Cutters

The service turned out really good. They did a very good job. It took a couple of weeks talking with them. There was a scheduling issue. Something with the fact that they were suppose to come as far south as they did by area, but it took them five or six 1:09-1:11. So, it took about two weeks to get everything settled out. I just paid the price for the big deal. I did not take on any of the extra service that they offered. They did a lot of good clean up which seems some of them do not do as often. So, I was impressed with how well they cleaned everything when they were done. I had knocked them a little bit because of how long it took and I understand why it took that long.

I purchased a big deal from them and he was responsive. However, he complained a lot. I did want the services right now and I let him know that . He then called me back to have it done since he forgot. He also tried to sell me more stuff.

Two workers arrived on time, asked for details about work to be done, went to work. Checked back periodically with me about progress to make sure work being done to my satisfaction, which it was. I had coupon for $249 for 6 hours of labor with additional charge to dump of $44. They worked hard for the entire 6 hours, ie 2 men for 3 hours each.

The job was completed in two days and is everything we asked. The pathway was to make it easier for my mother to walk around the yard and not have any trip hazards. My mother loves it and proudly shows off the pathway to everyone who comes over. The pathway also defines the backyard area and the planting beds so the whole yard looks inviting.

I was turned onto this guy by a colleague of his Leaf it to Me. I would say both do really good work but both need work on responsiveness. So here is what I wanted done the whole eastsdire of the property is a giant holly bush which need a lot or pruning. And then about 5-6 other trees onsite that a few needed to get trimmed back away from the house. Mike and his crew did an excellent job with a focus on the health of the tree vs making it look pretty which they managed to very well. When I initially booked it was supposed to happen within a week but it took 2-3 weeks more before it got done. I wasn't in a major rush so that was ok but at the same time irritating.I would give these guys a solid A if they were more on top of it. He told they had done an Angies big deal or Groupon not sure and they get swamped with business but I feel that ain't my problem. If you give a time show up on time. So that little vent apart i will use them again because the work was done well and they cleaned up extremely well.

Went great. Brief visit beforehand to get a look and make estimate, then three guys did the job in about 5-6 hours. Would gladly use them again.

The first day they were scheduled they had two men call in sick so had to postpone. Came the following week and did the work. The work they did was satisfactory and they worked hard for the entire time. The price I paid through Angie's list was $279.00 but hauling to dump was extra.

I'm very conflicted in writing this review. The first phone call with the owner, he tried to up-sell me to a 16 man hour deal. He said "His guys bust their a** and I'm really getting about 24 man hours because his guys are really fast" I said... "No." When he showed up to look at the work that needed to be done he tried to up-sell me again. Same answer from me. I showed him what needed to be done. I wanted my beds weeded. He wanted to mow and weed whack the yard... I said to focus on the weeding and if you have extra time trim the cypress bushes. He also asked for an additional $30.00 for taxes and dump fees that I pay when the job was done. First attempt... He said someone will be out on Tuesday (about a month ago) and leave the $30 check under the mat. Nobody showed up and the check got wet under the mat so I had to destroy it. I talked to the owner and He said he is having problems with his guys but he?s got a new guy that is really great and he?s even better than the guy before. So he set another time for Sunday. Second attempt.... Guess what? Nobody showed up. When I talked to the owner he said he had someone slated to come out and do the job but he never showed up. But he?s got a new guy who kicks a** and works really hard. Third attempt? This time someone showed up? They showed up when I was at work. When I came back at noon I was very disappointed at the job that was done. It looked like only 2 hours of work was done. I waited for the owner to call me telling me that the work was interrupted and they will be out to finish it later I also owed the $30 for taxes and dump fees. After waiting two weeks I called him up to find out what was up. He said he sent 2 guys to my house but he never did a drive by to see the work his guys did. I was ready to give this company a ?F? but he said he will send out a crew of 3 guys on Saturday for an hour to finish up. Fourth attempt?. Nobody showed up on Saturday. I got a message from someone around 11a but he didn?t leave a number to call him back. So I called the owner and left a message. I finally got a call back from the owner around 4p saying he doesn?t know how he missed my call and his guys will be out Sunday (today). Fifth attempt? Sunday. (today) Two of his workers showed up. These guy did an excellent job! They did more work in 1.5 hours than the first guys supposed to have done in 6 hours. I am very pleased with the results?. Too bad of all the BS I had to do to get here.

The contractor actually called and asked it he could arrive early, as he was ahead of schedule. Two men arrived ahead of the original time slotted, I showed them where I wanted the light, and they did the installation quickly, efficiently, and to my complete satisfaction.

The work was absolutely excellent. There were other workers there as well that worked well to get the job done. They did yard work, clearing of junipers off of an embankment, got on their hands and knees and removed moss. I was very happy with the work done and would use them again in the future. I was looking for weeding of garden beds and they did an excellent job with that.

Showed up without forwarning and didn't seem to have a system for bookkeeping. The guys doing the actual work were very professional and nice. I had asked for a couple of separate things done, which weren't completed. One of which was pruning a tree and they came back to do it for me but charged me more.

