As people who know the value of hard work and doing business with integrity, we love being able to provide extra savings through the deals we post on Angie's List. However we want to give a friendly reminder to all to please be sure that to fully read and understand any and all deals before purchasing. They fixed a leaky outdoor frost-free faucet. The plumber was able to take apart faucet and use parts from his truck to repair the leak. I was pleased we did not have to pull out whole pipe from wall (which would have been extra because of brick and frost-free design).

At first, we had a few communication issues, which might be due to the fact that I am fairly new to Angie's list. The company sent me a message on Angie's List to say that they had scheduled me for a particular date. That date did not work for me, so I emailed back to ask to reschedule, but did not hear back from them. They then apparently came on the original date (which still didn't work for me) and no one was home. They left a note on the door, so I wrote back to tell them to please call me to reschedule. They did this and we rescheduled. Although they came a little later than I was expecting, the person who came, Mike, was very knowledgeable, personable and professional. He took a look at our spigot (which leaked) and concluded that the nut just needed to be tightened (which he proceeded to do). Based on the brief experience, I would likely call them again if I need plumbing services.

Then when I decided that my need was dire I tried to schedule their work, but they said they were backed up more than a month out. So they gave me a scheduled work date, but then they never confirmed it despite numerous emails and they never noted whether or not they would honor an expired voucher (which only expired because they were so backed up). They were very unprofessional from beginning to end and I am thankful I never used their services.
Description of Work: It went really poorly. They came out and gave some estimates, but their prices were very very high compared to all their competitors, so my coupon was only a drop in the bucket to begin with.

I bought this as an Angies list deal. That should say enough; i have found that I typically get better responsiveness and better scheduling from Angie's list providers, with less price hagglilng, that I contact directly. This ins't a bad thing, but I believe that these providers are getting swamped with the deals that they sell. For me, it took the provider a month to get me into their schedule; I talked to the Journeyman when arrived and he mentioned that he's been doing four or five of these a day plus his other scheduled work. Good for them, somewhat frustrating for me. When the day of instalation arrived they showed up on the early part of their time window (this is a great experience - it seems everytime a service provider gives me a time window they always arrive on the very back end of it.). The journeyman was VERY polite, VERY professional; he was courteous, dressed professionally, and took time to explain things when I asked questions. The one frustration was finding out that the deal i bought wasn't going to cover the repaiir I wanted. In order to replace the spiggot the tech had to cut into dry wall inside my garage. I'm no plumber - if the guys tells me it must be so, I presume he knows what he's talking about - and the repair would have been more difficult wiithout cutting intot he wall and replacing part of the pipe. After he told me this was required, he showed me the book rate for the drywall cut and pipe replacement (we're talking about a 12 inch length of 1/2" copper pipe) and labor and parts for this "additional work" added up to almost twice as much as the deal I originally purchased. He also informed me that the deal I bought didn't include the freeze seal version (the one that doesn't burst if it fails) which was more money - this one I understand, but still more frustrating. Seeing as the whole repair took him right at a 1/2 hour and seeing as I'd already paid $99 for the deal I purchased, that "book price" worked out to a little over $500 a hour (parts and labor) after the additions. Laywers should be so lucky. Having already waited a month to get the repair and having no other alternative presented, it was basically down to do it or don't do it - so i paid the extra money to getit done. This was very frustrating to have a situation where the quick repair that I purchased on Angies List ended up costing me three times as much as the original deal. I felt like I was being taken to the cleaners and forced to pay more BECAUSE this was an Angie's List "deal". So I'm torn - the gentleman who represented the company was great - he was very professional in all aspects. On the flip side, I felt like I was being massaged for more money in order for them to not lose so much on the deal that they sold (the tech showed me that the "regular" price before "Upgrades" is $475 per spiggot). He was quick to show me how I had "Saved" money over that price - but it didn't feel like a savings aftering trippeling the cost once he arrived.
Description of Work: Replaced an out door spiggot that had popped it's freeze seal .

We opted to not have this faucet replaced. It is soldered in and the area around the faucet is stucco. We determined that the extent of the leak was not great enough to risk damaging the stucco.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were very good. There was one little issue. I had a leak under my sink and after they repaired that, my dishwasher didn’t work. There were a few glitches with their service but it’s more around I think that it is the strangeness of the building that I live in. All the water to the entire building has to be turned off before plumbing work can be done. So the first time they came, there was a little bit of mixed up on the timing and so there wasn’t time to turn off the water and then I had to reschedule. There was a little issue with scheduling. I’m not entirely blaming it on them. I think there was some confusion about what was needed with turning off the water in the building. However, when the guy was here, he was great. He was very pleasant and he was professional. He fixed the problem and came back at no charge a week later to turn my dishwasher back on. The price was good. The price was good.

The spigot had unexpectedly stopped working for no apparent reason. There was nothing wrong with the valve, and yet no water came out. After examining it thoroughly and seeing no reason for it not to work, he said there had to be a shut-off valve someplace that was turned off. Eventually we found it in the back room of the basement. Voila! Water restored. He went ahead and installed a new, easy-turn valve. I wish I had hired a plumber sooner.

