Extremely high quality work. I'm very happy with it. I can't see where the new drywall meets the old, and Mike also went through and patched and cleaned up a number of other little spots which were slightly damaged over the years. It took a few weeks after that for them to be able to schedule me in for the crawlspace insulation, but I was in no rush at all, so that didn't bother me in the least. Jeff was very apologetic about how long it was taking for him to find time for me, but I kept telling him not to worry about it.
Description of Work: First had them install new drywall in my laundry room where it had had to be taken out after washer hose broke and flooded. They came out on a Saturday to get it done quickly so I could get the flooring and painting done as soon as possible. Then installed new insulation in the crawlspace which also had had to be ripped out from the flooding.

There was some difficulty in getting the new plumbing and electrical outlets (done earlier by other companies) to fit together in the small space behind the washer. Jeff returned after the first drywall work and finished up the job very well.. The wall looks good as new. Great people to work with.
Description of Work: Drywall replacement and painting needed after a wall was torn out to replace plumbing and electrical outlets in laundry room. Jeff and Mike did the drywall work and painting.

Jeff Baldwin is a very professional person that I would be happy to do business with again. He was responsive to my original request for a bid, and then billed exactly that bid and even did some extra items throughout the house such as refinishing a couple spots that did not match the overall drywall in our stairwell. On the final job, Jeff did some prep work, and then I had to have a lighting man in. I got a call in the afternoon before the lighting man was supposed to be here that he was not coming, so I was left scrambling for that work to get done so that Jeff could finish. Jeff was flexibile, and even offered me some recommendations to help me out on the electrical work. Once I got the lighting done, Jeff was back in to finish the job. He was pleasant, profesisonal, and I highy recommend him.
Description of Work: The work we had done was filing in a recessed kitchen ceiling that had old flourescent lighting. Jeff Baldwin built a frame for the recessed lighting first, then we had an electrican put in canned lights, and then Jeff filled in the ceiling drywall to one finished look . We took out a very 70's look and it now looks much more modern.

Jeff was very prompt in both coming to look at problem and giving an estimate. He and Mike showed up and the times they'd said they would on all three days that it took to complete the three steps of repair. Jeff's planning was impressive. Every day they arrived up, they knew exactly what they were going to do and focused completely on the work -- without constantly talking to each other. It was a pleasure to be around the house with them quietly working. Jeff's extras on top of the estimate were a nice surprise -- he did much more grout-filling than he'd originally estimated and, while I said I'd paint the hall closet, he did it for nothing. These are GREAT GUYS!
Description of Work: We have a 1929 Wallingford home with several ceiling and wall stains from past water damage. While the water and damage had been attended to after it happened years ago, we wanted these stains checked out and fixed. Jeff and Mike investigated, checked for mold, repaired and painted all places -- beautifully. Jeff even investigated and closed some splits in brick grouting and possible window leak.

He was terrific - he was great with communicating with me. I was there to great him on the first day (it took about 3-4 partial days), and then he would call me when he was leaving/arriving each day and describe his progress. The drywall looks GREAT! It's been almost a year now and you can absolutely not tell a difference. He also did a few very small repairs on room edges in the same area. I would use him again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: We had a situation where we had to remove 2 ft of drywall in the basement in order to have waterproofing completed by another company. We did the demo work ourselves, had the waterproofing completed and then needed someone to repair the drywall. I was very concerned that the drywall and wall texture matched - in order to look like it never happened. The owner did a great job explaining how he would do this - and he also happened to be the least expensive (by $50). He placed new drywall, mud, and texture.

Jeff and Mike showed up a week earlier and gave me a fair bid. We scheduled the work for a week later. We were very concerned about dust spreading through the house and protection of our hard wood floors. Mike and Jeff did an incredible job keeping the dust out of everything. They showed up on time and did a great job. I would highly recommend them if you want quality work by licensed proffesionals.

Jeff and his partner Mike did a great job of installing and finishing the drywall. Jeff was very responsive to my requests and offered some good suggestions on how best to do what I wanted. The finished job was nearly perfect, and they were very careful about keeping things clean, controlling the dust, and cleaning up at the end. His bid was competive with the others I received and had a few extras in it the others didn't include. Overall, I was very satisfied.

