How did it go? Outstanding! I would give all A+ if I could. We contacted the owner, Bob Oates, via email yesterday, 10/1/13, describing our clogged drain with water overflowing from the drain. We had great fear that this water would damage our foundation. Can you help us, we asked? "Yes," Mr. Oates replied at 6:23 AM this morning, 10/2/13. He asked that we contact the office and make an appointment. I did. By a miracle, one of Mr. Oates employees was working on another job in Issaquah. Thus, I was told "Mark" could arrive sometime between 10 and 12 - TODAY!. Mark arrived at 10 AM. Nice guy!! Awesome wisdom. He first assessed our drainage system to determine where we entered into the city's drainage system. He then put the camera into our clogged drain. Wow! It was a BIG CLOG! Mark was hopeful, as he inserted the "snake." After a few minutes, we both experienced the "free-flowing water." "Got it!" said Mark. Truly amazing, as I watched the whole thing. Mark explained every detail, teaching me as he went. What an "artist" of a plumber, he is. When Mark hooked up his hose to our outside water faucet, water went every which way. "I can fix this, if you'd like," he gently offered. He went to a nearby supply store, returned and again very expertly and quickly, replaced our water faucet. All this was done in less than 2 hours. I would give Bob Oates Plumbing and Mark my highest recommendation. My husband and I work in healthcare. Thus, we tend to be perfectionists with a high focus on quality. Mark and his impeccable work exceeded my expectations. We will definitely reach out to Mr. Oates, asking specifically for Mark again. Rain, rain, rain come our way. We will be prepared and protected thanks to this family-owned company and wonderful team.

They came out right away but he complained that I should have talked to him before purchasing a deal through Angie's List. They really exaggerated what the problem was according to another company that came out right away and made it sound like they didn't want the job. They weren't sure where they would find the break. I found another company He didn't seem happy that I didn't talk to him before I ordered it and I really wanted the deal.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. We like those guys. We call them all the time. We've only used them through Angie's List. There were no additional charges. They show up, they do a good job, they're quick, and they're efficient.

One of the sinks in my master bathroom has been slow for years. I've used various products over the years, but sooner or later it always clogs up. i saw this big deal to get one drain routed out for $99, so I signed up. The provider arrived on time, was very professional, and completed the work in about 100 minutes. He says he snaked it out for 25 feet; although I have no way to confirm that. In any case, it has been four months so far and no problems yet with the drain.

The employees were very professional and did a super good job of raking dirt and gravel back into place. I was very satisfied.

the provider selected and brought a disposal replacement unit with him and completed the task promptly. He was on time within window, very polite, professional. After he left I ran the dishwasher and discovered blockage in the drain (d/w to sink). I called the company immediately, and they arranged for my plumber to return within an hour--he fixed the issue and apologized. what really struck me was it admitted that he had made a small error that caused the problem rather than trying to evade responsbility. mark of a true professional. I highly recommend this company.

Mark was on time, very nice and Informative. Once he identified the problem he called his boss, Bob for next steps as a part was needed. Bob would not allow Mark to pick up the part and get the job done. He told Mark to tell me it was outside their skill set for this new water heater. I was supposed to call Reed Wright Plumbing. Apparently they knew what to do. Mark left me the part store and part I needed he told me that my husband could wire it - easy. The problem was my husband died in November so it would be up to me. Mark thoughtfully apologized. I was frustrated and disappointed not in Mark but in the OWNER, Bob. What a waste of time and money. I certainly hope they don't bill me but I was told it is $70 just to come out for the first hour. I would NEVER recommend Bobs to anyone.

I am very happy with the service provided and the price I paid. I would recommend and hire again.

The company was great when I had to reschedule and the young lady I talked with was very helpful. The gentleman that did the service was not the most professional. I think people should choose their words carefully. At one point when cleaning out a clogged pipe he said he thought he was going to vomit. It was only food. Having said that, the work is fine and our disposal works. It was just uncomfortable and unnecessary. Perhaps a class on dealing with your customer is in order.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was fine. They came out right away after I purchased the Big Deal. They were great; just fine.

I called and was able to have service within an hour! Tim (I think it was Tim), was professional, courteous, efficient, non-nonsense. Very punctual, clean, didn't treat me like I was stupid (I loved that!) I was especially pleased with the pricing!! I have had a favorite plumber but he works for a larger company and the prices are more than twice what I paid this time. I feel a bit disloyal, but I think I'm going to stick with Bob Oates Company, for now. Sometimes the smaller companies can offer better services and pricing, and especially for the simpler jobs, I am delighted to have this option. He didn't try to up sell me and let me know that my problem should be well fixed by the clean-out, which does match with something I heard from another plumber the last time I had a clean out. I am very relieved!

The quote was high and bogus, they quoted me with out looking at the job and what had to be done They quoted the job at 2 hr @ $280.00 per hr and it took .75 hr @ $220.00hr They quoted the parts @ $55.00 and it took $20.75 of parts They quoted me $250.00 to clean the drain (snaking out all 12 inches) All in all they were trying to screw me they wanted $1004.66 for $205.64 job

He was great. He is actually going to come back out to complete the job. I had to order some items that he needed.

I have a small rental home. The tenant called complaining of a "sewer-like" smell. I had used Bob Oates before with good results so called them. They got right out and took a look under the house. The issue was a small break in the kitchen drain line which was spewing grey water (including garbage disposal waste) into the crawl space. Apparently when the house had been remodeled by a previous owner the plumbing work had left a "lip" in the drain pipe where water and waste tended to sit, and that had rotted a hole in the cast iron pipe. The plumber quoted $2200 to replace 30 feed of drain line from the kitchen to the main drain line. When questioned further the plumber said that was less than $200 in materials and four to five hours of labor. I said you're billing me $400-$500 dollars per HOUR?? I was told that they bill by the magnitude of the job..... When I called the office and asked for a supervisor, the only person available was the dispatcher who was not at all interested in listening to what I was saying and kept talking over me telling me what a great plumber this guy was. That's fine, but I"m not paying $400 an hour for a plumber! I get that working in that crawl space is icky. But that's what plumbers DO! I ended up calling another plumber who looked at it, said it could be fixed by removing and replacing about two feet of pipe (including the lip portion) and fixed the whole thing for under $200!! Needless to say I was not pleased and won't be using Bob Oates again. I was really disappointed by this experience, especially after my previous good experience with them.

Work was done well, small issue was resolved the day after it was discovered, even though it was a Saturday. Company called to tell me tech would be late on second work day, which was appreciated. Not cheap, but good work done.

I think their price is good. Overall, it was a good experience.

I had a terrible time trying to get contact from this provider trying to schedule and when I did get a call the person was a little rude. I chose not to utilize this vendor.

Their dispatch kept in constant contact. Because of an emergency, they had to reschedule but were very willing to find the most convenient time for me. The actual installation was done within an hour, including removal of the old tank. The installer even took time to secure the outlet pipe to the wall where it was unsupported. Prompt, efficient, and professional.
