Estimator quickly assessed that small plastic residue from the old WH had partially clogged the various faucets and water outlets in the house. Estimator instructed on how to clear the plugs. All is now good. | |In a previous experience last year also involving hot water, the hot water line to the dishwasher had become incurably plugged. The worker offered a couple of solutions and completed the work with no hassle. very professional and very good.

Description of Work: Scoped part of the sewer line. He did not realize that he was only scoping part of the line which I think he probably should have known. He should have pulled the toilet also to scope that part of the line. This was a special price, so that is forgiveable I guess.

Description of Work: They were hired to unplug a sewer drain. They removed a toilet, ran a camera down the drain and told us there was a clog that was most likely tree roots, but they would have to install an outside cleanout to the tune of $4000. I tried to get them to use the cleanout in the crawl space or go down the rooftop vent stack, but they said, no, our machine is too heavy. After they left we found a big puddle where they reinstalled toiIlet. They came back the next day and fixed the leak but broke the toilet seat which they then fixed. I hired another plumber who fixed the plugged line (toilet paper, not roots) in 45 minutes for about $250. I asked Bob Oats for a refund of their initial charge and they did! Can't fault them for that.

Description of Work: Cleared multiple major clogs in old and new...and not well-plumbed areas of recently purchased older home. Also repaired plumbing in dark room sink that had been unusable. Charged less than first provider we called...who left without being able to fix anything and charged more! They offered some suggestions and we definitely plan to have them back when we are ready to improve the property. Highly recommend them. Also, they inadvertently left behind a set of channel locks I need to get back to them.

Description of Work: He arrived on time. He needed to cut a whole in our ceiling in order to diagnose the problem. I actually spend a lot of time helping him and suggesting a diagnosis. After about an hour of experimentation, we finally came to the same conclusion for the cause of the leak, but he said it was something a handyman should fix, not a plumber. He left me with a referral (who I was not able to contact after several tries), a $120 bill, and a hole in our kitchen ceiling.

Description of Work: I called Bob Oates last Friday morning because of a problem with very low water pressure for the hot water in my kitchen faucet. It occurred after I shut off the water to recaulk the sink and then turned it back on, so I suspected the valve had broken, but it was behind the disposal and hard to reach. |When I called, the woman who answered the phone first said the first available appointment was Monday, so I said I would try to find a plumber who was available today. But I asked if they could have a plumber call me back for advice. The office staff made some quick inquiries and found out that Eric was available the same day. |Eric arrived around 3 pm and replaced both the hot and cold water valves (he asked if I wanted him to do the cold one also, and I said yes because I figured it might fail soon.) Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem. Eric suggested that the missing washer might have gotten stuck in the pipe. Sure enough, that's what happened, and after he extracted it the water pressure returned to normal. |I could have saved money by going through the home warranty we got when we bought the house last year, but they could not have gotten someone out the same day. Also, I am not confident that those plumbers could have solved the problem on the first visit. I appreciated Eric's professionalism and competence and the fact that he solved the problem quickly, even though the cost was a bit more than I expected. He also pointed out a potential problem with the faucet that the home warranty company's plumbing contractor had installed 6 months ago, which may allow me to get it addressed while still under warranty.
