye for design! We obtained bids from four other companies and Step Up's was significantly better than all the others. They are thorough and conscientious. We will definitely recommend them to others who are considering this type of home improvement. Can't wait til summer to really enjoy our beautiful new outdoor living space!

It went very well. I am a picky landscape designer. Sia came out to give me a bid right away. He was pleasant and flexible and answered all my questions. His crew straightened the water shut off to make it fir in with the paving, which was hard to do and, was something they did without charging extra. He just wanted it to look good and it does! I would hire him again and refer him to my clients.

Gave good bid. Was punctual, thorough, complete. Cleaned up nicely. Very satisfied with the work.

Sia and team provided a no-cost consultation and timely quote. We immediately scheduled a time for the work to be done. Sia and team showed up on time and completed the work in a very timely and professional manner. In addition, the cost was MUCH less than any other quotes I received. Don't look any further as Sia and team will complete the job with the highest regard for cost, schedule, and quality.

The work was quick and clean. Sia and Tony are both very personable, and I learned that they work on anything you need on he exterior of your home, from the rooftop all the way to the bottom (excluding electric and gas).

Sia was wonderful. He contacted me almost immediately and after a site visit, sent the quotation via email. When I accepted it, he called and the work was done in a couple of days after they finished another project. Contractor was polite, punctual and did the job. They were not the lowest price, but were the most responsive and professional.

After receiving bids from several people (I found most of them on Angie's List, including this one), I accepted the bid from Step Up as the lowest. They were well-rated on this site and I therefore thought it worth the risk to accept a bid that was much lower than the others. However, the first time around the owner did not closely supervise the person making the form and the stairs turned out visibly crooked and of uneven heights, to the point where I considered them not only unsightly but unsafe. However, I listened to their explanation and accepted their offer to redo the stairs. Now, one would think that under these circumstances, they would have been at great pains to do a perfect job but, if so, they must be rather inexperienced in the making of steps. The result was what I would call acceptable, though by no means as neat or even as I might have expected from a company that deals with concrete professionally. Still, the second time around they are safe and to code, so I'm going to call it good. Sia, the owner, is a pleasant and responsible person; I just think he's still a bit inexperienced. Though I don't know a whole lot about concrete steps, I am aware that they are difficult to do well. I feel fairly certain that this company would be quite capable of doing a fine job on the flat. For one thing, the panel at the top of the stairs and the resurfacing job were absolutely flawless from the start.

I bought a new car that was really low to the ground and our old, cracked driveway was so sloped I couldn't get the car through the driveway without the underside scraping. Sia was confident that he could regrade the driveway and that would allow seamless access to our garage. Incidentally, most of our guests had similar scraping issues when they attempted to use our driveway. Sia was right on time the day he promised and he and his crew did all demolition, regrading, and pouring in just two days. I couldn't have been more impressed with the quality of work and the price. In fact, I have suggested to my brother-in-law, a General Contractor who owns Raincap Construction, to use Sia for all is future projects that require concrete work. My brother-in-law, after seeing my finished driveway, said he will giving Sia a call.

Sia is excellent to work with. He came out to my house in Everett even though he lives in Des Moines, WA, quite a drive for him. I agree with him, you have to go where the job is. I hired Sia to extend my driveway to the right side of my house so that I can use it as extra parking spot. Sia came out with two of his crew members on a Monday, started at 9AM and they got the job done by 5PM. The area is about 15' X 26". They removed beauty bark, applied a layer of rocks, compacted the ground, installed rebar to hold the cement, then poured concrete / exposed aggregate. Overall they did an excellent job. They worked hard and worked fast. Quality is top notch. I highly recommend Sia of Step Up Concrete and yes I would hire him again next year to do the side of my house to use as patio.

Sia was in the area and arrived just 30 minutes after the initial call to take a look at our space for the estimate. He walked us through what he would propose doing in a clear manner, and did not rush through the process. The actual estimate was emailed to us the next day. Although we decided not to perform the work at this time, due to our budget, his estimate was in line with others we had talked to and we really appreciated his responsiveness, advice, and demeanor.

I called Step Up Concrete and my call was quickly returned. Sei came out and showed me pic of jobs he'd done and we reviewed the work I wanted . I had a quote the next day, which I agreed to. They started the concrete removal within a few days, which they broke out manually, with sledge hammers! Quickly! Strong guys! The drive and walks look great, better than I'd expected. I'm really glad I had the work done. They used rebar embedded in the concrete to make it stonger, which the 1957 work did not have. They were quite careful of my flower beds during demo and install, tip toeing around the baby plants. They cleaned up everything when they were done. I have no criticisms at all. Great job! I'll definitely call them again for other work I have in mind.
