Jeff is a pro. Plenty of experience allows him to work with you to set you at ease about your project. He KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING. His bid came in the same or lower than the competition. Workmanship was excellent. Call Jeff Baldwin and rest easy. He is ethical and works to please--the way it should be.
Description of Work: I needed my ceiling re-sheet rocked, plus two window jambs mudded and caulked, plus one long ceiling crack fixed and two smaller wall cracks fixed.

on a tight time table between tenants and Jeff and his foreman Mike delivered on time and on budget. When everthing was almost ready, a snafu with my electricians resulted in major new holes in my kitchen wall. It looked terrible. In desperation, I called Jeff and and left a message begging for help. To my shock and surprise I received a call back from Jeff and he and Mike were back at my house 30 minutes later. They then worked until 7PM to repair the damage done by the electricians. When their work dryed overnight, they were back the next morning putting a finishing coat on their work. Simply amazing! I am a small time landlord with a few rental properties and have been in business for about 30 years. Baldwin Drywall and Jeff Balwin are the best company and company owner that I have ever dealt with - Bar None. My absolute favorites in fact. You will not be sorry to have them do work for you.
Description of Work: I had my rental house in Seattle rewired and remodeled. I needed a ton of drywall work done and I called Jeff Baldwin of Baldwin Drywall because I had been so impressed with him in the past. They did a superb job on everything, including a new kitchen ceiling and a custom built drywall soffit to hide and disguise a range fan metal duct. I was

Jeff was very responsive. I contacted him over the weekend and he replied shortly thereafter. He came Tuesday morning to give us an estimate, and was able to complete the project Wednesday afternoon. They were delayed a bit by a project earlier in the day that went longer than expected but he phoned to let us know. He was friendly and professional and we are pleased with the results. While the other guy cleaned up Jeff even offered to tape up a few other areas in the basement that needed it. We would not hesitate to call him again.

In a few words--beautifully accomplished, professionally organized and planned, good cleanup afterward--on budget and on time! So now, in a few more words -- the job was not an easy one. The ceiling was around 50 years old. It consisted of sheets of 4 x8 bamboo strips stapled to plywood panels. Jeff and his partner not only took it all down and out, they vacuumed to be sure they got all the staples off the floor afterward. The painting added a finishing touch and gave the project a look of newness which really pleased us. So too, did their work on a small closet in the room which we hadn't even included in the contract. (A significant improvement on what would have been my 'DIY' effort in the coming week). The same high standard of 'service to our clients' was evident in the bathroom work. Again, it was case of cleaning out very old material and replacing it with new. It too, turned out beautifully done -- along with the caulking applied around the sink (which also was not included in our original discussions with Jeff). I'd like to extend my highest recommendation to Baldwin Drywall for providing us with the opportunity of benefitting from the effort that they put into and the quality of what they produced to replace and improve our home.
Description of Work: Replaced the ceiling in an upstairs bedroom--took out the old and replaced it all with a layer of drywall., trimmed, primed and finished the new ceiling -- and cleaned out the old caulk in the bathtub and replaced it by reapplying a new line of caulk around the bath, along the floor, and around the sink.

Jeff came to look at our project on a Saturday morning, got us a proposal Saturday night and started the job on Tuesday. He and his partner took great care in protecting our house from the drywall dust that the project created. They did a very professional job and the finished product looks great. I would recommend Baldwin for any drywall project.

Great guys! Arrived on time, were fast and courteous to my wife. Kept in good communication the whole time. Would use them again!

Overall, this was the best contractor experience I have ever had. This is a small 3 - person company. It took Jeff and myself a couple calls and emails to connect but once we did it was flawless. They came out within a day to give a bid. Once we confirmed start dates, I had to delay it with 1 day notice. Jeff reworked his other projects to address a last minute issue on my side. Jeff called each day to let me know when they would arrive and what work they would get done. They are perfectionists and even went as far as to ask me "what else they could to make sure I was satisfied". They were very flexible with scheduling, put up lots of extra plastic to minimize dust and cleaned up every day. I strongly recommend Baldwin Dryall.
Description of Work: We had a 400 Sq. ft. workshop under the garage that we wanted finished out for a 5th bedroom . Scope of work included light framing for new closet and concrete pillars,, some insulation replacement, installation of drywall on ceiling, drywall patching from electrical rough in, installation of new sliding glass door, purchase and installation of 2 sets of closet doors, texturing, mudding, sanding and painting of entire space. Also some light drywall repair, texturing and painting in adjoining laundry room due to electrical work.

