They were at the house early each day and stayed until the work was done. The windows look great! After our first big rain I'll know how they work now, but expect they are now sealed well

LeBron's work is of the highest quality. The fence he build is praised to this day by my neighbors, it has a beautiful curve. The 2 doors he built open and close with precision. Very happy with his work.

The work went well and Labron proved to be a careful and knowledgeable workman who has extensive door installation experience so we intend to have him install a new front door.
Description of Work: We required time sensitive work to be performed on our exterior stairs to coordinate with scheduled foundation work. Labron Castleberry responded promptly and did the work in 1 day with the agreement to do other tasks later in the month. This included reinstalling the front stairs, building a rear stair support, grinding displaced concrete, installing exterior sealant joints and performing sheetrock repairs.

I talked to him about doing other work and so far, I am really impressed. I was very impressed with his thoroughness. When I interviewed him a couple of weeks before he was/is very knowledgeable in terms of doing it right. He is going to rebuild part of my stairs, because I noticed that they weren?t built properly when I had them done by somebody who didn?t know as much. I gave him $500, but that includes some other work he is going to do when he comes back. That was just for the last few hours of working with his assistant.
Description of Work: I hired Castleberrys Carpentry for handyman services. My front stairs have concrete about 2 feet wide on either side of the stairs going up to a craftsman house. One side has over the years has leaned out about 6 inches. My home inspector said it is likely to fall over so I should get it taken care of. So, I am having a foundation specialist who jacks foundations, this would be an easy job for them. I thought they were coming but I made a mistake, so that is why I hired Castleberry. I hired Castleberry and I am impressed with him. I needed him quickly so I could have him remove the wooden stairs, so he could tack it up. He was very good with his helper he came and they finished it before noon, our temporary stairs and he put in a railing. He didn’t replace it, because he can’t cut the boards the right length until the side is jacked up, so he provided a temporary stair on the side, away from where the work is going to happen.

We are adding a positive post to the previous review so we can settle. CURRENT POST 4-11-17: WE HAVE RECEIVED A MONEY ORDER FROM LEBRON. THANK YOU, WE HAVE ONE LEFT. CURRENT POST 3-4-2017 WE HAVE RECEIVED A MONEY ORDER FROM LEBRON. THANK YOU WE HAVE TWO LEFT. PREVIOUS REVIEW WORDING: It has been extremely awful. He breached the contract. He has done little to know work, used incorrect materials, yelled at me and my neighbor in the front yard, has "workers" that he is not registered to have, according to the State of Washington, and refuses to return even a portion of our money. We paid him $4550. We are only asking for $1000 to offset our losses. We cannot even use the wood he purchased as it was not the agreed upon product. --He attached a segment of fencing with "finish" nails as though those would keep the fencing connected. He left four 4X4X12 foot posts dry-set through the asphalt with crossbars sticking onto our driveway. This is very unsafe. --He asked us to pay him up front for a third of the project, failed to show up when the delivery happened, and called the lumber folks liars. --He refused to work it out with us, failing to see that if he breaches the contract that we should get at least a substantial portion of our money returned. --He sent us emails that were extremely negative, bullying us, and treating us disrespectfully. --He used two workers, Aaron and Chris, whom he is not legally setup to have, according to the Washington State licensing authorities. --He also was not actively licensed while he was offering us the contract and trying to get our business, even though he stood right on my front porch and told us he was. --His unprofessional behavior was scary and left us feeling uncomfortable. He would stomp from one area to another sputtering negative remarks, refusing to appropriately answer questions about his return to finish; and he breached a first time which we tried to mend only for him to do that again. Description of work: We hired Mr. Castleberry to build a perimeter fence with two gates with him knowing I am a disabled veteran on a fixed income and that the fence would be to contain my service animal. The thing is: we checked him out as much as we could. He told us he is the only one who could do as good as job as he did for us. This simply is not true, since he breached the contract.
Description of Work: We are attempting to add a positive post to the previous review so we can settle. After several attempts and much back and forth, we and Castleberrys Carpentry have reached a settlement agreement. He has paid us $500 as a first payment and we have agreed to put that into Angie's List.

Lebron was fantastic from start to finish! The previous front door, side window, and frame were all in pretty rough shape. He presented a variety of options for the front door work and i showed him some pictures of mantel styles i liked. He has a great attention to detail and was a pleasure to work with, it's really nice when you can tell someone cares a lot about the quality of their work and is passionate with what they do. The first door had a minor manufacturer defect but he didn't want to compromise the quality and had them remake it so there was a bit of delay there, but in the meantime he and his crew showed up and ripped out the old door and frame, made a new frame/side window and installed a temporary front door in addition to some nice style addons for the header above the door. When the door itself was ready he promptly came out and the finished product is fantastic! The mantel he whipped up was perfect for our tastes as well. Despite the door frame being unexpectedly difficulty to remove since it was built in, he came in right on budget. Would not hesitate to recommend!
Description of Work: Wanted the front door, frame, and side window replaced as well as a mantel built to go over existing tiny concrete shelf atop brick fireplace.

