Delta Heating & Cooling was found April 1991 and has been here locally for over 20 years. While we have moved locations, within Richland over the course of the years, we have stayed true to our roots in working on Residential systems locally in the Tri-Cities area. Our crew and staff are all focused on providing a quality customer experience. We are one of the few companies locally that offer Senior Citizen discounts, are a recognized member of the Tri-Cities Home Builder Association and Better Business Bureau. We bought our home 7 years ago. The HVAC system was 17 years old at the time but working beautifully. After a year we realized we needed to get preventative maintenance going to try to get it to last as long as we could so we asked around and heard great things about Glenn and his troup at Delta. Their preventative maintenance service kept most people very happy and for those who needed major repairs but couldn't afford them yet, they would help limp it along until they could. Those people ended up using Delta when they needed to finally replace the systems. When we called, Glenn came out and we figured out that they had installed this unit, the very same he had in his home at the time and had been doing the p.m. on it the whole time (until we didn't have it done that year). We asked about replacing it for better energy efficiency and he gave us all the info on our system and compared it to new ones, showing us that it was a very elite system for its time and still had a seer(?) rating near the highest. He suggested we keep it and just do the p.m. until it was really time. That was 6.5 years before we needed it replaced. 23.5 years out of a heat pump! They had to do, I believe, one whole repair during our time in the house. It died this spring and we were actually HAPPY to call Glenn and get moving on a new system. He told us he had just replaced his the year prior as well and I think we ended up with the same one again. We went for the one that had all the options we wanted, the best seer rating and reliability. Glenn got us hooked up with all the rebates we could find and gave us a refund on things he didn't end up needing to use. The employees are always friendly, clean and prompt and ready to work. We had the same man service our system twice a year for years and knew about his wife and children and he about ours. They ask about comfort level and other things to make sure we are happy with our system and see if something needs tweaked. When we had a wi-fi thermostat installed they were fairly new to the Delta guys. This service session they asked about it, they were wanting to make sure it was working and they could continue to recommend them to people who would really benefit from the features, faithfully. I wouldn't bother with anyone else. Ever. We look forward to many more years of working with Delta.
Description of Work: Replaced full HVAC. We've used them for years for bi-annual preventative maintenance and repair as well.

This evening our furnace quit working. With temperatures dipping into the single digits this was a serious problem. I paged Delta's on call service technician. He called me back within 10 minutes. After listening to what was going on he immediately diagnosed the problem. Due to the unusually cold weather the condensate drain line had frozen. He told me how to fix the problem and it worked. 20 minutes after I sent the page we had heat. They have made a loyal customer. Excellent customer service.

It went great, Daniel came 10/10/13 about an hour after I called Delta Heating and Cooling. He came to access what was wrong with the water heater and in 5 minutes he knew why there was no hot water. It needed a part that had to be order (3-5 days). Daniel got the old power vent motor working (temporary) till the new part got in. It work out perfect that the water heater quit working again but he was installing the new part that morning. (10/21/13). Thanks again Delta...

Delta got an A rating on all accounts. Their price was at least $2500 less than the competition, for a comparable package of equipment and work. Their dealings with the customer were the best that we interviewed. They were respectful, and straight forward, without being pushy. Finally, they did everything they said they would do, at the times they said they would do it. They were also the most knowledgeable about city energy codes, and what they needed to do to make the rebate happen. Workers were hard working and professional. They were conscientious about our house, property and plants. The company focuses on residential work, rather than chasing commercial accounts. The owner gave us straight answers. The employees did a good job. The office manager did a marvelous job of staying on top of or ahead of all aspects of the job. The feelings of being flim-flammed or pressured or bamboozled or mined for money were all wonderfully absent. What a pleasure. Based on this experience, I would happily recommend them.
Description of Work: Delta provided and installed a new HVAC system. Work included removing the old furnace in the crawl space, installing new air handler/ furnace in same place (miserable working conditions, to be sure), installation of a line set (refridgeration and controls) and a new heat pump.