We hired Jeff Baldwin to repair two ceilings after the asbestos (popcorn) had been removed, demolish a wall with water damage and put up new drywall, fix assorted holes from electrical work on lathe and plaster walls and wooden baseboards, complete a partial wall and remove texturizing on walls in our basement, approximately 700 square feet. Jeff was fantastic to work with, nice, punctual professional and very knowledgeable about his craft. He had a tough timeline to work within, he was in between the electrician and the painters (something he?s definitely used to) and we kept adding to his workload as the electrician had to cut more holes and trenches. He handled this extra work really well, and worked longer hours to get it done for us in time. He has excellent attention to detail and the work he did in our home looks amazing. A great example of this is how he was able to maintain the integrity of our shadow molding in one room and create a perfect edge where the new wall connected to the crown molding in the living room. Not only is Jeff a reliable and hard worker, but his finished product looks wonderful as well! He?s also got a great attitude and was extremely gracious when I added to his workload ? he could have kept adding to his original bid, it wouldn?t have been unreasonable for him to do so, but he stuck to it and delivered more than I had expected, while staying on budget. I would absolutely hire him again and hope to do so in the future!

Jeff was wonderful to work with. Him and his crew were punctual, skilled, and worked long hours to get the job done. It took about a week, but they paid great attention to detail. I was home several days with a toddler and they were very accommadating to make sure we could get to places in the house that we needed and to leave before dinner unless pre arranged. We look forward to using them again for our next project.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OVERALL! After "shopping around", I selected Baldwin Drywall (BD) for texturizing work I needed done in bonus room, living room/hallway, and bathroom. My overall experience with Jeff and his "crew" was very unpleasant and here's why I have rated this company an "F" (despite other good reviews I saw which is what persuaded me to choose them over the other contractors):1. Punctuality - Just as other reviews noted, BD workers (Jeff and whomever else he brings with him) are consistently late and ALL 3 times Jeff came to my house he arrived 45-60 min late. MY time is just as valuable as his - ESPECIALLY when I'm taking off time from my job during the day to meet w/ him. 2. Quality - When the work was finished on day 2, I noticed the texture material was very unevenly applied in a number of places and not consistent (some areas too much concentrated coverage causing texture to not even be visible, other areas not nearly enough coverage and paint color underneath was very visible). Because BD crew left the house after job was completed and before I could get home to do a walk-through w/ them there, I had to ask Jeff to come back to address my concerns and he initially said he would have to charge me for the time (say WHAT???) if he came back. I was shocked to say the least that someone who showed up nearly 1 hr. late THREE times now wanted to charge ME for his time??? Eventually, Jeff agreed to come "free of charge" and then tried to convince me that the inconsistencies wouldn't matter or show up once paint is applied. I know from past experience this is NOT true, esp. in rooms with a lot of light! 3. Professionalism - Reluctantly, Jeff said he would fix the areas I pointed out and his idea of "fixing" the problem was showing up with a can of texture spray (I could have done that myself but that's not what I was paying BD to do)! He also brought along a young teenager (his son?) to help him fix these issues and I was shocked because I hired 'professional contractors' to do the work, not kids. The other big issue was that when I came home after the job was completed and Jeff & worker had left, I found footprints of texture material throughout the living room and down the hallway and sprayed texture material was visible around the entire perimeter of these rooms as well. BD had determined that since I was replacing the carpet eventually, they didn't need to protect it and took the liberty of trashing it (I had company arriving in two days to stay with me and now the carpeting looked horrible!). This is a complete lack of professionalism on Jeff's part! 4. Resolution - Because Jeff arrived 1 hr. late to the final appt. to correct the issues and I had a previous appt elsewhere, I asked Jeff to come back to do the final work but needed it done before my guests arrived. When Jeff failed to schedule a new time with me, I had to hire another another drywall contractor and professional carpet cleaning company to get the work done, which cost me an additional $199. I deducted this amount from the original invoice amount of $1,752 and promptly mailed a check to BD. The check was cashed and needless to say I was SHOCKED when I received an email indicating I still had an outstanding balance of $199 and that if it wasn't paid, a lien would be put on my house. I have since explained to BD that, legally speaking, the matter is closed and no other action can be taken against me. 5. Other - To make matters worse, I discovered a few days later that an expensive japanese maple tree in my front yard had been sprayed with white texturzing material (as Jeff or his partner cleaned their equipment I'm guessing?) and I can't get the stuff off without breaking the delicate leaves. I'm furious because I had intended to sell the tree and now I cannot. I also found a handful of nails covered with the white texturizing substance on my front lawn (actually my DOG found the nails).
Description of Work: I hired Baldwin Drywall (BD) to spray texture material onto walls in a bonus room, my living room/hallway, and main bathroom. The "crew" was comprised of Jeff (the owner) and one other guy. According to the work order, BD crew was to A) patch a hole in the living room wall and another hole in the bathroom wall as well as some minor "dings" in other walls B) Mask doors, windows, fixtures (doors and floor trim had been removed by me) then C) texture walls & ceiling in living room/hallway and bathroom and just walls in "bonus room". TOTAL area of all rooms to be textured is less than 800 sq. ft! Did not include removing masking or cleaning as I was going to be painting immediately after job was done. Carpeting in living room/hallway was going to soon be replaced after texturing & painting was complete and although I had told BD this, I did ask that they still be mindful of keeping carpet "decent" as carpet replacement would likely not happen for another 30 days (new carpet in bonus room *WAS* masked and covered). All work listed on the work order was completed.

