Excellent.
Description of Work: Carlisle renovated the entire living level including two bathrooms, kitchen, pantry and living rooms. The workmanship was excellent and more importantly years later they still stand behind their work. When it came time to renovate the basement level and deck, we didn't hesitate to call Carlisle. I would recommend them without hesitation and often have.

Response from Carlisle Classic Homes
Hello [removed member name], I apologize for your frustration in a lack of response from us. May I ask a favor of you, we keep very good records of all emails, website inquiries, voicemails and a phone log. We do not have you on any of our logs. Can you please share with me how you reached out to us? When you did so? And if it might have been under any different name? That way I can figure out where our system broke down. Also, I'd be happy to personally discuss any questions or requests you have if you have any left at this time. My cell is 206.795.9253. Thank You, Rob

Their quote was very reasonable. They were very professional and everything went well. They presented well researched things amazingly, and they were very good. We will use them in the future.
Description of Work: We were interested in adding new additions and some designs to our house; so we got a quote from Carlisle Classic Homes about 3 weeks ago.

Very professional staff. We were very happy with the results and the high level of communication. The best part of this project was how clean they kept our house & contained their workspace while they worked. We were able to live comfortably during the process even as we put a new loft with a ceiling entrance & ladder in our living room. We have already used CCH again in our new home and we highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Created a loft in our attic crawl space to maximize our space and increase square footage in our home. Removed ceiling beams and totally restructured the roof support. Added window, railing/gate and loft ladder.

Carlisle Classic Homes did an amazing job from start to finish and their level of professionalism was outstanding. We had a strict budget and they worked with us to make it happen and stuck to it. We were amazed at the extremely high level of communication we had regarding each decision that was needed along the way. We met with the owner of the company (Rob Carlisle) and our project manager "Jeremy" at the start of the job and then Jeremy was our project manager and 'go to' guy for the rest of the job. He always let us know exactly what was going to be happening each day and was at our home each morning promptly to see that everything was going as planned and scheduled. I had him on speed dial and he ALWAYS answered my calls with any questions I had. He was truly amazing to work with and we felt very confident through the entire job because of his attention to detail. (I have to admit that I can be a bit demanding and "high maintenance" at times and he always put me at ease and had no problems patiently re-explaining details to me!) Aside from their professionalism, the work they did was exceptional as well. They always explained the rationale behind why things needed to be done a certain way so that they always maintained the safety of the home and so that everything was properly done to code. They really did an amazing job helping us maximize every square inch of our super small space making it feel roomy and comfortabe. (Additonally, the Carlisle carpenters and workers were all very prompt, professional and clean as well.) We will definately use them again for our next project and we recommend them to everyone we know. We now have an amazing basement suite for our parents to stay in when they come to visit their grandkids...and they love it too and were amazed by the incredible transformation of our small dingey basement!!
Description of Work: Complete basement remodel including carpentry, doors, framing, brand new bathroom and drain system, and resupported entire house with new steel beam installation. Completely transformed a super small dingey basement into an amazing basement suite that maximizes every square inch of space.

The installation of the media center went very smoothly in spite of several unforeseen problems with wiring and a cabinet layout. With our remodel three years ago they were amazing. We had begun a major remodel with an incompetent and dishonest builder and were facing a deadline with our daughter's wedding three weeks away. Bathrooms had been torn up and damaged and water had leaked into our kitchen. They came in and turned the job around completing all projected work and repairs in less than three weeks and were half the price of the dishonest contractor. They worked easily and well with our decorator and contributed several clever ideas to the job. Nearly a year later they returned to service a faucet in one bathroom No charge for this visit and they were very prompt. They are a credit to their profession.
Description of Work: They brought Comcast cable leads and WiFi into the home, hid all work in ceiling molding, helped select and purchase amplifier, television,DVD player and universal remote. Programmed all devices after rebuilding cabinets and hiding a-v equipment. They mounted a large screen television on swivel wall mount. All work was completed on time and within budget. Three years previously they completed an extensive remodel prior to our daughter's wedding involving the creation of new bathroom, remodel of a master bath, a major kitchen and basement remodel in three weeks time and were not over budget. Always professional, highly competent and very easy to have in our home.