My heat pump failed and stopped cooling my home on July 2, 2013, the hottest day I have experienced in the Tri-Cities since moving here over 10 years ago. I called Delta Heating & Cooling, Richland, WA the next morning before they were open for business. Delta returned my call shortly after they opened. Delta was unable to schedule anyone to make a service call until July 5th between the hours of 9:00a and noon. The technician arrived around 10:45a on July 5th. I informed him that I will have many questions since I have not previously had any issues with my heat pump. He graciously told me that my questions were welcome and he would answer them. He opened the enclosure to the outside compressor unit and immediately diagnosed a blown capacitor that needed to be replaced and why. He also identified that a previous maintenance call resulted in the installation of two capacitors in place of the original one the unit was built with. He then informed me the reason that one of the capacitors was blown was that the R-22 refrigerant was low and as a result, the entire system was running for unnecessarily long durations. He stated the R-22 needed to be recharged. He offered explanations and answers to my many questions all during the service call. I inquired about a maintenance contract and duct cleaning and he offered a reference and recommendation for another contractor for the cleaning. He also answered my questions about my ductwork although he performed no maintenance on it. He also answered my questions about a maintenance contract without pressuring me to sign up for one. He invited me to visit their showroom/shop and meet the entire staff. I never felt pressured to buy unnecessary hardware or services. My experience with them exemplifies what customer service is meant to be. I highly recommend DELTA HEATING & COOLING, INC.

Call Friday and since it was no an emergency was given an appointment for Monday morning. Tech arrived right on time went directly to work and found the problem in 20 minutes( loose wire) did a complete check of the system. explained what he had found, the repair he made and was gone in 50 minute. I was very pleased with the service, bill was in line with what other companies are charging. I would have they back if I have any more problems

I called to get an estimate for a heat pump replacement. The service rep (owner) of Delta Heating and Cooling came out immediately and gave me a bid. He was great at explaining everything that ws needed and why. I would recommend this company anytime. I did not use them in the end only because I went with another brand due to future possibilities with solar panels. Still think Delta's product was good.

Description of Work: The tech came over, and asked a few questions, then informed me that I needed a new Water heater, and he would get me a quote of what a new one would cost. He also re-lighted my water heater, which he was able to do. I received a quote from Delta , which was fine. I made a call to the American Water Heater Co., and explained to them what I was experiencing with my water heater. I was informed what I needed was a Thermocoupler upgrade which I could purchase for $33.00. I then decided to get in touch with another Plumber, since I had lost faith in Delta co. I tried calling a plumber my wife had a business card, and after a few days he called back, and I explained what my problem was, and he stated that he could do the job for me. Now in the mean time my water heater is going off, and I would re-start it, this went on for several times. After, the sixth time trying to reach the plumber who stated he would do the job, I gave up on him and got in touch with water heater co. again, and explained what was going on with my water heater. They informed me that eventually it would not be able to be re-lite. So, I went and got in touch with Home Depot, and had them put in a new water heater for about one hundred and fifty dollars cheaper than what Delta could do the job for. p.s. I still haven't received a call from the other plumber who stated he would do the job for me.

I am sorry you feel we did not give you our best service. After speaking with our technician he said he found your water heater was leaking which would douse the pilot light, hence a thermocoupler would not have fixed the problem. He re-lit your tank hoping it would function until you decided on which replacement you wanted. As I read on with your comments it seems that you are more upset with the plumber, which to clarify has no affiliation with us. I hope you do reconsider and give us another chance to show we do provide great customer service and reasonable prices. And we are aware that we cannot compete with the big box chains as we are locally owned and operated and like to stay on a more personal level with our customers.

The team arrived a few minutes early! Hurray! The job of removing the old heat pump system and replacing it with a new one went very smoothly. The crew were very professional and everythng was done neatly. Glenn, the owner, was there at the beginning to ensure a smooth start to the job and stopped by periodically to make sure all was going well. Very impressed with the Delta team, their thoroughness and love my new heat pump. The new wi-fi thermostat is awesome.
Description of Work: Replaced 17 year old Lennox heat pump that was beginning to fail with a new Rheem heat pump. I got 5 different quotes from local heat pump dealers. I spent several hours researching different brands of heat pumps on the internet and came to the realization that most of the top brands are very good. The single most important determinant to many years of good service from any top brand heat pump is its installation. With that criteria in mind, Delta emerged as having the best reputation among its loyal customer base. I have complete peace of mind that I have chosen well.

