Jeremy was great and professional when assessing our problem. He was able to guide us in the right direction even though his company did not do septic work. The only downfall was the 15 minute diagnosis rate was $117. I am totally fine paying for services but this seemed like a steep price for only 15 minutes. I would definitely use Bob Oates in the future if I have any other plumbing issue and hope maybe prices were a little more reasonable :)

Customer service doesn't get better than Bob Oates Plumbing, and specifically the customer service of plumbing manager John Peterson. I had to fire the crooked general contractor who was working on my home, adding a bathroom downstairs. (We discovered the contractor had done electrical work himself and passed it off as being the work of a licensed electrician, at their rate as well. I feared the same with plumbing. He supposedly used a plumbing business that isn't highly rated - by anyone.) Trying to pick up the pieces of this made-for-TV mess, I asked my familiar plumbing business, Bob Oates, to prepare the roughed-in pipes for a water test by a plumbing inspector. Simple, yes? Simple, no. Bob Oates came out -- manager John Peterson himself -- and immediately noted several issues with the plumbing that had to be addressed before the water test could take place. On very short notice, his team rectified the issues, set up the water test, and today the plumbing inspector passed everything. Folks, this is why you go with reputable businesses, in Seattle and elsewhere. Bob Oates has been around a long time, and they stand behind their work. That's terrific -- but they even go the extra mile to fix the shoddy work of other plumbers -- or perhaps in this case a contractor doing the work himself and passing it off as a licensed plumber? Regardless, just when you think there is nothing but crooks and con artists in the world of home improvements and repairs... along comes John Peterson and Bob Oates Plumbing, restoring my faith in humanity, in kindness, in customer service. You get a zillion gold stars in my book.

Jeremy and Jeovany were prompt (even early) and were extremely professional and knowledgeable. They took care of our drain problems in a professional and polite manner. We will definitely call them for any plumbing/drain needs. The office staff handling the phones and setting up the service appointment were professional and pleasant as well. All around I would highly recommend this company. Thank you all.

Shane was an excellent technician. He was very professional. He communicated clearly and in a friendly manner all the work he was doing. He showed us the video and explained all the details about he saw.

It went very well, without a hitch. The only delay was waiting for the City of Seattle to inspect it. We didn't get the final bill until the inspection, which was the original bid. There were no problems.

Before looking at the problem, the plumber suggested more costly services. This was a concern for me. They could not unclog my sink. They then suggested that I had an air vent problem? I lived in the house for 15 years and never had a problem. The left without resolving the problem and still charged for the service of $129. I called the office and they sent out another more skilled team. They did go in the crawl space and found that the pipes had an upward vs. downward grade. Stated that the plug was build up over time and they did re-pipe without tearing out walls as the others had suggested. Final bill $700.

Jeremy is the man! I called Bob Oates, bought an Angie's List deal for toilet snaking, and Jeremy was at my house 30 minutes later. He clearly explained there was a 50/50 chance he'd be able to get the cleaning sponge out that had been flushed, and he may need to pull the toilet. Not only did he get the sponge out with the snake, he was extremely friendly and patient with my two young kids. Thanks Jeremy!

Went great, the guy was friendly and fun to talk to while he showed me everything that could be/needed to be improved. Gave a written estimate. Took about an hour all in all.

Service performed exactly as promised. Shane, who did the work, showed up promptly at the agreed time, was very professional, and easy to work with. Very happy with service.

They were great! Since I had an appointment late in the afternoon they called me to let me know that scheduled person was running late due to the job he was at taking longer than expected. Ten minutes later they called and said there was a different crew that in the area and would come and take care of my job -- so the delay wouldn't be as long as expected. Two very friendly and professional guys arrive and cheerful started work (Michael & ?). They worked quickly and efficiently and explained the area I had some concerns with and replaced the necessary parts. They moved in the new BBQ grill in place hooked it up, tested for leaks (there were none) and fired it up to make sure everything works. Price was fair for about an hour of work plus some parts. (cheaper than the other estimate I had got) I have used Bob Oates before when I purchased an Angies List deal for a replacement toilet a few months earlier. They impressed me then and I will keep using them.

