First off, the recommendation: if you need windows, get quotes. Just be sure you “buy local” have the work done by Einar Johanson Glass. Now here’s why: My long-term condo rental tenant recently moved out. With an opportunity to do some long-needed renovations, we quickly saw the first thing that needed replacing was the 35 year-old exterior windows and sliding doors. I got quotes from a big-box supplier and, after receiving a recommendation from a neighbor, also reached out to Einar Johanson Glass - a decision we haven’t regretted for one moment. The sales rep had been an installer for a number of years and so knew the product and installation process extremely well. Often a sales representative does not have the installation process experience and that often leads to complications but John was able to take me through everything from “soup to nuts” on this project. The pricing for the project was in line and I had no qualms about moving forward with their proposal. As this is a condo unit on an upper level, there were some issues involved with HOA board regulations and access limitations but Einar Johanson Glass didn’t miss a beat. They were compliant with all condo regulations and noise concerns and had the project done in record time. We had one hiccup when the master key was misplaced. As this was a building security issue, the condo board required a replacement of all master keys to the tune of $2500. I phoned Einar Johanson Glass and spoke directly with JD, the long-time owner of the company, and explained the situation. He listened calmly and quietly to me as I explained what had happened then took complete responsibility for the replacement of the keys. He was personally in contact with both the condo board and the locksmith about the problem and took care of absolutely everything at no cost to me.

Contacting firm and scheduling were very professional. Informative onsite visit and not a pressured sales job. Very prompt response in providing written estimate, and estimate was very well priced for work requested. We decided we did not want to replace all windows at one time due to overall costs (especially during pandemic) - and asked for an list of estimates for replacing only some windows (still thousands of dollars) on the house; which contractor agreed to do. But, never heard back from them - disappointing, and disrespectful in my opinion.

Very well. Courteous, informative estimator. Installation team took a lot of caution re: dust and other disturbance. Quality installation. This company had installed other windows for us 25 years ago, so I expected it to go well and it did. We made a last minute change deciding not to cut tile, and the installer suggested I would be due a credit for that change--and made it happen.

I called Einar Johanson to obtain a quote in early April. Representative came to the house a few days later and gave me an estimate of $1350 for three window panes. Windows were 66"x42", 29"x18" and 16"x30". He said the windows would be ready within two to three weeks but because of a backlog may not be able to install until July at the earliest. Was not a problem so I went ahead with the purchase. Requested a $300 deposit which I paid. They called in early June to say they had an early opening for two reasons. One, I am not far from the business and two, the job wouldn't take much more than an hour and a half. Scheduled for June 10th at 9:00. They arrived about 8:00 that day and I was not home but someone else was to let them in to install. House is a rambler so access was easy. When I arrived about 9:15 they were just finishing up. Cleaned the new windows and removed old and any excess material. Polite, professional and efficient. The kind of businesses I like to work with. They have done work for me before and I will use them again.

They did a great job, very nice quality work and very clean. I would definitely hire them again. The only issue I had is they're very backlogged so it took some months after getting a quote before the work started. I wasn't in a hurry so it didn't matter too much.

The crew did a great job getting the windows to fit in the not quite squared window frame. Very neat. Competitive quote. Will use again.

Went great. Promptly got someone out for measurements. at the time they said would take 3-4 weeks for install. We called to schedule several weeks later and the wait was 12+ weeks. I expressed concern about the wait for a single door. They called me the next day and said they would be here to install in 3 weeks. Door is perfect and looks great!

Excellent work, excellent quality windows, and excellent value! We love our new windows. The install looks very high quality. Repairs were done at our request to correct issues with our house and charges were very fair. These are included in the cost I noted above.

The repairman came right on time, as promised. He laid out floor protection throughout the home to catch any debris or moisture. He meticulously took out the old and installed the new, cleaning as he went. He polished up the windows to where you thought there wasn't even a window in place. It looked flawless! I'm super impressed and will use them in the future to replace more windows when needed. I highly recommend!