A crew of 4 arrived early! (I was impressed) and asked me to walk the property to detail the work I wanted done. They were very respectful of me and my property. I told them my highest priority was cleaning my roofs. Half the crew began on the roofs, half on the hedge. The hedge looks fantastic! It is precisely trimmed and the 6 foot height I requested. They cleaned up all the trimmings and hauled them to a yard waste disposal site. The roof and gutters were very clean, but moss remained. Because I still had almost 2 hours left of my purchased time, I asked the guys to split fir rounds. They did a great job and stacked the splits. When Mike arrived to check on progress, he told me I'd need to get some moss removal canisters and have one of his workers who lives closer to me come back to spread moss kill on the roofs and sprinkle it with water. I wish Mike had informed me that I needed to have moss kill available for them when they arrived on my scheduled day. I purchased 18 pounds the next day and called MIke to tell him I had the product he suggested. A week later Mike himself came out to sprinkle the product on my mossy sections. He used all of the product and suggested that rain could be the moisture to activate the product. The weather has not cooperated. I still have powdery product visible all over my roof and no rain predicted for the next 2 weeks. Although I appreciated the quality of work done on my hedge and wood splitting, I was not pleased with the communication about moss removal on my roofs. Mike's company is based quite a distance from me and travel time to my home was an issue for him. Because of the distance and the moss issue, I probably will not use this company again.

Michael and his crew are professional, friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. I recommend them highly. They completed the job in a timely manner. In talking to Michael, he said he was having difficulty getting to all of his Angie's List jobs - he had been overbooked - and clients were not happy. I think Angie's List needs to do a better job of communicating with their contractors - as this is the same thing that happened to my first Angie's List contractor. I intend to use Cutters next spring to get my yard ready for the season.

Laurel hedge was pruned - though one section was uneven/partially completed. One large bush by driveway was nicely pruned, they did not get to other two bushes. One pile of laurel was left unpicked up. Oxalia was partially removed from area but did not pull most of the roots. Pruned clematis which is now dying. Ivy was cut back from fence but not a foot away from the fence. Branches above the wires on tulip tree were removed but did get to dogwood. They were here from 7:30 - 3:30, but agreed to have them come back on Saturday. They had mechanical problems and as they did not have our phone number, they came to the house to explain. It was then set up for Tuesday at 2:00, called to say they would be late probably around 3:00, left message after 3:00 to say they would not make it as the job was taking longer and the next available time was Saturday. Having re-arranged schedules three times for them I did not return the call. I appreciated the courtesy they showed while working and notifying us with the changes but after that it was not worth the effort when the quality of work was only OK and difficulty in rescheduling.

I have set it up with him to come out every other Tuesday to weed the yard for me. So far I am very happy with him. He is very professional and does a good job.

Wow, this is the way every company should treat their customers. Mike was extremely professional, his communication was outstanding and his crew went above and beyond the call of duty. They showed up on time (early actually), worked the whole day non-stop, cleaned up after themselves and did everything I asked for and more. I have already scheduled another day with them for our yard work and will have them do our yard maintenance as well on a scheduled basis. If you really want value for your dollar, and you want excellent results, then Mike is the one to call. I know they have been very busy with the great deal made through Angie's list. But believe me, they are well worth the wait. They will see my business many times again.

I've used Cutter's several times. Each time Mike was very easy to work with and quick to respond to any questions or requests that I had. His crew does very consistent and clean work, I never have any complaints when I see the final results. This time my yard grew way faster then I anticipated and was a lot longer then what I would tackle by my self so I brought Cutter's in to chop it down to a more reasonable level for me. My yard now looks great again and I don't feel like I have a tall meadow growing around me.

My front and back yard had weeds that were taller then me, blackberry vines, alder, and horse tail. After a discussion with Mike on the amount of work to be expected, his final esitimate seemed very reasonable. The total cost matched the estimate. The work was well done. The guys who did the work were very polite and professional. They adjusted their work to meet my requests. My yard went from being a mess to looking great and well maintained. I have asked them to schedule regular maintenace and they have been back twice with the same level of great work. I would recommend Cutters to my family and friends.

The company was not professional and refused to honor my Big Deal stating that they were not making any money.

They said the deal only covered so many hours. They billed me for an additional 2 hours of work but they really only stayed for half of that time. Overall, they did do a good job. The work was good as far as I'm concerned.

Mike and his crew did a very thorough clean-up of the yard, which is large, clearing out all the underbrush and trimming the rhodies up. Also trimmed a few branches off two fir trees. They worked hard and fast and were very pleasant to deal with. They went the extra mile. Very polite. They worked so hard that I purchased extra time and my neighbor hired them for a day.

Mike and his two workers did a good job of cutting down and cleaning up a mess of bushes, blackberry, morning glory and others. They hauled what they could away...and then returned later in the week for the rest. I was pleased with the job they did for the price.

Mikey called quickly and came right out. He is knowledgable and knows tree pruning. We discussed different levels of work we could get done. I opted for a full day because I had a very neglected yard. A big portion of the work was a 100 foot laurel that had grown to about 16 feet. They took it back to about 6 feet. I opted to do removal myself. They left everything in unobtrusive piles that are easy to work with. They also did storm clean up of a huge fir and dug out stumps, edged, planted a maple for me and pruned at least five different trees. They did a great job cleaning up. It was a great experience.

Mikey was professional, easy to talk to, showed up on time, and his crew did very nice work. It was difficult to get a response when I needed lawn work the second time. He did finally call, and Cutter's will be doing the fall cleanup at my house. He also gave me an estimate to do some landscaping. The price was fair, and I will definitely call him to do the work when I am ready in the Spring.