Hello, Thanks for the review. I apologize that i could not get to your project, however, i must point out that it had nothing whatsoever to do with you buying a new door. completely irrelevant to me. As i mentioned when i first came to your home, I am a very small business and very, very busy. Also, the work you needed done needed to wait until a good weather window to keep costs down. if i had to do that work in the rain, it would have cost more than the cost of a new door as i would have had to erect tarps over the whole deck. You would have had to pay for a door install anyway, because the door would have to be removed to effect a complete repair. I ALWAYS recommend that clients think hard about a new door if the old one needs to be removed.

The living room looks great and the sound from the upstairs unit is definitely muffled. We are very happy with the results. The window trim fits perfectly.
Description of Work: Remodeled a basement apartment by removing the wall paneling and installing dry wall in the living room. In addition, we had crown moulding and new floor trim added to the living room and bedroom. The ceiling was removed and LeBron installed soundproofing before adding new dry wall. We also had new insulation put in the walls. The trim around the windows had to be removed and adjusted to to fit the addition of the dry wall.

LeBron came to our aid after he had been working all day at another work site. He prevented a major disaster in the apartment. It turned out that we needed to repipe the house but until we could get the work done by a plumber, the repair that LeBron did held.

Everything was finished to our satisfaction. The new laundry/pantry is a great addition to the house.
Description of Work: Added laundry room and pantry to kitchen. Enclosed an existing storage area that opened to the attached carport and closed up the outside opening. The outside wall required new siding and joists and ceiling were built to finish the interior. The room was sheetrocked and prepared for painting. A new bifold door was installed and walls were repaired in the kitchen. Shelving was put up in the pantry.

This is the third time I have hired Castleberry Carpentry. I have appreciated the results. Very personable, professional, thoughtful. Work is done quickly and high quality. They repaired a wall for me and replaced some fixtures in bathroom. Owner offers his experienced input and suggestions when needed. My home looks clean as if no one has worked there at the end of every work day. I have searched for quality handymen and contractors in Seattle. This one is my favorite. They treat small jobs as if just as important as large jobs and take customer satisfaction very seriously. I highly recommend hiring them.

Sir, Thanks for the review. However, i think there may have been some confusion. Due to the custom nature of the work, the non standard existing structure and the very low budget i had to work with, it did require that second day to complete as we had discussed. I tried contacting you several times by phone and email with no response. I apologize for any confusion, and i take a certain amount of pride in the fact that i always complete jobs and work very hard to make sure the clients needs are met, whatever the cost and whatever it is i need to do to make it happen. Also, there was a balance due on this project as i did not finish. My "daily minimum" is $750.00 under very special circumstances, and i worked well after dark. The $300 was just the deposit. That is fine, dont worry about the money, i just want you to know that i did attempt to make contact and get the work completed for you.

My contact with LeBron began about a month or so before the work was performed. I initiated contact through Angie's List, but a week later, I hadn't heard back. Eventually, I looked up their website, found the number, and called them directly. I reached LeBron while he was on his way back from a road trip to the other side of the country, still two weeks out from the Seattle area. We talked through the work required and he suggested that I send an e-mail to his partner, Josh to get everything underway. That e-mail slipped through the cracks as well, but they're a two-man business so I'm somewhat sympathetic to that. Eventually, Josh got back to me around the time I had a couple other contractors out for a site inspection. Josh was able to come out a couple days later take some measurements and provided an estimate. Their estimate came in on par with others and seeing Josh's attention to detail swayed me to go with them despite not being impressed with business operations side of things. I was most concerned about the quality of work. Once I started communicating with LeBron directly again, things went much smoother from a business ops side of things. I met LeBron near my work to sign the quote and give him my 50% deposit. He ordered the door on credit and within about 5 days, he was on site installing the door. The install took two full days and involved cutting a 6 in concrete footer to make way for the door. LeBron's partner Josh was supposed to do the work, but had decided to move onto another job seeking a less demanding schedule. As a result, there were some mishaps with incorrect equipment to cut the footer delaying things, but all in all, LeBron did an excellent job on the install. Again the quality of the work was my biggest concern and he easily met those standards. He did it right the first time so I didn't have to pay to have done right a second time. He also took care to keep limit the impact of the work on the rest of my garage and yard which was kindly appreciated. In summary, the quality of the work done was top notch, but I think I caught them in a transition time which created some issues from the business side of things. I would definitely use LeBron again.