Carlisle Classic Homes completely remodeled our house. We purchased a 1960 mid-century modern house, and early in the morning on the day we were scheduled to move into the house we had an electrical fire. About 1/3 of our house was destroyed and the remainder was severely smoke damaged. Carlisle did a great job working with our insurance company to settle the claim. Then, after keeping the exterior walls and treating the house for smoke, they rebuilt every room in the house. This included moving many of the interior walls and redoing the floor and ceiling. Rob and his staff were great; responsive, helpful and thorough. Our project manager was particularly great in helping us think through the implications of our design and layout choices. We LOVE our master bathroom and it wouldn't be nearly as great without his help. We also really appreciated the way Carlisle handled the couple of inevitable issues that came up in a project this large. We had one difficulty when a piece of work wasn't done to our liking. But once we talked about it with Carlisle it was taken care of at no cost to us. Really, it speaks to how strong their communication is. That was so important for us because we had no experience doing a remodel (and we hadn't planned to do it). Their communication really made the whole process easier and less stressful. Ultimately, we love our home and really appreciate the work they did!
Description of Work: Complete remodel of our house after a fire. Carlisle did the fire restoration, the floors, ceiling, kitchen, bathrooms, custom cabinetry construction, everything.

The work was amazingly timely, well done, and came in under budget. The only problem was with a sub contractor who painted and they made sure the sub came back and fixed all the problems.
Description of Work: They did a full basement remodel to converted a partially finished basement into a fully finished living area including a bedroom, rec/home theater, bar, laundry room and bathroom. They also built a utility room and moved all necessary plumbing and redid heating duct work.

They were really nice, but we ended up not doing that work. We realized that the remodeling would cost us a lot of money. They were really helpful, though. They told us that it would cost $60000 to reinforce our foundation. They were really nice. They came out quickly and they seemed very professional and helpful. We will consider using them in the future.

Carlisle Classic Homes was great. From the estimate to the finished product, everything went very smooth. The estimate proposal was detailed so that I could see where all the expenses were going. The work crew was puntual and very professional. We had a great experience all around. I definately plan to use this company in the future.

We were working with a compressed timeline, but Rob and Alex were very willing to try to meet our needs to complete the project in as little time as possible without sacrificing quality. We hired this company because, with limited experience in construction and remodeling, we wanted someone that we could trust to do the job well, communicate effectively, and minimize confusion and frustration. We had heard about many construction projects going awry, and we knew from the beginning that these were very competent professionals. We were not disappointed. They gave us a very detailed timeline so that in every phase of the project, we knew whether it was progressing as planned. They tried to foresee any potential complications that might stall the project and increase costs, so they never fell behind and, ultimately, they also came in under budget. We met with Alex, our project manager, at least once a week to check in. All of the workers were very professional and respectful. We had a slight issue with the tile work by one of their subs, but they guarantee their work so it was fixed at no cost to us. Rob Carlisle, the owner, is extremely detail oriented (and in fact was the one to point out the imperfection to us) and would not ever let a mistake slide. It was slightly, inconvenient, however, to rip out the tile and redo it. In the end, we are thrilled with the outcome of the job. The upper level of our house has been transformed to a beautiful, livable space. We recommend them without any hesitation.
Description of Work: Upstairs bathroom dormer addition, painted 2nd level of house, stairway, and kitchen, refinished hardwood floors, replaced several windows, gutted and refaced the existing downstairs bathroom, installed new plumbing, updated electrical panel.