I called Bob Oates for a very slow clogged drain (toilet overflowed when my washing machine drained) and I purchased an Angie's List special deal for drain cleaning. ?It was late at night so?I tried to get ahold of them through their 24/7 phone number but didn't get a reply so I sent them an email. ?They called me the next morning and were able to schedule?Shane to come out that afternoon to unclog my drain. Unfortunately, Shane quickly found that there was a more serious clog (which turned out to be a very broken clay side sewer pipe) and put me in touch with Aaron to schedule the "underground" crew to come out and repair what turned out to be a break about a foot from the house's main cast iron pipe. ?This happened to be the same week that the Seattle Times published their article about all of the breaking side sewers so I wasn't particularly surprised that it happened, or at the price I was quoted (which I actually thought was quite reasonable compared to horror stories I'd heard from others and other providers). Aaron's crew did great work, and even though the price ended up doubling because they found another cracked pipe, I'm pleased with the work, the cost, and the friendly workers (I never met Aaron himself), and though I can hope to never need to do so I would definitely choose?the Bob Oates team again. My biggest complaint (and the main reason for the B review) is that there was almost no communication from Aaron throughout this process. ?His crew would show up when he said they would (though with 2-3 day windows and them showing up?during the day, I would never know when specifically?they had), and the work obviously got done (it was up to me to peek under the boards used to cover up the in-progress work) but I felt like I was left completely out of the loop about what was going on with my property, and I had to call/email every few days to get status updates about work that had usually?been done days earlier. ?Apparently the communication extended to the office staff as well, since it was never communicated that?the money (including the Angie's List deal) I had originally paid to Shane would offset my final bill -- this was quickly resolved but it still felt a bit unprofessional to make the customer do most of the legwork.

Quick appointment times, Jeremy showed up exactly when I was told he would, in and out in less than an hour, careful to not damage any pipes.

Later I got contacted by the company that I had to make a separate transaction to pay sales tax. I don't believe it should denigrate the service provider. It was a minor oversight. I have a favorable impression with that company. Essentially they did what they promised and in general I have no issues with their personnel and the service that they provided and I was actually entertaining to have them come back to do additional work.

It was okay. It didn't solve the problem. I think they did what they were supposed to do. The reason I bought this service was because I had a clog. There is a line in the basement that takes all the waste from the kitchen and the washer and dryer, so that got blocked. They tried to unclog that and there was some foul smell because of it getting clogged which I still had an issue with. I wasn't at home at the time but my wife was. They came on time. They should have taken more time to better understand the problem and get it resolved. This was my first time to use this company.

Excellent service; Jeremy was polite, professional, and personable while taking out my old toilet and installing a new one. He was on time, explained process, and cleaned up after himself. I used Bob Oates a few weeks ago when I needed a kitchen faucet installed...I had the same exceptional service as I did today. I feel like I am in good hands when using this service!

I called this company for what I'd hoped was a few roots in the sewer line causing a blockage. The issue turned out to be a bigger deal but the very professional, efficient and friendly people from Bob Oates worked through each step, communicating very clearly about options, time and costs, and I'm happy with the solution. The first team that arrived - precisely at 8am as scheduled - was Jeremy and Graham. They worked in my freshly painted basement and I was amazed at how clean they left it - they took care to lay down protective rugs on the floor and to keep stuff from splashing around. When it became apparent that additional work would be needed, they called in "Underground Manager" Aaron to locate a spot for an exterior clean out? - Aaron was there within 30 min, before Jeremy and Graham had even finished up. They worked together to find a good spot which also happened to be a MUCH better spot than a previous recommendation - less disruptive to my neighbors. Then a second team (Josh, Casey, Kyle ) arrived to dig the new clean out that afternoon and they just got to it, worked efficiently and left things tidy as if they'd never been there (except for the new access point). Jeremy came back a following day to do the last step and took care to work within the time estimated to avoid additional costs. My experience with this company was good and I feel confident about calling them again for maintenance or anything more serious.

Went great, they were efficient and friendly. They were at our house within 30 minutes of our having called them. Definitely would call them again if need be.

After calling the manufacturer of our tank less water heater and finding out it should be serviced every 2 years and ours had been installed over 8years ago, I started calling around to find out someone who could do this. Come to find out not everyone does this work. These guys do. They came out when they said they would, ran the solution a LONG time to let it descale and gave me a $20 discount for being a new customer. I will be using their service again--and not wait another 8 years to do so. Thanks for a wonderful experience!!!!

They were incredibly responsive on the phone, sent two guys over within 30-40 minutes. Everything was done well with no problems. The price seemed way too high for what they did.

After I purchased the deal I called Bob Oates to schedule an install. Jeremy called to say that he was on his was and would arrive in about 30 minutes. He was friendly and professional. The work went quickly and he made sure get the toilet sitting firmly with no wobble (harder to do since the tile floor is not uniformly flat). Happy with the toilet and quality work.

Excellent! The office called to schedule an appointment to take place in the next few days. Jeremy arrived right on time, and explained what he was doing every step of the way. I would hire them for more complicated jobs.

The two guys that came out were great. There were some problems figuring out the creative sewers installed in my 1929 house but they persisted and found a way to make the video inspection work. Very helpful, very cheerful.

Showed up promptly, was very friendly and got the job done in the estimated amount of time.
