 + -1 moreWell, Mr. Loftin arrived to estimate the job exactly when he said, and left a very detailed written estimate. I asked the company for a weekend appt. and they gave it to me. The two men arrived, started immediately, very professional and polite, cleaned up after, and were packed up before I knew it. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Pete has been with the company for 20 years, and he told me more that I needed to know about insulating my house, and I appreciated all he said.
Description of Work: The company added approx. 11" more insulation to the attic floor, connected the bathroom fan to its own roof vent, and added 2 more roof vents.

 + -1 moreEiner Johanson came highly recommended. They where the last of 4 estimates I received and were the best. I was told that they had recently changed suppliers because of delays caused by their old supplier. The window removal and installation went great. The old windows were hauled away and what little mess they created was cleaned and everything put back in place. I am very happy with the windows and the entire experience.
Description of Work: Replacement of 5 windows. 2 large living room picture windows, 2 dining room widows and 1 kitchen window.

 + -1 moreIt went very well. Their estimator was professional and personable. The 2 guys doing the insulation were on time and worked swiftly and carefully. There was an attic where they couldn't blow in the insulation so they cut a hole in the wall and crawled in and put up insulation against the walls. They did a great cleanup job. They missed one wall, so I called Brian after they left. He found a time for them to come out for a quick additional bit of insulating without any hassle at all. While they were here finishing the missed wall they checked an area they'd done and decided they could add more insulation, so they added more. I can see why they've been in business for so long. My house is old and we probably released some lead dust from underlying layers of paint. I'd try to avoid this if I had it to do over again.
Description of Work: They blew cellulose and fiberglass insulation into walls. The house has asbestos siding, so they had to drill holes on the inside walls of about 45% of the exterior walls.

 + -1 moreThey worked very quickly. They returned my calls and gave good answers to my questions. They were very honest and they worked with the power company for me to get $400 in credits-back because of the energy star standard, which is effective energy usage. I was quite pleased with the work they did and they were very knowledgeable. They got here on time. They cleaned up after themselves, but not extremely clean because they are not a cleaning company. I would recommend them.
Description of Work: Einer Johanson went up in my attic and placed protective barriers around the light fixture that came through the ceiling. They blew in insulation and laid a cellulose barrier on top of the joists to seal in the insulation in half a day.

 + -1 moreEinar Johanson Insulation and Glass provided an excellent service and high quality work. The work was completed on time and in a professional manner. The price is a little high, but their attention to detail in their work made it worth it.
Description of Work: They removed 12 windows and disposed of them. There were two 10 square foot windows, four 20 square foot windows and six 16 square foot windows. They replaced these windows with fiberglass framed windows.

They removed the old ones for me and put in the new ones. They were very professional and friendly. I thought their price was very reasonable and fair. I will definitely use them for future jobs.
Description of Work: They replaced 12 windows in my house. This included a sky wall in the kitchen and 2 sliders in the house. They also insulated them.

Since we had a new baby, they gave us priority which was very nice. Their price was competitive compared other companies. We will call them again when we redo our windows.
Description of Work: The attic in our home which measures 864 square feet needed insulation installed. They installed it via tube, which were basically mess-free using small holes in the wall.

 + -1 moreTwo men were sent out within two days of our accepting the bid we had received. They arrived on time, worked well together and were responsive to my questions. We decided to change how a portion of the work would be done. This resulted in a reduction of our bid by $100. The work was all completed to our satisfaction in less than a half of a day. The lead excessively raised his voice to my wife when he explained why the change was made to what was to be done over the hole over the stairwell ceiling. His helper was less than professional in his demeanor while doing the work. The lead explained things to us then the helper interrupted us to explain the same discussion again after we had already agreed what with was going to be done.
Description of Work: First an employee came out in a very short time after our call. He seemed very knowledgeable in the work required. The bid was completed and handed to us within an hour. The work involved blowing in fiberglass insulation into the attic. The old insulation had already been removed.

 + -1 moreI was informed it would likely be five or six weeks before the windows could be installed. Eleven week elapsed before I had any contact from the Company. I then received a letter from the Company indicating that bad weather conditions had slowed down extensively the crews. The Operations Manager said that he would contact me within 3 weeks with an update on the schedule . Three weeks and more went by and again not a word. I called and talked directly with the Operations Manager. We then agreed that the windows would be installed on Monday morning, January 15th. Further, I was to receive a call between 8:30 and 9:30 on the 15th from the Company office telling me that a crew was on its way. Again, no call. We then set up another appointment, this time on Saturday, January 20th to have the windows installed. I asked the Operations Manager to call and confirm the Saturday appointment on Friday, January 19th. He agreed. Friday came and went, no communication.
Description of Work: Replaced four basement windows with vinyl frames and commercially rated insulated glass; new screens. Caulked and weather stripped. The existing windows were removed and trucked away. New windows were washed and jobsite left clean.

