Description of Work: After contacting IHS he came out and looked things over and told me he would send me a quote. He did and it was too high for my budget. So he did NOTHING and I am out $500.00!!! Description of Work: Communication, scheduling, and experience is poor!!! It took a month to get someone to come out and then the two men arrived without a ladder. They Had no idea what they were supposed to do and admitted that they had never performed one of the jobs before, but "it shouldn't be hard to cut a hole in an exterior wall." I wasn't going to allow an inexperienced person to experiment on my home. I asked Annie's list for a refund.

Description of Work: Tiled bathroom shower and put shower walls and door up. This included the prep work to make the walls level and prepped.

Description of Work: We had eight hours of service. The carpenter did what we asked, then said, "If you get this I can do this" several times. We were fixing up a house to sell and he did way more than we thought could be done. We were extremely pleased.

Description of Work: Couldn't get on the schedule in time.

Description of Work: It was difficult to contact the owner of the company. He would take days, sometimes weeks to respond. Ed Novion would give me dates/hours for two men to come out with extremely short notice - one night before (notification was by e-mail instead of by phone) and the time was for early in the morning. Eventually Ed stopped responding to my e-mails and calls.

Description of Work: IHS did various small jobs such as repairing broken doors and cabinets and installing some shelves. They were prompt, courteous and professional.

Description of Work: We exchanged emails IHS was very responsive at first. Finally scheduled an onsite visit for an estimate on the additional work since the work needed to be done would be longer than the coupon. IHS came out said they would send me an estimate for the rest of the work and would be able to perform the work in a month. I never received the estimate and haven't heard from them since. This has been over two weeks ago.

Description of Work: I bought the Big Deal $299 for 8 hours of carpentry labor. When I originally set up the appointment I was asking them to do one job, but a friend came over and completed that. When I called them to ask if I could change the project, they had no problem with it. They came in and put up three walls. They were fast and did a great job! I would definatly recommend them.

Description of Work: The gentleman who runs this business was so professional and talented. Two of his men put a window in, leaving it seamless and tidy. It looks fabulous. I will definitely work with Ed again. I would recommend this company 100%!

Description of Work: One double gate built and installed with hardware. I supplied all materials. One single gate finished and installed.

Description of Work: Before buying the Angie's BIG DEAL my wife called and talked to the merchant to make sure cleaning out the house crawl space was something they'd do. He didn't give any indication it wasn't after she described what we needed and that this could open the door for more home repair/work that we need (there's a lot to be done on this house we bought last year). The crawl space had been opened to critters for who-knows-how-long and a lot of the insulation had been torn down, air ducts for the furnace torn down and/or disconnected, vapor barrier either not there or ripped and torn up, etc. The person was over an hour late getting to our house on the day of the appointment and was completely unprepared for the work at hand. Don't know if he forgot or his boss failed to tell him but he wasn't happy about the prospect of cleaning out all the damaged junk from under the house and had to make a trip to Lowe's to get a mask, light, and body suit. He did complete the job and was a very nice man. But being so late without even a phone call with a reason, being unprepared for the task at hand (who's fault doesn't really matter as it all reflects bad on the company), and the need of our help to move the debries from the crawl space entrance do not add up to a good grade from us.

Description of Work: IHS Contractors completely remodeled all three bathrooms in my home. The master bath was complely gutted and new flooring, vanities, lighing, toilet, fan and a new tile shower with glass doors was installed. In the hall bath the bathtub remained but new flooring, vanity, lighting, toilet and fanlight was installed. The work in these two baths was staggered so that one working shower remained. The third bathroom is a bath/laundry room combination off of the garage. This was the last of the project. In this room only the toilet and vanity were replaced. The counter tops in all three baths are granite with undermount sinks and the flooring is marmolium with maple vanities.