Jeff is a really nice person to work with. He performed the work while we were away from home. He was great about checking with us daily for progress reports. We felt empowered working with him. He and his partner finished it on time, on budget and it looks better than before. We would highly recommend him to anyone who has any drywall needs. Greg and Judy Oehling
Description of Work: We had a problem with a leaky basement in the living room and bedroom of our West Seattle home. Jeff Baldwin identified the problem, informed us of concerns with the project, and fixed it 100% to our satisfaction. He told us of problems that arose, checked with us for any additional damage found, showed us his work as he completed portions, and fixed it beautifully. They ripped out old drywall, fixed several places where our basement was leaking, found additional damage that we weren't aware of (some fire damage from a previous homeowner and also termite damage.) They replaced the wood that needed replacing, made sure our furniture/electronics were safe and covered and replaced the drywall. He fixed it as if it were his own home- and we are very confident that it was fixed correctly.

I contacted Jeff to bid for our drywall installation, tape, mud, texture and prepare for paint. It involved tying into some existing drywall and a whole room with all new drywall on the walls. It included 4 closets that were all new drywall on the walls as well. Jeff gave me a bid quickly and after I received all the bids I needed to make a decision I contacted Jeff and he was able to start our job within the next 7 days. It started mid week and finished the following week on Tuesday. Jeff put up plastic walls to keep the rest of our house dust free and also used a fan to pull the air out the window keeping the dust from finding a way into the house. Everyday they cleaned up the space and at the end the clean up was amazing. I've never had a contractor clean up after themselves as well as Jeff and Mike did. Jeff even repaired a couple areas near the job that he felt he could improve the look of which was not in the project and he did not charge me for either - I so appreciated that. They were courteous in my home and very gracious to work with. I will probably have Baldwin drywall do our next project in the house because they are fast and the end result looks fantastic.

This is our second job with Baldwin (they did a spectacular job on our bath remodel), and they are wonderful. They are responsive, keep the area clean, complete the job on time, and best of all, they do a wonderful, wonderful job. The previous job on the living room ceiling was horrible, and they retextured the entire living room ceiling because they weren't good at matching. Jeff and Mike were able to texture just the one area and it matched perfectly. These guys are pros, and I will never use anyone else!

I initially got an over-the-phone estimate from another vendor, but they quoted a flat $100 per hole rate over the phone - this got me worried, without seeing the intricacies of the job, I would likely be facing hidden charges. Jeff Baldwin, on the other hand, said he would come out to the house and provide a detailed estimate. He was on vacation at the time, but quickly returned my phone call. He was worth the wait. He came out and took special note of the complexities of the job. His estimate was slightly higher, but I was confident it was more accurate to the job and it felt like an incredible value. Jeff and his crew arrived on time to begin the job. Day #1 was cutting clean lines around the holes and installing the drywall. They take extra care to protect the floors and install floor-to-ceiling tarps to protect furniture. I was able to keep working on the computer the entire time they were here. My dogs slept through the whole thing. Since three days of follow-up were needed, Jeff and I agreed on first-thing each day. They showed up on-time and were quickly in and out during the taping, plastering and painting phases. His crew is very neat, clean and polite. Total pros. Jeff went the extra mile on several occasions. We had never discussed insulation for the big holes, but he ran and got some on Day #1 which was appreciated beyond words. He also found an exterior shake single to install where the electrical service used to come-in on the other side of the laundry room hole. They primed it too - the hole is expertly sealed from both sides. The true mark of expert drywall, I can't tell they were ever here. They matched the complex, very old textures in each room. The entire house feels complete again. No tape lines - absolute perfect work. Of all the projects I've done at the house so far, this was the best deal for the dollar. Jeff provided a bid to tear out a closet wall in the guest room and also replace the master bedroom ceiling once we remove the current popcorn ceiling. I can't wait to get started on these projects later this year.
Description of Work: When we moved the electrical service from the laundry room to the guest bedroom, we were left with gaping holes in both rooms; in the bathroom, a replaced ceiling fan left an odd L-shaped ceiling gap, plus we had a giant rat hole in the drywall near the tub; and in my living room, there was a giant ceiling hole that I made after falling through while cleaning the attic. All of these needed to be patched - and each room had a different color and texture.

