Bob Oates Sewer Rooter & Plumbing LLC

Got a call on a late Saturday afternoon from the downstairs unit of our duplex. The bathtub was filling up with water and food particles from the upstairs unit. Called Bob Oates based on the good reviews. It was about 4:00 pm when I made the appt, and was given a window between 5 and 7 pm. Got a call from the plumber around 6pm to advise the problem was fixed. Paid the emergency rate, but felt it was reasonable. Very happy with the outcome, and won't hesitate to use them for future needs.

I received a flyer in the mail yesterday stating "We will beat any competitors written estimate by 10% on all work". When the estimator came out, he gave me an estimate that was over $1,000 higher than the written quote I received from another reputable company a week earlier. When I showed him the estimate and the mailer from his company, he refused to honor the advertisement and suggested that I hire his competition. I think I will do exactly that. Thanks for wasting my time with false advertising, Bob!

Plumbing on a rental. The price was reasonable.

The experience was pretty good. They came here pretty professionally. They were very polite and very professional. It was a big deal purchase. The price was very good. Their responsiveness was pretty good.

Before purchasing the deal, I called the company and asked if their plumber could perform a gas line hookup to a cook top & was told 'Yes.' When he arrived, he called his supervisor to ask if he was authorized to do the hookup and the supervisor said 'No.' I really liked the plumber, and I think he would have done a great job, but as it turned out, he wasn't able to perform the work. It was a good experience; just not what I hoped to get and what I paid for.

Everything went smoothly. No problems.

Upon inspection of the broken garbage disposal, the technician informed me that it had to be replaced due to long term wear and tear. Konrad the technician was very polite, and was gracious enough with his time to wait over 20 minutes when I forgot my keys and had to retrieve them from home. He was very efficient with his time and the installation of new garbage disposal happened quickly. Konrad also gave me the special offer for new garbage disposal that Bob Oates Plumbing provides on Angie's List. I would most likely call them again when I had any plumbing issues. Konrad also gave me a bandage and antiseptic wipe when I cut my finger from unrelated matter.

They had to use a concrete saw and jackhammer to remove the cement to get at the broken pipe and replace it., This took 3 days and we had to move out for that period of time. They did the work professionally and did an excellent clean up. Work was finished on time and the repaired concrete floor looked fine.

Skylar was punctual and got the repair done quickly. I was a little confused when he did not know that the repair was pre-paid with the exception of sales tax. However, after providing the order receipt and verifiying purchase with his employer, continued the repair without further ado. Would have liked a little more information about care for the garbage disposal at the end of the repair. There was no manual provided nor direction on care or maintenance that I could take to avoid future issues. I know the make and model and can find this information online if required. I appreciated the quick response as we have only one kitchen sink which made it so that we could not use it until the garbage disposal was replaced.

I purchased the side sewer inspection video through Angie's List, which they performed. They found roots in the line, and recommended a water jet cleaning, which cost $950, as well as pipe relining (many thousands of dollars). We cannot afford to do that much work right now, so wanted it roto-rooted. I told them I understand that isn't as effective, but it will keep us from backing up until we save the money for the relining. The were not interested in doing the mechanical cleaning, and to date we have not received the video of the inspection. In hindsight, I should have purchased a video inspection and cleaning from another company.

They came out on a weekend, within an hour of my call and there were no extra fees!

It took three hours to connect sink kitchen sink pipes and disposal, including going to the store for a part. It took an hour to find the part and get back. The price was higher than other quotes to install the entire sink and I just needed the pipes connected. Next time I will use a different company. The plumber left a thick residue around the drain that I needed to clean up after he left.

It's worth the price because we ordered things to be put in. They're very nice, very well-done, and did a terrific job. We were very pleased.

The estimate was provided promptly, and clearly delineated the costs (and additional costs) involved. The service proceeded as planned, without any surprises. The staff was courteous and professional.

I used an Angie's List deal for the inspection. It ended up costing more because there was no place to access the sewer pipes in my old house other than through a toilet, which required the tech to remove the toilet and replace it afterwards, for an extra charge. The tech was very tidy and helpful, and it was fascinating to watch the little camera go down the pipe and then see inside. No serious issues were revealed, but I got a quote for a replacement just to see what it costs (a lot more than I had realized!)

Jeremy arrived in good time and went right to work. He had to remove a pipe to clear a deep clog in the bathroom sink and he checked the sink carefully afterwards to make sure it was running well again. He cleaned up any mess he made very well. Jeremy was very personable and pleasant to work with a did a great job in a timely manner. I would ask for him again in the future.

Very punctual Had the job done in the time he said Was tidy Recommended and installed a leak alarm which is good since I live in a condo and am frequently out of town.

They were great. I will probably use them for my water heater.

They wanted to come back the next day and do work that was not needed. They tried to up sell the job.

They were very prompt, responsive and professional about their work and their communication. Even though their bid was the highest of the 3 I got, I chose Bob Oates because the Project Manager was very professional and convinced me they would do a first-rate job. And they proved themselves!

I originally scheduled a sewer cleaning, which I thought I needed because of a poorly draining fixture. The appointment was made a couple of days ahead of time. Someone called in advance of the two-hour arrival window to confirm that the technician was on his way, and he ended up being a bit early (which worked fine for me). When Konrad arrived, he looked pretty young, and my first thought was that he might be inexperienced, but he won me over right away and turned out to be very competent, professional, and a great communicator. He quickly determined that the drainage problem was most likely due to a failed vent, rather than a blockage, but because it couldn?t be accessed without opening up the wall, I decided to tackle that repair another time. I still wanted to make sure that there weren?t any issues with the sewer line, so he recommended a camera inspection for less than the cost of sewer cleaning (which would also have included a camera inspection). If it turned out that cleaning was needed, I would still have the option to upgrade to that service. Fortunately, the inspection didn?t show any serious problems, and I?m glad to have peace of mind since we did not have the sewer inspected prior to purchasing the house 11 years ago. Konrad did a good job protecting the floor and other surfaces while working and left everything clean when he was done. I also appreciated that he invited me to stay while he worked and talked me through the inspection, since I didn?t know what to expect. As a bonus, he fixed a wonky sink drain, and didn?t even charge me for it! Overall, a great experience and I would not hesitate to call on them again.

I bought a Big Deal package online for $799. I requested quick service because the old water heater had started to leak. They showed up at my house the next morning at 9AM. My water heater is in the garage.

Removed old water filter and cleaned up mess. Installed new one which works well