This is the second time we hired Baldwin Drywall Inc for our home projects. Both times the work was done quickly, cleanly, professionally, and the end results were amazing. They are true artisans that are always on time and friendly. The experience we had with these guys was far superior to the experiences with other contractors we have had at our home (and there have been multiple contractors over the years). They are the type of people we are happy to hire and refer to others!

Jeff's crew of two was himself and another guy, both super professional, friendly, and perfecty nice to have working in the house. They were piled up with work and this was right after the big snow, so they ended up starting a few days late but this was not a problem for us. They had more trouble than they expected with the wallpaper underneath but came back until it was perfect and guarantee the work. We are really happy with the quality, price, professionalism. Jeff even threw in final coat and sanding on some mud work my husband had begun on an arched passthrough. This was above and beyond, and it came out really nice, like everything else. Thank you, Jeff.
Description of Work: We had a lathe-and-plaster bedroom (1925) with a lot of holes in the walls from blowing in insulation, wiring, removing a heat vent and installing a heater. We wanted the walls patched and smooth. We got a quote for over $3000 for a plasterer to do this, so decided to try a sheetrocker. Jeff came out and quoted us $975 to patch all the holes and skim coat the walls to a smooth finish. He said we did not even need to remove all the old wallpaper. We agreed and ended up adding a closet as well, for another $300.

Jeff got back to me quickly after my initial inquiry call, and followed up via email with an estimate. He and I exchanged a couple emails and set a date without issue. The day before the was to arrive, he called and said they were about half a day behind schedule on a larger job they were working on, and asked if it would be okay for them to arrive in the afternoon instead of the morning. I appreciated him calling and arranging this as soon as he realized they wouldn't be able to keep the original time slot. When they arrived, they were both very professional and nice. They got to work right away, and I got an email from him about 3 hours later that they had finished the patching portion without issue and would be back the next morning to paint after it had dried. We saw the work they did so far that night, and it looked great, even before being sanded and painted again. They arrived about 20 min late the next morning, but called to let us know ahead of time again. I had to run out to work again, so I never saw them actually doing the work. However, when we got home, it was as if the holes had never been cut in the ceiling. Really excellent work on patching, matching the texture, and painting. They had done an extra-careful job of cleaning up, going as far as wiping down our wood floors as they left to ensure there were no footprints. We didn't see a single paint splatter so they must have done a great job of covering and protecting our floors/furniture, mounted TV. Would definitely recommend and use them again. He mentioned they do all sizes of jobs, from patches like ours to fully finishing out rooms with drywall, so I'm sure something will come up!
Description of Work: We had Magnolia Audio/Video install some in-ceiling speakers in our home, and in order to do so, they had to cut 5 rectangular holes in our ceiling and wall. We had Jeff and his assistant out to patch the holes, match the texture of the wall and repaint.

Jeff and Mike (and the other Mike) did a great job. The initial estimate was given promptly and was in the same ballpark as 2 other companies. They were able to start within 1 day after I received the estimate and they worked long hours (and on Saturday) to complete the job. They stuck to their estimate and did a terrific job in a crooked old house with 9' ceilings and alot of funky corners. I only asked them to get it to the point where I could prime and texture (which I did) and it looks perfect.