This is my second time using these guys and they are very responsive and professional. The company has grown quite a bit since we used them last, but their attention to detail and customer service has not changed. All the subs were first rate except for the drywallers, whom they promptly fired and finished the work/cleaned up the mess themselves. When we had our flood, they were the first people we called to do our insurance estimate. We were not even sure we would do much - we definitely needed new floors and drywall in the basement, but we weren't sure we'd hire contractors for it. They did a very thorough evaluation and when our insurance company wasn't responding to us and then under bid, they talked to the insurance company on our behalf to convince them of the damage. We were either going to remodel or move. We looked at the market and decided we could add more value to our house by expanding the 1/2 bath in the basement and putting a full on the 2nd story. So we called Carlisle again. They helped us with floor plans and design elements, talked through whether we wanted full or half baths in the two locations and once everything was decided, started to work. As I mentioned above we had a problem with the drywallers, but the company promptly took care of the problem when I mentioned it. Part of the key to a more pleasant remodel experience is good communication with the contractor, and Jeremy, our lead, was fantastic. He never made me feel like I was asking stupid questions or being ridiculous. Even when I literally lost it one day and started bawling in front of him, Jeremy took it all in stride and didn't make me feel like I was some high maintenance person. I work from home, so these guys were on every floor of my house every day (hence the wanting to pull my hair out - not their fault, just the reality of a remodel). I never heard inappropriate conversations or obnoxious music. They always cleaned up after themselves and would tell me when they would be gone/coming back. All said, our project came out about even on price, but late time wise because of a screw up at Lowes (note: talk about above and beyond the call: we had ordered a tub from Lowes and the one they delivered had a scratch in it. Jeremy went to I think 4 separate Lowes to find a pristine tub for us). As the end of the project was nearing and it was past when it should have been finished due to the mix up, we had a house guest coming and only one working toilet. It seemed like the entire Carlisle team descended on our house to finish up the work in 72 hours (now they were 95% finished so it wasn't as if the bathrooms were still at the studs). And when our grout started to peal upstairs a couple weeks later because of a bad seal, they came in, re-grouted and re-sealed. Anyhow, these guys are fantastic, above board and worth every penny.
Description of Work: We had an internal flood on our first floor which ruined the hardwoods and flooded the basement. They repaired the basement and added a bathroom there. They replaced the first floor hardwood and took out a wall there. They also added a full bath upstairs.

From the initial meeting, the Project Managers at Carlisle showed their dedication and professionalism. Initially we worked with Alex to gather the requirements and generate a quote. Alex then introduced us to Jeremy, who handled our job. We needed our back deck demolished and removed, our front door and balcony doors removed and replaced, and our front porch remodeled. During the planning, Jeremy suggested that we anchor the deck with biscuits, rather than screws from the top, to make it more aesthetically pleasing. This turned out to be a great idea, and we love the look of the deck. On the first day of demo, Jeremy found some additional damage on the back corner of the house. It was hidden and only exposed after the deck was removed. Jeremy, Alex and Rob all consulted on the issue and explained (and photographed) everything for me. We agreed that we needed to perform the additional work, which was added to the quote. The deck was finished in a timely manner, including expanding the back steps off the deck, and then the crew moved to the front porch. That went very smoothly, with Jeremy providing daily status updates and letting us know what was in store for the next day. During this time, Jeremy dropped off stain samples for the front door, so we could be sure of the exact color we were getting. Jeremy coordinated picking up the doors, getting them stained and sealed and getting them to the house for installation. Chris (the carpenter) was a gem to work with, as I was home the day of the install, and was able to interact with him directly. He was neat, not invasive, professional, and respectful of my house, time, family and pet. The doors look amazing, and the installation was flawless. After the work was all complete, the Chris cleaned up like no other contractor I know. The yard and work area was spotless, and he even ran a mower over the grass to pick up any stray nails. Jeremy was a dream to work with, and closed out the deal and final payments at a convenient location for me and my wife. While Carlisle is not the cheapest game in town, the peace of mind they provide in the craftsmanship, design and business professionalism is worth every cent. I never worried about them showing up, working, cleaning up, or taking care of my property. They are a class act and very trustworthy. They listen to your wants and needs, and work with you to help minimize costs, provide options, and make suggestions that will improve your design while staying within your budget.
Description of Work: Remove and replace back deck with composite decking, remove and replace front door and balcony door, reconstruct front porch and steps.

Really really great group of guys. They only sub-contracted out mudding and floors so I always knew who would be in the house. They are well educated, pleasant, very polite and even put our cat away when the doors needed to be open. Just a super group personality and talent wise. They were mid-range as far as price, but for the expertise and beauty of their work I would say they are under priced (don't tell them that!) They have built complete houses as well as remodeling of all rooms. They also have good eyes for design so consult with them on that as well.
Description of Work: Contractors, they did our kitchen remodel. We had the original kitchen from our 1924 house which meant there were no counters and no dishwasher. They took the kitchen down to the studs and rebuilt it all with period touches and inventive solutions. They also helped us with recent flooding in our basement and they continued to do a great job evaluating in what, for other contractors, would be a low priority job.
