Description of Work: Mike from cutters came out to the house to give us an estimate on some yard work in addition to the big deal we had already purchased. We agreed on a date and time for the work to be completed, and after one reschedule, he called us to say that he was down a worker and would likely be unable to do the job again. We expressed our disappointment and reminded him that we were to be having an event in the yard soon...which seemed to make him angry...when it was suggested that perhaps it would be best to just stick to the initial "Big Deal" and have him deliver and spread the mulch, he became irate and hung up.

Description of Work: Provider was responsive. Unfortunately he was not able to provide an estimate as to how many hours the work would take, nor how much it would cost.

Description of Work: I spoke with this service provider three times, twice on the phone and once in person. All three experiences were negative. I got the feeling that he was very overwhelmed with the quantity of Angie's List responses, but I told him that I could wait and was in no rush. He complained to me about Angie's List, other customers he was working with, and that he would not be making any money off these jobs. He did not seem to value me as a potential return customer, or value my time at all. On the day of the scheduled service, we had to rearrange our schedules completely so someone would be home. Then, the service provider never showed up. I do not like to write negative reviews, as I know this can be detrimental to a small business. Unfortunately, I think the service provider needs hear these issues to improve business practices. 1) Don't complain to your customers. 2) You might not make money on the first job, but if it's a positive experience for your customer, you could make a lot money in the long run. 3) If you have a scheduling conflict, call in advance to cancel and apologize.

Description of Work: Contractor equipment issues and or lack of workers to perform services requested in a reasonable time period

Description of Work: Was a Big Deal....received a follow-up call immediately after purchase from the owner; came out and gave an estimate (which met the Big Deal coupon)...2 polite young men arrived on time and quickly went to work after confirming the needs for the day. Their clean up was spotless - amazing service....even offered to replace our moved patio furniture to the patio/work area. Work Order: Remove approx 10 + years of grape vine off a large trellis. took approx 2 hrs.

Description of Work: They did take out dead shurbs but covered the roots up with dirt. The roots were to be taken out also. Racked up some of the weeds and waste in the beds but left some undone. They were to trim up shrubs with gas tools and they used hand clippers. Mike said he would have 3 men for 8hrs & came with 2 men instead. The older man is the only one that really worked. They hauled the little yard waste that they collected.