Jeff was punctual, clean, and did amazing work. He primed all of his work so it was ready for finish paint. He hadn't even included that in his quote. He was constantly concerned with our satisfaction and called ahead if he was ever going to be delayed. I won't be looking for another drywaller in the future, I've found my guy.

It went wonderfully. Both jobs actually took a bit less time than estimated. For the job in 2009, I got five bids and Jeff's price was very competitive.
Description of Work: Have used Baldwin Drywall twice. I used him to repair, retexture, and repaint a finished attic and ceiling that were heavily damaged by a roofer in 2010. In 2009, Jeff Baldwin tore out and re-drywalled, re-textured, and repainted a bathroom damaged by leaky plumbing and mildew. Both of these repairs were in rental houses wih tenants in residence while the work was being done. Jeff and his helper were fabulous! The repaired surfaces looked better than the original surfaces!. He was timely, fast, and super neat. There was no dust or left-over construction debris. My tenants were thrilled, and I was thrilled! This is the first on-line review that I have ever written, and I did it because I think that this company is extraordinary.

I had been doing much of the work to finish out an unfinished basement - 2 bedrooms, den, bathroom, stairway, potential kitchen area - but knew I didn't want to have to deal with the drywall portion (as so many DIYers had told me.) I started out by getting 3 separate bids. Jeff (the owner) was very responsive and came out within a day or so. He was the most helpful in terms of asking how the remainder of the work would be finished (e.g., corners, closets, etc.). I liked how he explained things to me without making me feel like I should already know it. He also suggested things that I wasn't aware of (like 'green board' in the bathroom). While Jeff's bid was about $500 higher than the lowest bid, I asked him if he could match that and he agreed. It was about $6000 for a level 4 finish, square corners, primed walls, and one room with double drywall for noise reduction. In the end, the cost was higher because I added asked for some additional space to be drywalled that previously I didn't think I'd need. And I wanted more expensive No-VOC paint. Jeff's crew was very profesional and FAST. It was amazing to watch them work. (I was doing some work in there while they were there.) There were 4 guys that put up everything in a 2 day period. Jeff came back with another helper over the next week to get everything smooth and dry. He had heaters that he set up for helping to dry the mud. About a week after everything was done, there was one small pony wall in a future kitchen area that I realized hadn't gotten smoothed (there was drywall, but not the finished with primer). I called Jeff and he was un-necessarily apologetic (it was my fault for not communicating that that area had to be done - it looked like cabinets would go over that area, but I wanted it finsihed looking for a different use in the short term). Short of it - Jeff made time to come out and do that work, smoothing it and priming it. No extra charge. I highly recommend Jeff and his team! Super nice guy as well. Very professional.

This is the second project that I have turned to Baldwin Drywall. Jeff Baldwin came out to walk through the project to give me an estimate. His estimate was within a few hundred dollars of two others I received; however, to his credit, he was very flexible in letting me handle the site protection, priming, and cleanup to bring the cost down. The guys that hung the drywall were great - showed up on time, did what was agreed upon, and were very respectful that the work was going on in our living space. Jeff and his guys did a beautiful job with the taping and sanding. He even went so far to lend us some heaters at no charge, and he offered to come back after the remodel was done to touch up some spots (again, no extra charge). All in all, it was exactly the type of experience anyone would want with a contractor. He is a true professional. I'd not hesitate to use Jeff again, or to recommend him to anyone. To top it off, we really enjoy our new space in the house - in large part due to the great drywall work, it looks great.
Description of Work: Hang drywall in basement on walls and ceiling, hang drywall in two stairwells, patch drywall in two bedrooms, the hall, the kitchen, and the master bedroom. Taped and sanded all seams.
