Button Plumbing gave me an estimate over the phone on the total cost of replacing a 40 gallon water heater. I appreciated that the owner didn't try to get me to buy anything else. Other companies I had called tried to get me to spend more money on a larger tank and more hardware to install it. I just needed a 40 gallon tank for a rental property and Button Plumbing gave me what I was asking for. The owner's son and a helper came out a couple days later and performed the installation without any issues. I felt I got my money's worth from this company. I appreciated that they are a family owned business and close to my location. I would use them again for additional work.
Description of Work: A forty gallon water heater was replaced and a leaky hose bib was repaired.

I called and talked to his wife, who set the appt. Jim and his partner showed up early and fixed the issue. There were no problems.
Description of Work: He added a pressure release valve to my hot water heater. There was already a 125 installed, but he added a 150. The piece was $18 and added a new flapper in a toilet.

This was a very large project. The original master bathroom was much too small and poorly designed. We changed the layout of the house a bit to take advantage of some space from a long hallway and also took over 2 feet of space from our bedroom which was pretty big and is still adequate size for a king size bed and large night stands. The original plumbing when we gutted the space was poorly done and we were extremely lucky we hadn't had a sewer pipe leak as it wasn't attached to the tub drain just pushed in place. The slope on the toilet drain was not adequate so the re-do of the plumbing was not simple. Jim and his crew had to perform near miracles to make it meet code as we did have permits on the project and we use this bathroom all the time so wanted it 'done right'. This included drilling through a concrete wall for the sewer line, running it between a floor and drywall ceiling below and out through another wall to connect to the main sewer line which was in the garage. They accomplished this without damage to the drywall or floor. They worked with me to swap out a shower valve after I discovered that the shower trim was not at all what I wanted after receiving it. They took all the products back to the distributor without charging me a restocking fee except for the valve which had been installed but I think that was reasonable since it was my change. After the project was drywalled and all the finishing pieces put in they came back and installed the toilet, sinks and attached the sewer and fresh water to them and installed the shower devices. Everything passed inspections on the first pass and it all works beautifully. I've used Button before but this was by far the largest project and we had the most hiccups in terms of little things that cropped up like the wrong finish on the handles for the faucets but it wasn't their fault and they got everything done right and for the most part our project time-line was not impacted at all. I was grateful they were able to maintain their composure because between the stress and 5 month duration of the entire project which my husband and I doing much of the work ourselves I sometimes was not the easiest client to work with. I'll continue to use them for my plumbing because I know that even when things don't go well they see the project through and in the end I'll be happy with it. That says more to me than when things go easily, not everyone can ride a bucking bronco so to speak. Thanks guys, enjoy your year until we start the kitchen.
Description of Work: Rough-in and final plumbing in our master bathroom that was gutted and configuration changed. The cost includes all the parts as well as the labor.

They arrived right in the time frame promised and explained in detail what the problem was and how they were going to fix it. Once fixed (washer replaced) they ran a double test on the sprinkler/outdoor water system to ensure the leak stopped.
Description of Work: I had a leak in the outside sprinkler head at the lowest part of my property. Button replaced the washer on an outdoor faucet, double tested it to make sure the sprinkler head was no longer leaking.

They were on time for the estimate and were willing to run the line directly to the fireplace through a beam overhang (an estimate I received from another installer wanted to go three times as far outside the house adding to the cost). They were on time for the install and even though they weren't able to install a second line they had orginally estimated they reduced the price on their own. They were courteous and professional. The only negative we experienced was that we didn't receive a quote until we called them, this was explained by the owner's wife as a new email system issue. Just a little setback and would use again.

We were suddenly faced with water coming out of our ceiling light fixture on the 2nd floor. We feared the worst as we new the water was not coming from the roof. We called 3 plumbers that had high ratings on Angies List. All three called back and Button Plumping was the only company that made time on their busy schedule for us. They agreed to stop by our house on their way home from work...at 6:00 pm! They arrived ontime and helped us with the issue we were having with a overflow valve in an upstairs bathtub. We were very pleased with their work and that they gave up time with their families to help us out. We have more plumbing needs since we are remodeling and this is the company we will rely upon to do future work for us.

Button completed the job in just one day, whereas other bids were for 2 or 3 days. Price was also a few hundred less than others, with a few more items covered. They also were right on with the bid to the actual cost. The guys were friendly and tried to be careful with the mess in the house. Replacing the pipes is a dirty job though, so be prepared to do a little cleaning after its over.
Description of Work: Button Plumbing replaced all the plumbing in my house. Old galvanized pipes were replaced with PEX. Many pipes were exposed in the unfinished basement. They replaced the pipes in the walls to the first floor and 2nd floor bathrooms. Only made 4 small holes inside the house. They also replaced the sprayer in the kitchen sink and put on the pedestal for the sink. (The former owners of the house had hung the sink too low for it to fit.) They also put in a proper water shut off and drain for the washing machine.

