Description of Work: it was awhile ago, but they did a good professional job. the only bad thing was an accidently broken light bulb which they left in the socket and I had to remove with a potato.

+ -1 moreAfter purchasing the deal, I contacted the company and finally scheduled a date to do the work. I emailed back closer to the agreed upon date (offered by the provider) and asked what time to expect them, but did not hear back and they did not show on the scheduled day. I subsequently emailed to inquire about it and to set up another time, but have not heard back. Soooo, no work has been done, and I haven't heard anything from the company about why that is, or about setting up a new time. Given the lack of contact and followthrough I have to give them low marks, which is unfortunate.
Description of Work: I purchased 4 hours of cleaning as an Angie's List Big Deal.

+ -1 moreI purchased a voucher for 4 hours of housecleaning services for $95. I forgot about the voucher. When I finally remembered, the voucher had expired the previous month. I sent Great Cedar Cleaning a message thru angie's list and asked if they would consider still honoring the voucher. I would have understood had they said no. I think a quality professional would have offered a discounted service. I didn't even get the consideration of a reply. Great Cedar ignored my message. Too bad for them. I was in the market for a cleaning service and they lost out on the opportunity of a weekly customer. I've since found a company I like...with great customer service.
Description of Work: I did not get the deal purchased. I forgot about the voucher and it expired.

+ -1 moreSince I did not have the service provided, I can only say that the experience was unsatisfactory. I don't see myself purchasing another Big Deal from Angie's List. There doesn't seem to be any recourse if the provider fails to provide the service. Perhaps Angie's List should more closely review the service provider's abilities to perform and be sure the provider has a 'Plan B' in place for situations such as this.
Description of Work: I had never used a housecleaning service. I was having some work done on the interior and wanted to hire a company to clean the interior woodwork and trim. I was having some work done on the interior of the house and needed some help getting everything cleaned up. I purchased the Big Deal on Angie's List. I tried contacting Great Cedars Cleaning by phone and by email, but never received a response. Out of frustration, I looked at the reviews online and found that I was not the only one having problems contacting the company. I did read that the owner had had some health issues and wasn't able to take on any additional work. I never received a response from Great Cedars Cleaning and ended up doing all the clean up myself. The deal expired without me ever successfully contacting the company.

+ -1 moreWe've had several companies perform the "4 hours of cleaning" at our place, and Great Cedars did a fine job, on par with the others. There was nothing exceptional, but the house was indeed cleaned as described and looked great afterwards, and scheduling with them was painless. Definitely was worth the money.

She gave me hints on how to keep things in good shape, like using a toothbrush on grout in the shower. I thought her prices were very fair on the two occasions she came to my home.

I did have the work scheduled two different times and they canceled both of these appointments. I had to get the deal refunded recently, about a year later.

Description of Work: Never got to use the purchased services. When I went to schedule, I got an email that the person was gravely ill and not able to schedule for the forseeable future. I tried back again and got no answer. If true, I am sympathetic, but makes me really doubt purchasing deals like this again.

+ -1 more, I purchased a coupon for house cleaning, but made the mistake of not checking reviews beforehand, as the writing was already on the wall. Well, maybe they would be different, and besides I already committed. One of the complaints was lack of responsiveness, so I emailed them right away and was firm with a deadline to respond. Elizabeth responded within a few days. I had a day committed to, August 10. It was a bit in the future, since she didn't have anything available until August 1st, and I think this was July. I was a little apprehensive that I didn't get a confirmation email (she only communicates by email - the phone number is a recording). She never showed or called. Thankfully, I immediately contacted Angie's List, and got a refund.

+ -1 moreI purchased a big deal. On April 4th, 2012, I emailed them to make an appt. Elizabeth was having some health issue, couldn't provide the service until July 3rd. On April 11th, I finally scheduled an appt for her to clean my house on July 3rd, 2012. Then came the July 3rd, she never showed up. I called and left messages. She didn't call back. I then sent an email on July 19th asking to get it done as soon as possible. Never heard from her.... I like to have my refund.

+ -1 moreEvery time the woman bent over to clean a floor or scrub something, her thong showed above her jeans. It was rather unprofessional. I think my personal preference is to hire a cleaning service from someone with a more professional attitude rather than just a low price.
Description of Work: The woman and her boyfriend arrived on time to clean the house. They were dressed in grubby t-shirts and jeans. We negotiated which rooms to clean for the allotted time and price. We chose to deep clean the master bath and the kitchen, including cleaning the oven. The work was completed and both rooms were cleaner than I've ever seen them.

When I did come p with a date far in advance they just emailed back with another offer of a date. I found someone who was more responsive. I'm giving them a D instead of an F because I just gave up and stopped trying so it might have been that we could have reached an agreement on a time but it took way too much effort. Obviously I cannot rate how their actual performance would be. Must be pretty good if they are too busy for new customers. This was the second time this happened to me with this company.

+ -1 moreOverall I was very happy with the deep clean completed...and would strongly recommend them for a big clean up job...say if you were moving in to a new place or out of your current place.
Description of Work: Cleaning of small house; two bedroom, one bath. I have to say they did a killer job...they got spaces spotless that I didn't know could come clean like the fronts of my kitchen cabinets and on top of the fridge, etc. Really yucky spots that I'd never clean. They used all natural cleaning supplies that worked great. Very professional. However, they were expensive.