 + -1 moreService was fine. We are insulated to R38 now. The gas company offered a discount of $300 so our actual cost ($730) was the same as the 1000 sq. ft. of insulation purchase price at the local Home Depot. It took just two hours for two men to do the job.

 + 0 moreThe salesperson was very professional and knew his subject. We were able to order windows exactly as we liked. The windows took a long time to come in and install. I'm not sure which one took so long. However, we were warned before that it could take a long time. They installed them very quickly with minimal mess, considering 17 windows were put in. One of the screens was faulty and they immediately ordered a replacement for free. I really don't know how they compare price wise to other companies. I researched this company and wanted them to install the windows.

 + -1 moreAmazingly, one friendly, professional guy did it all! He arrived on time, and was very careful to keep debris out of the apartments throughout the job. All old frames and glass were removed and disposed of. He saved several pieces of old frosted bathroom glass that we had hoped to keep, even though it took a bit more of his time. Our nice, new windows were in place, caulked and washed in two days. After a rain, he made a quick return check to be sure the "weepers" (little slots for water drainage in slider tracks) were working okay. The new windows look great, and have made a big difference in keeping outside noise, heat, and cold out.
Description of Work: Replaced old single pane aluminum windows with new double pane vinyl windows in our 1959 duplex.

 + -1 moreI did not get a call after my initial e-mail (straight from angie's list) but when I called, I got an appt. with the estimator right away. The work was scheduled for 2 weeks later. The workmen were friendly, clean and efficient. I felt put off by the schedule guy (Bryan York) when I called to see why they were late, but that was probably because I am a time nut and had to get to work. They were late because of traffic and bad weather, so I didn't hold it against them. Their bid was affordable (compared to others) and I appreciated their many years in the business.
Description of Work: They blew in fiberglass insulation in the attic space of my home to get it up to code and help save some heat this winter!

UPON THE INSPECTION, THE INSPECTOR CAUTIONED ME THAT THE ATTIC NEEDED ADDITIONAL VENTING BEFORE INCREASING INSULATION ABOVE THE CURRENT R-4 LEVEL. OTHERWISE, THE ATTIC WOULD GROW MOLD. WORK WAS DONE AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER. IT TOOK THIS LONG BECAUSE EINAR DID NOT DO WEEKENDS, I HAD VACATIONS COMING UP, AND I NEEDED A MONDAY APPOINTMENT. I'M GLAD I DIDN'T WAIT UNTIL OCTOBER (BUSY SEASON)! I WAS TOLD THE JOB WOULD TAKE FROM 8AM TO 1-2PM. THE TWO WORKERS SHOWED UP AT 8:45AM AND FINISHED AT 12:30PM. THEY WERE CAREFUL TO CONFIRM THE JOB THEY WERE ABOUT TO DO. THEY WERE ALSO CONSIDERATE OF MY CAT. WORK WAS QUICK AND CLEAN-UP WAS EXCELLENT. THEY WERE ALWAYS POLITE ABOUT KNOCKING ON THE DOOR AND WAITING FOR ME TO ANSWER. THEY CERTAINLY DIDN'T WEAR SOFT-PORN T-SHIRTS LIKE THE LAST HANDYMAN I HIRED! OVERALL, I'M VERY SATISFIED WITH THEIR WORK.
Description of Work: AT THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST, I HAD 3 COMPANIES COME TO MY HOUSE TO GIVE ESTIMATES. THEY BILLED ME FOR THE WORK 2 DAYS AFTER IT WAS DONE, AND THE PRICE WAS EXACTLY THE ESTIMATE. 1) ATTIC VENTED: 3 SOFFIT VENTS, 3 ROOF VENTS. 2) ATTIC PREPARED FOR INSULATION: HOLE CUT FROM SMALL PART OF ATTIC TO LARGE PART, 8 CANNED LIGHTS PROTECTED, PIPE WRAPPED, KITCHEN VENT VENTED FROM ATTIC TO ROOF. 3) ATTIC INSULATED: SMALL PART OF ATTIC (ABOUT 100 SQUARE FEET) WITH BLOWN INSULATION TO R-30. 100 SQUARE FEET OF ATTIC INSULATED TO R-19 IN ORDER TO LEAVE AN ISLAND OF STORAGE SPACE. REMAINDER OF ATTIC (ABOUT 900 SQUARE FEET) INSULATED WITH R-30 BATTS FOR A TOTAL OF ABOUT R-34.

THEY ARE QUICK, CLEAN, EFFICIENT AND PROFESSIONAL. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE JOB I RECEIVED FROM THEM.