We purchased a custom door for our home. LeBron met with us before we made the purchase and gave us an estimate for the work. Castleberrys' has extensive and excellent reviews on Angie's List and so we called Lebron Castleberry, the owner and founder of the company, for a consult and quote. We were struck by Leborn's responsiveness and his immediate grasp of the situation. Further, he was quick to offer thoughtful options as to how we might address the installation if his company were to proceed. We accepted his quote, finding it very reasonable given the amount of customization we knew the job would require. Lebron understood every aspect of the job, being quite detailed in his explanation of how he and his crew would approach it. He possesses a very personable working nature?patient and extremely considerate of a homeowner's concerns. Lebron would talk over the details with us and explain every step if we had required such. But it became clear that he understood the complexities of the project thoroughly and so, trusting his expertise, we decided to leave the implementation to him and his crew. Each day he and his associate Joel arrived on time, as planned and scheduled. Lebron and Joel's meticulous attention to every aspect of the installation was evident. Existing floors, walls and finishes were well-protected before the start of each session and the site was left immaculate each day. Castleberry's commitment to the successful completion of the project was striking. And finally, and perhaps most importantly?they did a truly excellent job. Castleberrys' exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to hire them again and we recommend them wholeheartedly. Everyone who has come to see their completed work has left thoroughly impressed. Lastly, Castleberrys' performance stands as a credit to Angie's List. Our experience with them reaffirms the enormous value in both services.
Description of Work: Enclosed a room with a customized wall, door & transom unit, which itself needed to be set within the parameters of a hallway leading to it. Castleberrys designed, constructed and installed the entire assembly, which had to be specifically tailored due the unit's location and on-site conditions.

I first made contact on May 30. My job was installing exterior window trim around twenty windows. LeBron responded that same day asking for details about the job and where I was located. He indicated that he could come out and look at the job the next week. I wrote back the same day asking when was convenient. On Wednesday June 3, I hadn't heard anything so I sent another email. LeBron responded quickly and wanted to meet within the next couple hours. However, by the time I actually saw that message, it was too late. We reestablished email contact later that day where LeBron suggested meeting Friday, June 5th. On June 4th LeBron sent a message saying he couldn't come out the 5th and suggested some time "late next week". After some back and forth communication, we agreed on Friday, June 12th. So, on June 12th I scheduled my work day so I could be around my house at the agreed upon time. Well, on the 12th, I got another email from him saying that he wouldn't be able to make it out and apologized saying he had a very small company and told me he wasn't sure when he could make it out to my house. I then pulled the plug on this inquiry and told him that I wasn't interested in all the rescheduling that was going on. His response was that it was "incredibly difficult for us to get out to the greater Seattle areas". I live in an eastside suburb that is a 20 minute drive from what Angies List shows as his business address. It this is too far away, there was no indication of that in Angies List. Based on other reviews, it sounds like LeBron does indeed do great work. However, if a provider is going to be limited in some way on the types/location of jobs they can take, I think Angies List should indicate this. If not on Angies List, then I would have thought LeBron's first response should have indicated that he isn't able to take jobs outside of Seattle city limits (or whatever the service area is). I'd rather know right away if someone is not interested or able to take on a particular job rather than finding out at a later time that the provider is unable to provide the requested service.

[Member's name removed], thanks for the prompt feedback... I wish all clients would post reviews so quickly!! although you were not my client, as i have not done any work for you. You are right on one point, i do very good work. and it would have been worth it for you to be a little more patient. A simple phone call as requested in my profile would have been very beneficial. Most clients call as well as send a message. some customers have to wait 6 months and they are happy to do so due to the high value I provide As it states in my profile and on my website, we are a very small custom carpentry company. not a huge general contractor. therefore i am working typically 60 hours a week, and thats before any phone calls or emails get answered!! its crazy i know. but if i am to retain the high quality I am known for, i must be on the job at least 6 days a week. And im sure you are aware just how difficult it would be to work a 8-10 hour day on the west side, or anywhere in seattle frankly, then try to get across the pond in the evening. its nearly impossible. In the future, I would recommend selecting a provider from your area. If you would read closely, on my profile it clearly states ""please use the contact form on my website and/or call LeBron Castleberry at 206-579-9626, email us through the website or castleberryscarpentry@gmail.com. "" and ""Initial contact through Angieslist is fine, but please email through gmail or our website, as it is difficult to carry on extended emails through the AngiesList system due the very limited messaging format."" I rarely schedule anything through angies without a clients full contact info, and an initial phone consultation. its just not feasible. I understand your frustration and welcome the feedback. If you would have called me, or used the website email, you would have gotten on the schedule faster, even though we were booked for the whole month, i would have found a way to get to you. As it is I simply can not get to everyone. I apologize that you were left waiting.

The work went well, and it was done when agreed upon. Hinges were replaced, doors adjusted (planing and sanding), doors rehung and are now operative. Mr. Castleberry clearly knows his doors!
Description of Work: Provided consultation and estimates for replacement of French doors, reworking the doors, or making adjustments to make a bad situation at least workable. I chose the latter due to price.