The technician was actually early, he found the problem and repaired it rather than replacing components until it worked. My gas water heater is functioning perfectly again.

Overall, the service was great. The work was done quickly and professionally. In addition, Derek answered my questions and provided additional information about the electrostatic air cleaner and the humidifier that are part of the furnace. It was reassuring to have a knowledgeable professional taking care of this problem.
Description of Work: My electric furnace kept tripping offline after 7 to 10 minutes of operation. I had isolated the problem to one circuit breaker on the front of the unit, which I would have to reset routinely. Derek, the service manager, checked for overloads and quickly found the problem to be loose connections at the breaker. He cleaned and treated the wires and tightened the connections on all the breakers. That solved the problem!

They replaced the furnace in both our house's, installed air conditioner in one house and have serviced all throughout the years.

Our AC was quitting and ice was building up. Called Delta and someone came out within a day. The fellow that came was very thorough in checking the unit and asking me questions about its history. He explained many details about my system I did not know about previously. I could tell he was knowledgeable in his profession... Unfortunately my system is aging and fixing any leaks (there are likely many) will likely cost more than a rebuild. The tech was honest about this and had good information to back up the claim. He recommended topping the system up as needed until we're ready to pull the trigger on a new one. The tech left the unit in better shape than he found it. He re-tapped all the seems he disassembled with a nice quality HVAC foil.

They came out and gave me an estimate and 2 days later they were done... They had to remove the old units and then re-locate the new A/C Unit, which didn't seem to be a problem. I even ended up with an outlet outside.. That's a bonus...

After receiving 3 other business quotes, Delta came in with an excellent bid for price, quality of unit, and an additional discount for cash payment. They removed the old unit, installed the new one within the scheduled time, did a great job of cleaning up after themselves, kept me informed as the day progressed, and were very pleasant to me, my dog, and each other.
Description of Work: I hired Delta to remove my 20 year-old heat pump and install a new, higher quality unit with a programable thermostat.

Great service was provided to run new duct work and install two additional vents in my master bedroom. I will be using them for all of my HVAC work in the future. I also received great reviews for Delta from co-workers who have used them for years.

It went awesome they were here at 10 am and done at 11 and it only cost a little over 100 dollars. They blew the drain, checked the refrigerant, added a( stop gap ) to the pipe because they discovered that the water was being sucked back into the coil. They were friendly and professional and explained everything they were doing in detail. They did more than they had to and I appreciated it. Thanks Derrick & Daniel

My heat pump quit after two of the hottest days of the year. Delta sent a tech on the same day I called . The HVAC tech quickly repaired the problem by replacing one of the less expensive parts in a very professional manner.
Description of Work: The outside unit of the heat pump was not working. After I describe the problem, the tech went right to the problem, checked the capacitor and after getting approval immediately replaced the part,

I gave them a lower score because of the following:I was suppose to get a pre-call when the gentlemen was on his way so i can meet him at the house, but he was already there when I decided i probably should go check. Not a big deal, but didn't get to see what he checked or didn't check.my ac was icing up a lot, but he did say he checked the system pressure,etc, and decided my air filter was plugged. Granted i changed it two months ago, didn't think it would be that dirty. We'll see if it ices up again.but, wasn't too pleased with paying 100 for a new air filter. You think they would have given you just a service call of $50 and 20 for a filter at the most.have had others in the past that will discount, if its something simple. would i recommend them, I wanted to check a maybe, so i just checked No, will probably try another company next time to compare.
Description of Work: icing up a/c unit, one year old. check pressures, replaced filter.

Also to clarify the charges, our diagnostic fee is $78.00 and the charge for your filter was only $7.00. The diagnostic fee is our standard charge for getting our tech out and to diagnose if and what the problem is. Again we appreciate comments of all kinds from our customers, thank you.
