Chapin Painting

The service I received was excellent. The work was started and finished on time. The walls and floors were totally masked off and the ceilings painted with no errant paint anywhere. The painter was polite and very professional. Should the need arise I would definitely use their services again.

Bruce Chapin and his crew were here when promised, performed efficiently, and did an excellent job of painting the house while also protecting adjacent landscaping and shrubbery. No surprises, including time to complete and final price of the job. We were very happy with the work as performed, and especially appreciative of the professionalism of Mr. Chapin and his crew. We could not be more pleased, and give Chapin Painting our highest recommendation.

Immaculate paintwork, tidy jobsite, arrived on the dates and times promised. Bruce Chapin gave good advice on changing trim paint areas to look clean and modern. I could not be more pleased with their work!

I received several estimates for exterior house painting and while Bruce's estimate was not the cheapest, it was within reason. He patiently answered questions and pointed out how he and his crew were unique. His team had lots of experience working together and the crew had been with him for many years. This was a big plus to me as I felt it was less likely something would be "missed." They took the time to remove the outdoor lights rather than just paint around them. They also had great attention to detail (e.g. we saw eye-to-eye on how to paint corner gutters so they blend in better). He also is particular about the paint he uses. I really liked that he recommended a bit of a sheen - it makes the house color pop. He was unexpectedly available to start sooner which was great but my new gutters weren't installed / delivered yet. I was able to get the non-corner downspouts delivered and Bruce was kind enough to make an extra trip over to get those painted so once they were installed it looked great. I would definitely use Bruce again and have highly recommended him to several friends. Most of all, he is just a great communicator and honest person, someone you feel comfortable doing business with.

From the first contact I had with Bruce, I felt confident about his knowledge, experience, and abilities. I received six quotes for house painting and he spent the most time with me answering questions, explaining his process and techniques, and honestly comparing them to what other contractors had told me. His prices were very reasonable (not the cheapest, but not the most expensive by far). There were a few delays in getting the crew out here and started, but he was very communicative through both phone and email keeping us updated. I really appreciate the quality of the job and the attention to detail (such as taking down our outdoor lights rather than just taping them off and painting around them). Overall, I'm very pleased and love my freshly painted house!

I put in a call to Bruce (on short notice) for an estimate and within a couple of days he returned my call and was out and gave me an estimate. It was a little higher than I anticipated but decided to go with him anyway. The painter came in... taped, spackled and patched, and put first coats on the first day and finished final coats the next day. When I went in to inspect I was so glad I went with Chapin...the attention to detail was amazing. Both Bruce and his painter were very helpful in picking the final color and explaining various details along the way. Communication was excellent. Will definitely have them back ! You get what you pay for.

Chapin Painting is exceptional. Their work quality is top notch with great care given to even small details such as a blemish in the wood work or walls. The owner, Bruce, is responsive in his communications and takes great pride in his employees and company. He admitted that his bid would come in medium to medium high and it did. Bruce's forthright manner and confidence in his company won me over and I'm glad it did. Philip did the painting, his workmanship lived up to Bruce's claim. Philip was very punctual, quiet but friendly, and very respectful that he was in someone else's home. Clean and neat they left everything tidy. I will be hiring this company again.

Outstanding. That's all you really need to know about Bruce Chapin and crew. But if you like details, here's ours: Millwork paint job that included LR/DR wainscoting, stairs plus some extras - closet doors, window, wall, ceiling water stain touch-up. We had most items moved away from the walls in advance and partially covered - they taped off & covered everything well with plastic & tarps including our hardwood floors. Do remember to point out any light fixtures you need covered against dust if they're doing millwork, which involves sanding - close doors too. After primer and a coat of paint we realized we had made a horrible mistake with the type of wood used for the flat panels of the wainscoting - way too much grain showing. Emailed Bruce who had the knowledge to fix the problem and fix it quickly - bondo and more coats of paint - resulting in showroom quality, absolutely perfect. Yes at an additional cost above original quote but well worth it - saved us from a disaster. Professional, fast, courteous, on time, quotes back quickly and in line with others, all work done well, good cleanup at job end. Great job all around.

Bruce Chapin made an efficient and well-explained survey, and often helped his colleagues Bruce and Bryan. Bruce and Bryan were very efficient and neat, and we are very happy with the result.

We got two bids in late January/early February and both were exactly the same! We liked Bruce's personality and the fact that he is a local business with long-time local employees. Bruce had to wait for our kitchen to get done and of course, things like tiles coming in for that project took time. Then we agreed to wait while Bruce had a month-long painting job. It all worked out because while we were waiting for Bruce, our kitchen designers were helping us select the right paint colors to go from the kitchen to the attached den. Also, the kitchen design company was helping us get a solid wood doors for the whole downstairs area, which Bruce was also going to paint.. We were finally able to give Bruce our color choices. The devil is in the details, and Bruce and his crew did a terrific job. Besides the walls, we wanted to get rid of the "washed oak" trim around the windows, doors, and baseboard area. With the new fir baseboard we had purchased, Bruce and his crew prepped the trim areas and gave two coats to all surfaces, including our fireplace mantle and hearth area. The guys prepped our place by carefully moving furniture away from the walls and placing plastic sheathing over the furniture and floors. They also took off wall pictures, hanging mounts, and light fixtures. They arrived promptly at our mutually-agreed upon time and worked all day without much noise. We had some hospital/doctor appointments, and we trusted Bruce and his team to our house keys and being alone in our house while we were gone most of two days. They were totally respectful of our home, especially our entry ways and new floors. They were efficient and did an excellent and professional job. We couldn't be more pleased. Great job and our thanks go out to Bruce, Brian, and Bray!!

We had previously worked with another painting contractor but decided to go on Angie's List to see what other people thought of painting companies. Bruce Chapin was one of three painting companies to submit a written bid for the work. Overall, his bid was the lowest. Mr. Chapin started when he said he would and finished on time. He was frequently on site and he communicated with me often. His workers were all friendly, helpful and very professional. They were meticulous in cleaning up at the end of the work day. At the end of the job, Mr. Chapin told me that if I found any errors, that he would send someone back to fix them. I found none. The quality of the painting was outstanding and I have referred others to Chapin Painting. Bruce Chapin is a man of his word and I have no hesitation in highly recommending his company.

Fantastic! Everything looks wonderful. They even re-painted the entry and hallways twice because WE goofed choosing the 1st color. They were great about the change order and got everything done in no time at all. I would recommend Chapin Painting to anyone looking to freshen up their home.

Bruce and his team of painters did a great job. They were always on time, fast, and were ahead of my scheduled deadline of the end of the month. Bruce always returned my calls in a timely manner. We are very pleased with the painting they did!

We contracted with Bruce (owner) early in the Spring and waited on weather for scheduling. He said they would pressure wash the house and be back within 2 weeks to paint. While the house was being washed (on a Thursday), Bruce came by and asked if we were ready to be painted on Monday! One of the reasons for selecting Chapin was their attention to detail. They didn't caulk "where needed" but everywhere. They didn't paint around the light fixtures, house numbers, etc. as some of our other bids indicated, they removed every light fixture, house number, switch plate cover and replaced them when they were done. They arrived promptly at 7 am as promised and were completely finished by Tuesday mid-afternoon. The 2-man crew was pleasant and the owner was on site working right along side them most of the time. He even brought them lunch which they shared on our front stoop. Our house looks wonderful! When it's time to do the inside, guess who we're calling.

Chapin Painting did an excellent job painting the entire interior of our house. They went above and beyond preparing the walls and baseboards which resuled in a high quality product that we are very pleased with. Bruce's quote was accurate and competitive and he completed the job on-time.
