Description of Work: They replaced broken water pipe between house and the main service valve (at street). They used a unique "molding" process to tunnel the pipe under the concrete driveway.

Description of Work: I was informed by my water utility meter reader that I was using water at an extremely high rate and to shut it off and find the leak. I shopped the internet and Angies list for comparison repairman and selected Akers, looking for someone to replace the entire line without having to dig up my driveway and someone who was not getting complaints I didn't like to hear. My water line was 45 years old and had been repaired once about 25 years ago due to a major leak in the front yard. I called Akers for a bid and they came by immediately and gave me an estimate for a new line, from meter to house as I requested. I considered the bid for a few days vs a repair which I would have done myself with neighborly help. I found the leak location after a few days, not very far from the first leak years ago. Although a repair would have been much cheaper, I decided to go with Akers bid and not worry about another break at an inconvenient time plus I'm now 70 and don't need the headache. After I approved the bid and scheduled it, Akers applied for a permit and said they would be out probably Wed to repair and would confirm after the first of the week. They called Monday to confirm and showed up Wed an hour earlier than scheduled. They worked all day replacing the line and bringing the line up to code. The city inspector approved all on Thursday and Akers returned and covered the pipe that same day. The holes I dug and the holes they dug were all refilled and worked back into the lawn nicely. I was pleased with the entire job. The water line has a protective covering with a locator and my son, who will inherit this home, will not have any plumbing problems, in the near future, as I encountered.

They did what they said they would do and did it quickly and efficiently. I would definitely hire them again if I had an outside pipe problem as that is their speciality. | |I got awful (almost double) quotes from both Aurora and Apollo Plumbing (Aurora was going to charge me $900 just to see if they could hear where the leak was on such a busy street and they were going to charge that whether they could hear it or not. And Apollo gave me a quote where they said they needed to stop traffic to get the job done with almost double the cost of what I paid. I will never call either of those companies again and Akers didn't need to stop traffic to fix the pipe.

Description of Work: Akers replaced the pipe connecting the water meter to the inside plumbing of our house in Everett. They replaced the concrete vault for the meter and we could not see any disturbed area of the yard in the area that they ran the new pipe. Great job!

Description of Work: Directional drilled and replaced my two water lines from the street to the house. Installed a sprinkler box. Our plants were put back perfectly even though they were moved during the procedure. Things look perfect now and the water line is neatly installed. Permits and inspections were all handled by Akers.

And plumbing is in place to add an automatic sprinkler system in the future. (Andy will give us a bid this week.) They removed some old outdoor plumbing for us as well.

Description of Work: I use Akers Outdoor Plumbing Inc. for lawn irrigation services. The last time I used them was 5 years ago to install a lawn irrigation system.

Description of Work: Andy Akers has done a great deal of work for us, including an extensive outdoor landscaping job. He did this for us in 2005 however he no longer does this work. In 2009 he did a 40 foot french drain in our yard and hooked it up to the drainage from the roof gutters. We were having pooling and flooding near the house during the rains. Now the problem is fully solved and the basement no longer floods. I would fully trust Andy Akers. If he were a neurosurgeon, I would want him operating on my brain!

This involved original landscape design, site preparation, brick masonry, iron work, concrete work, carpentry, plumbing and irrigation, low voltage lighting, etc. Andy's company did all the work, except for the brick masonry, iron work and concrete pour which he sub-contracted out. He prepped the site, removed boulders, did grading, irrigation, sod, carpentry (trellis). A truly extensive job. His helpers, Pedro and Oly, are hard working fellows.
