We didn't really see the actual work and how he was doing it in the process. The outcome is good; but, we don't know if we could tell if he really removed the existing concrete that was there before. We were thinking that he didn't, but there's no way for us to know that since we weren't there. We would tell others to be there when they are doing the work.

Sia came out to a property that we were in the process of purchasing to give us a bid for a cement ramp we needed built. He was very thorough, he asked us questions regarding what we needed and answered all of our questions. He was prompt and professional. Unfortunately the sale of the property did not go through. However, we would definitely ask Sia to bid on another job for us if given that opportunity again.

Step Up Concrete & Construction did an awesome job. Sia was so responsive in all aspects of the project. They were on time (actually early) and right on budget. I have already recommended them to dozens of people.

Overall we are very pleased and are enjoying using the new basketball court.

We were very impressed with the prompt response and the quick work date and completion date. Sia was very pleasant to work with. we are pleased with the patio for the most part. It is large, level, the finish is consistent and it appears to be well done. This is a significant amount of money: With that, I would expect a nearly perfect product. There are scrape marks in the finishing, and although cleanup was in the contract, there was a lot concrete in the garden, a large section of grass was killed, and there was a lot of splatter on the fence and the house by the hose. Again, nothing major but still not as expected. We also requested a conduit under the patio for a future hot tub, which was also listed in the contract. The conduit was NOT done despite being included in the contract, no financial adjustment was made and although returning to do an external conduit was mentioned, it did not happen. An important point about this transaction: The work was completed when we were out of town. If I had been home to monitor the proecess the outcome may have been different. As I noted previously, because we are happy with the patio, we would work with them again, but I would also make it a priority to be home. In spite of these issues, which are ultimately minor, we do love our patio and it has provided wonderful family time.

Getting a bid was quick. I called in the morning and Sia came that afternoon to look at the areas. He emailed me his bid that night (side note: when I didn't see his bid in my inbox the next morning, I checked my Spam folder and sure enough his email was there). I chose Step Up Concrete because it was recommended by another concrete company that's ranked in the top 5 in Angie's List, but they were booked all summer. And, also because Step Up's bid was the lowest one. From the time I called to accept the bid, they were able to schedule us in within 2 days. They told me that it would take 2 days to do the work and they were done in 2 days. On the first day, we found out that there were a couple sprinkler heads that needed to be relocated. Sia and Tony were very accommodating and reschedule the second visit to allow me enough time to have the sprinkler heads moved. The concrete is still drying. It looks great and matches the existing driveway's finish.

The cement patio, elevated sidewalk, and brick wall were installed in a dirt covered area adjacent to the south side of our home, which had previously been the site of an old, unused hot tub. The project to install the patio, walkway, and brick wall went very quickly, with no problems. I highly recommend this company to anyone interested in having cement and/or ornamental brick work done.

The owner, Sia and foreman, Tony are commited to customer service and satisfaction. As with any construction job, there are challenges, adjustments and unforeseen issues. At every unexpected turn, they communicated and presented alternative resolutions that were satisfactory. They are hard working and alway willing to go the extra mile.

Sia and his crew showed up on time and finished earlier than expected. Sia explained everything he was going to do in detail and when we had any concerns, he explained it again. He's a very nice man and he kept to his word.