It was wonderful, very professional, and went way beyond what I expected. I got 3 bids last summer to replace my single-pane windows. I chose Einar Johanson because the rep, Doug Tuft, explained things the most clearly, explained why my slider to the balcony barely worked, and had a very good price,about 8% under the other bids. I appreciated how clearly he explained the different options, and when I called/emailed, he got back to me promptly. Because I live in a condo and EJ was not the preferred provider, I had to go through the board of the condo to get permission to use EJ. There was some confusion and misinformation from the manager of the condo, and in the end, after emails back and forth, a staff member of EJ came to a board meeting to explain how they would install the windows. The confusion was cleared up, and in January the work was done. A second measuring was done for the windows, and when they installers came, they were quite professional, very clean, and finished the work in one day! Although I was told I may need to put some touch up paint on the outside walls, I don't think it needs to be done because the installers were so professional. I love my new sliding door and windows, and my condo is much less drafty!

Einar Johanson were wonderful to work with. From our initial consult with Doug Tuft and planning meetings with Bryan York to the actual work performed by Darrell and his team--Chandler, Ian, Pete, Doug and Matthew--we couldn't have been more pleased. Our new window glass and windows look great. For such a big job it couldn't have gone more smoothly! Everyone who entered our home was professional, as well as kind, helpful and conscientious. Every question or concern was promptly addressed. This was a significant investment in improving our home and we believe we could not have made a better choice than Einar Johanson.

Work took 1.5 days, workers were efficient, clean, and nice to have in the house; they showed concern for our comfort while doors and windows were wide open on a cold day and consulted with us when needed. The company's choice of windows to use is solid (so far) but probably similar to other manufacturers. Our choice of installer was based on a review that indicated the crew could handle structural problems and the approach to installing windows without changing the external style and architecture of the house.

Installers, Russ & Matt were great. Very clean and very good natured. Way exceeded our expectations. One new window was wrong size so the installers did not remove old window until new one was ready. They did exactly what was promised.

This is a revision of an earlier review. Initially i gave this company overall c, but because they are willing to work on any issues i am giving them an overall B. This company installed 1garden window and two sliding glass doors. The job was done adequately. The job was to take two days, but two sets of installers came and did it in one day. This was a plus. There were a few issues, but company is willing to take appropriate steps to rectify them. One cannot ask more than this. When the job was done, instead of taking me around to inspect the job, they literally called me as they were driving out of the driveway informing me they were done. (i was in the back bedroom). I found this unacceptable, unprofessional, and rude. The installers deny this. The issues: Had i had the opportunity to walk the job when they were finished these issues would have been caught at the time and discussed then. Instead, they are now being addressed via BBB. i did e-mail a copy of my original review to the company and did not hear back from them, that is when i contacted the BBB. The company claims the e-mail was found in spam after the BBB contacted them. I have no reason to doubt this. When the upstairs installers took down my blinds, for the he sliding glass door, i asked if they would put them back. I was told yes. However, when i asked this same question to the downstairs installer he told me i should have removed them myself, they are removing them as a favor to me. I should have received a notice of how to prepare for them. I did not receive any such notice. In the middle of the job i called the office to speak to a supervisor. None were available, and none could be reached. So, the upstairs blinds were not returned as discussed. there was some miscommunication between the gentleman who did the estimate and the installers regarding the garden window. I wanted to put corian matching my counter on the bottom which i told the guy who did the estimate, this information was not communicated to the installers. So there is a white bottom and a huge unsightly calking seam separating the counter from the garden window. Because there was no walk through after the job, i had no one to discuss this with. I finally got a walk through today.

He was friendly and seemed to know what he was talking about. It seemed like he had a good product. He recommended really good windows. But, I didn't need something that fancy. I think just generally that company is a little more expensive.

They had to raffle out the window from the steel frame, and then they had to build the frames brand new. They did a fantastic job.