They did good work but due to things that didn’t work out well or perfectly with me and with them and Angie’s List, there’s a little bit of disappointment in there as well. One of the things that did not show up on the list is basically it was to pay $120 for $200 worth of plumbing work and I was surprised right at the end to be presented with a bill for $50 when they were here for like 30 minutes. I didn’t have any more work for them to do. I thought that I would buy them but I was busy but this $50 travel charge wasn’t mentioned anywhere and I was surprised to see it and that was kind of an unpleasant surprise. On a minor job, they did good work. They were late but that was at least partially due to traffic which was not a surprise at that particular hour. They did the work well and they cleaned up after themselves. There was some misinformation on my part. I was expecting a phone call back and they messaged me via Angie’s List and by the time I realized that’s how they are going to do it, several days gone lapsed but that was my problem and not theirs.

I purchased the Big Deal for an outdoor faucet replacement for $99.00. Contractor informed me that I had a "frost free" faucet and it would be way more money to replace that the $99.00 coupon price. After researching what that exactly means, I discovered that most homes have "frost free" system, meaning that the connection lines are inside the wall, to keep pipes warmer. I also discovered that MOST houses have the lines in the wall, and most faucet replacement require extensive work to cut out sheetrock, etc..... The $99.00 price is quite misleading, as I would assume that 90% of homes contractor visits, will require that extra work. The term "bait and switch comes to mind." Other than that, they were friendly and courteous.

Michael arrived as scheduled to install the outdoor faucet, as part of the big deal, and fix a leaky bathtub faucet, separate from the big deal. Upon looking at the outdoor faucet, it appeared as if it might require more work than anticipated, i.e. going into the wall, moving our washer and dryer, etc., so I opted not to proceed on that project. However, Michael did repair the bathtub faucet as planned and I paid him for that work separate from what I paid for the big deal.

While the service itself was fine, everything leading up to the gentleman's arrival was not. We regrettingly used one of Angie's List's coupons where you pay for the service before actually scheduling a service date. That is a mistake that we won't make again. The way those coupons work is that you pay Angie's List for the service first, and then you contact the plumber. This is not a good system if you want something done in a timely manner. This is our fault for using Angie's List's coupon service and Angie's List's fault for creating this illogical system. Angie's List asks you to input three available times. Since our sink didn't work, we wanted it fixed quickly. We entered the next three available business days; however, we weren't even contacted until a few days after our requested service dates. Once we did get a hold of them, they said they wouldn't be able to come for several weeks. We wanted someone to fix the problem sooner than that because our sink was out of order. The plumbing company responded to us via email at 11:00PM a few days later and said they could come at 8:00AM the next morning. Of course, we didn't read that email because it came so late. So, we were quite surprised when someone showed up at our house at 7:50AM. I was in the shower at that time, not expecting them. I hadn't confirmed this time, but I was home, so he came in and removed the clog from our pipe successfully.
Description of Work: Removed a clog (hair, apparently) from our bathroom sink. The clog was past a bend that we couldn't get to with our available tools.

The plumber was pleasant, professional, and stayed until he figured out and solved the problem. The cost was fair for several hours of work, and we had prepurchased a deal on Angie's List. The only downside was that it took the company longer than expected to schedule the appointment, but it was not an emergency so that was a minor detail. I would definitely use them again.

It was a good experience. They came out and we were told by another Angie's List Company that the reason there was an odor in the crawl space of my daughter's condominium and she has a first floor condo once because of the great water leak and that they couldn't do really anything until after that leak was repaired. The fellow found the leak and it was more than $200 worth of service so we actually ended up paying quite a bit like around $450 to get it repaired. Everything went well except I paid a cost. I would use them again.

I shopped for my own disposal (an inInsinkorator) because the ones they carried on their trucks were not rated very highly. Pro: King County Sewer, Drain and Plumbing came to our house on time, diagnosed the issue, and provided the right service Con: They charged us at a much higher rate for every repair than their competition in order to offset the Angies List deal they are giving. For example, for changing out the water measuring device on our Toto Drake 2 toilet with a non-OEM part, they charged $253.81. I called 2 other plumbers and they gave me quotes between $100-$150 for a non-OEM part installation. For changing out the flapper, they originally charged us $34.28 until we complained - at which point they took it off the invoice. Furthermore, because the actual work itself did not take much time (~30 min), in order to give the impression that they're working, they spent lots of time in the van dawdling. The work itself is easy for any plumber. It does not take an hour or more. Everything should have been covered in the Angies List deal we paid of $200 worth of work. Conclusion: Overall, I think this company gives out Angies List deals and then charges consumers at much higher rates for individual repairs to offset the discount they're giving you.
Description of Work: Fixed water measuring device on Toto Drake 2 toilet, replace a flapper and tightened a few faucets. Charged us $253.81 for just the water measuring device, which is $100-$150 more than the competition.

We appreciate your review. We do not charge higher prices to offset the cost for the angies list discount. We use a national flat rate price guide. It costs to run a company. There is insurance, license fees, bonds, vehicle maintenance, materials, fuel, Equipment, tools, advertising, angies list fees etc. Most companies charge a service fee of $75 and up. Ours is $50. Some companies do time and material and will take three times as long to do the job. We are not the cheapest company but we definitely are not the most expensive. We do however provide our customers with excellent service, we honor our work, and if there is ever a problem we do our best to resolve it. Thank you. We appreciate your business.
