Bob Oates Sewer Rooter & Plumbing LLC

Plumbers arrived in a pair and immediately informed me it was probably just a hole in the driveway and that they couldn't read the side-sewer card so they couldn't be sure. Told me almost immediately (without even checking the drain) that it probably should be ripped up and tied into the sewer/downspouts. I provided a copy of the side-sewer card which indicated the drain did just that. They said "well, it's way easier to just SAY they tied it in in these old houses." Once they attempted to run their power snake it wouldn't start and they spent 20-30 minutes trying to turn it on before finally using a hand snake like any homeowner has handy. After a 2-3 minutes of snaking and finding a few pebbles they said "yep, it's just a pit full of mud and rocks" and trying to quote me tying in to the line. I pointed out the clean out that should access the line but they said "no, that won't reach into the pit there. They're not connected. We can get started connecting it today." When I said no, I'll go with someone else they cautioned against "big companies" who "just want to get big ticket work" and I still refused. At the end of the day, having done nothing to fix my issue but try to sell me a $3800+ service I didn't need, they charged me $250+tax for the trip. Later that day? Another company showed up, opened the drain and found the rocks. After a minute or two of scooping out debris they flushed the cleared drain which happily emptied into the sewer line. Total charge was $175+tax. I attach images of both invoices indicating the two services. The cheaper of the two fixed my issue.

They did it even though it meant running the router several times through the line.

Fine. A small repair was made to the piping.

It took them 3 trips to complete due to odd parts that needed to be ordered. Mikey did a great job.

Everything was great and I would call them again for any plumbing problems. The only complaint I have is with the other time I purchased a deal through Angie's list, the company contacted me right away to schedule the service. This time I had to call them because after 3 days nobody had contacted me. As soon as I called they scheduled the service right away and everything was great! UPDATE 10-5-16 This is an addition to my previous review because there was a voicemail from the company when I got home. So they I did contacted me.

it went well, but the first thing out of the techs mouth was this was going to cost more than you paid, he used the excuse that the clean out was not easily accessible as stated in the fine print of the deal. thus from the get go you feel you are going to get screwed. so we just did the scope to see if there was a blockage that needed the cleaning. luckily there was no blockage so i only had to pay the original amount because he didn't have to do the rooter rooting. this was done because i am selling the property. he also added tax that i had to pay in cash, which in the past i have not had to do.

Bob Oats was terrible. John did a walk through of our bathrooms and what needed replacement, but after that strung us along for THREE more morning appointments when the new parts were supposedly going to be installed but never happened. Don't use this company.

Terrible experience. Took nearly a month to finally get everything done. They left the French drain a sloppy, muddy mess.

The coordinators and people on the phone were great. They were friendly and helpful, but the guys who came out were not friendly and one of the guys got upset when I was taking some pictures of the work getting done. In addition, they found a lot of additional charges that racked up really fast. The central office adjusted the billing and were great about making sure I was satisfied so overall I'd say okay, just hope you get some of their better folks who come out.

Better than I could have imagined. Because I had already removed the p-trap and pipe from the bathroom sink to the wall, the labor time was reduced.I had a coupon for $99 off the cost. I thought the coupon meant that the total cost would be $99, so I was initially alarmed when told than the coupon meant $99 off the total cost. But the total fee ended up being only $9.95 (nine dollars and ninety nine cents) to clear my bathroom sink pipe (in the wall) with a snake. The plumber was friendly and very professional.

Bob Oates is an excellent company! I've used them several times, and will use them again.

All tasks went extremely well. All personnel were friendly and polite, competent, and they stayed that way through several 80 degree plus days. All services were timely, quotations were accurate (the concrete driveway cutaway required an additional estimate due to newly discovered problems). I would recommend them for any sewer line work.

Purchase a $129 service offer to unclog a toilet. Ended up paying $250 because the service offer is not exactly the work that is needed to get the job done. This is nothing unusual since I didn't understand what work is needed for what situation. This is the best plumbing work experience I ever had over many years of being a home owner. Not only that the technician is highly professional, he is genuinely concern about delivering good service and high satisfaction the whole time. The only B rating on responsiveness is just my expectation of getting an scheduling email within a day or two but no email was received. I waited 4 days and finally picked up the phone and got an appointment for the next day. However, the service team had an accident and I was not informed. They were not able to do it with the snake or jamming the camera and recommended hydro jetting that is over $1000. I told them I had Jim Dandy out a little less than a month ago for the same thing and that there is a sharp worn out 90 degree turn and it's very tough to get past it. They tried with the snake and the camera said the sewer line probably collapsed. I was pretty adamant about the tough corner but they said they would have got the camera around it. I saw the blade on the snake came back clean and not any remnants of stuff like TP, dirt, crap, tampons, ect. I knew it wasn't collapsed and they were just banging the corner. I asked them to do it again and they said it wasn't worth it and should just do the hydrojetting. They were banging a groove in the corner over and over and not getting around. I ended up passing and saving a bunch of money by not hydrojetting. They were nice though.. I called Jim Dandy to come out since they were just there less than 30 days ago and they tried 2 blades and got around the corner and fixed the problem. After they scoped it and everything was fine. I would hope that Bob Oats would refund my money since they were not able to clear it. Eric

Operator was great. Tech came out in less than 30 mins. The repairman Jeremy was a great guy. Clean and interesting to talk to. He was very knowledgable. After walking around the property to find our main sewer line and being unable to find one (because it didn't exist) he advised me that he would have to remove a toilet. He was done in about 30 mins or so. The work area was left clean and neat. After talking about a few other plumbing repairs/tasks I might consider, he was on his way. I would certainly use this company again. I did feel the price was a bit high, but I am a first time home owner and right now every price seems high. This was my first experience with plumbing issues and it was pretty smooth to say the least. I'm happy that I can flush my toilets again and take a shower. Thank you.

Bob Oates Sewer and Plumbing sent one of their technicians, Jeremy, out right away. He arrived within the hour! He analyzed the situation, broke down what could be the reason for it, and gave us a plan on how to best mitigate our problem. I was really impressed by his professionalism and courtesy towards our situation. I will definitely call Bob Oates next time we have a plumbing problem.

Jeremy from Bob Oates arrived early (after calling to verify it was okay) and was courteous, pleasant, and professional. He augered the toilet and inspected some issues we had with it. He suggested some options and was helpful but not pushy. We'll likely need to replace the toilet, and will probably pick Bob Oates to do it when we do.

They were on time first thing in the morning. Our drain consultant, Jeremy, was very efficient and did a great job of setting expectations both about the service and the price. Upon completion, Jeremy provided us with a recommendation for Hydro Jetting which we will be moving forward with. Professional, on time, articulate, and would definitely do business with them again.