Can't say enough nice things about working with all the folks at Einar Johanson Windows. We obtained 3 other bids and were not impressed with the bids and sometimes with the sales person. Although EInar Johanson was not necessarily the least expensive bid, for the quality of the product, the warranty and the open and honest approach of the sales person, then were tops. Working with the scheduler and the installers was a breeze. They were very responsive to our schedule limitations. The installation was very professional, fast and clean. Highly recommend this company!

I'm overdue in writing my review of Einar Johanson--they replaced and installed all 17 of the windows in my house and also the sliding door to a deck--which includes a pet door for my dog and cat, in the fall of 2012. It has been two years since the windows have been installed and they (and their screens) are holding up great. My home isn't super energy efficient due to design, but I have noticed a difference in the temperatures around the windows from the old windows. No drafts, no condensation, and not ice cold to the touch in the winter. In the summer, the front of the eastward facing house gets a full blast of sun for the majority of the day and they seem to perform well under those conditions too. I'll try to remember best I can the process from two years ago, but my immediate memory of the estimate, installation, and price is that the entire process with Einar Johanson was excellent. I had had two other window estimates done, and working with Doug and receiving the cost estimate was easy, informative and less stress inducing than the others. I can't remember the names of the installers, but they were all professional, friendly, and neat...and were able to maneuver around the many obstacle courses that I had inadvertently set around where they needed to work. Two of the windows were very large picture windows that required extra help, and the company had the foresight to schedule more installers to handle that part of the job, avoiding delay in completion of the work. There was some minor cracking and splitting around some of the framing--the siding is 40+ years old and that was to be expected. But the installers did their best to minimize that sort of thing, repaired where they could, and pointed the cracks out to me. My husband also remembers that they actually finished the installation a little quicker than estimated. I definitely recommend Einar Johanson.

I had Einar Johanson install windows in my cabin on Hood canal several years back and they did a fantastic job! So when it came time to get new windows for my home in Seattle, I called them back. Another outstanding job! They are extremely polite and easy to work with. The estimator was right on time for my initial appointment and made the sales experience very comfortable and explained my options very well. The installers were very kind and courteous and did great work and were very clean and careful! I have had two great experiences with this company and will be recommending them to anyone I know of that is looking for windows.

We were very happy with them. A friend of mine recommended them. They were very responsive and they measured everything. They came out in a big team. It took them about three days to do the windows as I have about 37 windows. It was more than average number of windows. They were very professional. The quality of the windows are excellent. The windows are beautiful. They add great value to our house esthetically. We had a lot of bids and their bid was the most reasonable.

We were very happy with the services and product. The crew was professional and did a great job cleaning up, which is important with small children in the house. The project was completed quickly, and the windows look great. We followed their recommendations, and were happy with the results as they have extensive experience. When we had a couple of problems that turned out to be a fault of the manufacturer, they helped us coordinate fixes at no charge.

Work that they did on our windows 8 yrs ago was fantastic and we always recommend them for windows. They went above and beyond to work with us, my husband being a type A commercial contractor makes it hard for us to get work done at our house because he is very involved. The team that came out was fantastic, so we had them come out again to put in new insulation a few years later. That was also a great experience. Now we are getting ready to sell a different property and went straight to them for Insulation... to my dissapointment they no longer do insulation, just windows and doors. The receptionist stated that they have not done Insulation for a year or more but have not updated their websites or Angie's List. Sorry Einar - i must grudgingly give you a C for inability to perform work you are advertising to do.

It looks just perfect. The experience was fabulous! They were clean, quick, humorous, and they were very personable. One was of much experience and another young man who was just learning came to do the job. We are just overall thrilled with them. They cleaned up well, they got all the little parts picked up. There is very little painting that needs to be done, I am happy about that! They cleared my pants so nothing was damaged. They worked with our schedule and it worked out way sooner than we anticipated. We liked that the people were so personable when they came to our home. They were just great, the installers were hysterical. Darryl was his name and our names rhymed. It just made the job much more enjoyable and made us feel so comfortable. We would definitely recommend then to others.

They were very good, very efficient, did a good job, wasn't messy at all, and really helped the house as far as airtight goes.