I bought a house at an auction and found that one of the toilets was clogged. They were able to extract a toddler's toy in less than an hour from what I remember. An amateur plumber (friend of mine) had taken hours and hours and couldn't solve the problem. They were on-time and quite professional as well as being friendly. I did not actually witness the work performed but the results were great.

It goes on further that I did call them back because they are really highly rated by Angie's List. They said they would come back out the next day. Well, they did show up and they said they would get us the estimate about by the next day. They never got back to me.
Description of Work: They were suppose to give us an estimate for plumbing work. They said they would come back within a four hour time window to give me an estimate from when I called them. We cut what we had to do short in order to be back in time for their estimate and they didn't call or show up.

Mr Button and one of his son came the day after we had a leak in one of our wall and also when we had a toilet issue. They were really nice, up-front estimates and cost for the work and I have to say I was please by the quality of their worked. The price I've paid for the service and time they've spent in my house was more than fair. I was really happy with their work and their professionalism. I actually have another plumbing job coming up and I will definitely call them again. I really like their business and their friendliness and customer service is examplary.
Description of Work: They've fixed my toilet which was really hard to flush - it felt like it was going to break everytime the kids were flushing it. I also had a leak with the kids shower. They diagnosed the problem and found that the nozzle to fill the bath had an issue. They had one in their truck so they gave it and install to me for free and they re-sealed the faucet. After that they I told them I had a problem with a toilet that wasn't flushing completely and that it was always jamming. They unclogged it for free and since then it is working fine.

On the morning of 9/16/11, I called Button Plumbing. The phone was answered after the first ring. After I explained the situation of my stopped toilet, I was given a cost estimate over the phone. She said that the job would probably take one hour at the cost of $110. She said that the crew would be in my zip code in the afternoon and that I could expect them between 3:00-4:00pm. I asked her if she could call me 30 minutes before they show-up, so that I could stay at work as long as possible. Shawn, the plumber, called me about 20 minutes before he showed up. I was already close to home and he showed up at 3:06pm. Shawn and Matt both took off their shoes at my front door and immediately started working. They knew what the problem was within the first 10 minutes after inserting an auger into the toilet bowl. They had to take the toilet off the base and make sure it was all clear. It was clear, so they set the toilet back in place. They were finished within 45 minutes. I asked Shawn what I should do if I have any problems with the toilet again. He said that I could just call them and their service has a one year warantee. I ended up paying $135 ($110 for the service and an extra $25.00 for parts and tax), but it was well worth it for a job well done. Great experience!

We noticed our water heater leaking on Saturday and I called Button knowing that they weren't open. I got a call back over the weekend and was able to schedule an appointment to have them come out with a new water heater (our fault for letting the original one go so long) on Monday. I love that they offered to come out to shut anything down if we needed it. They arrived on time and removed the old tank and installed the new one. Because they had to shut off the gas, they made sure to go around the house to relight all the pilot lights, etc. Sean then showed me how to re-light the pilot, explaining everything clearly. Reasons to love Button Plumbing: 1) they always make sure that you don't have to spend more than you need to (eg., they will check to make sure you really need to replace something versus them fixing it). 2) they get stuff done fast and are very professional and friendly. 3) Always take the time to tell you how to do something in the future, etc. that will help you keep them from having to come again (i.e. they won't milk you) 4) Their name has been circulated at work (think big company) in all the homeowner groups and all my friends use them for heating and plumbing.
Description of Work: Replaced existing water heater with new one they helped us acquire.

I contacted several other plumbing companies to get quotes for removing and replacing 3 toilets in our home, and being this was our first toilet purchase we have ever had for any property we have had in over 20 years, I was a novice at best when it came to deciding on the product to get. Carol was very helpful in helping me with our decision, and I applied that information to the other companies to get their final quotes. Button Pluming had the best price combined for the work we wanted preformed. My husband was home for the installations and said the were very professional and completed the job efficiently. When I got home they had just left and I couldn't tell they had been there other than the toilets were replaced with the best toilet I have ever had the pleasure to use. Highly recommended.

We got the contractor's name from our gc/consultant. My husband sent him our floorplan to get a bid on new construction plumbing. We never heard back from Jim Button. I called Jim about a plumbing problem at one of our commercial buildings. The city had been working on the water main, and when they restored water service to our building, we had a urinal that would not stop running. Jim told me how to check for a possible pebble that might be stuck in the valve. I followed his advice and everything worked out fine. I appreciated Jim's honesty that this was not a difficult problem to fix. That type of customer service will earn them our business in the future!
