Delta Heating & Cooling was found April 1991 and has been here locally for over 20 years. While we have moved locations, within Richland over the course of the years, we have stayed true to our roots in working on Residential systems locally in the Tri-Cities area. Our crew and staff are all focused on providing a quality customer experience. We are one of the few companies locally that offer Senior Citizen discounts, are a recognized member of the Tri-Cities Home Builder Association and Better Business Bureau. Technician (David) arrived well ahead of the scheduled time block (calling first for okay), quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the needed part. Since the A/C is over 20 years old I was prepared to replace the unit and was relieved that it was a simple repair. David was excellent at explaining what was going on. Will definitely call again when service is needed.

They were here when they said they would be and installed my new unit quickly. They had to take down a decorative fence to get the new unit and its footprint in the proper place. They made sure to put it back up again (thank you!). My new unit is much more efficient than my last one. Thanks again, guys!

Our A/C went out when it was 100 degrees outside. I called to get a fix price and a replace price. Delta was about half what their competitor was. I've used them twice and have been happy with them both times.

These guys rock. Glen is a total professional and his crew did a great job. It took about 2 days to complete the entire job and so far the system is working well. Delta's reputation is well deserved.
Description of Work: Replace heat pump and air handler with some minor duct work changes. We installed a high end variable speed SEER 20 heat pump. Campbell bid the same job for 20K.

I called Delta and they came out the next morning. They called before they showed up, as requested. The service person was friendly but efficient, checked the heat pump and discussed his findings with me. Upon my approval, he installed the appropriate new part. Since a possibility of the failure was filters that needed changing, at my request, he checked the filters, explained to me the best timing for changing filters and quality of specific filters. In all, I believe he was here less than an hour. I would highly recommend this company based upon this single interaction.

Delta came through for us when we needed them most. We have never used them before because we have not had any issues with our Air conditioner since buying our new home in 2007. It was about 2pm when we noticed that the house was getting warm. After checking all the usual stuff breakers, thermostat, etc. We knew we had a problem. It has been super hot here in E-WA above 100 for 3 days straight. Here is the worst part for us. We are right in the middle of home remodel, We are having new hardwood floors installed and had contractors working in our home at the time. It's vital to keep the temp as normal as possible when installing these floors. They said you need to get that fixed ASAP. They finished up what they could and left. We called Delta at about 4pm but they couldn't come out right away and set the appointment for 4:30 the next day. We took it. About 1 hour later we get a call stating we had a cancellation. They arrived an hour later. Daniel the tech came out and diagnosed the issue (a bad outdoor condenser fan) and replaced the fan/motor. It was running like new again by 6:35 pm. We knew at that point our remodel was back on schedule thanks to Delta getting out to our home right away. Thank you Delta. The reason that the cost was higher than normal was they arrived after hours so it was an OT rate. $125.00 to arrive and diagnose. $476.00 for parts and labor. We decide since our home is now almost 9+ years old we got on a yearly maintenance program with Delta to come in the fall and spring and make sure our systems are up to par and running as it should. We will see them in the fall next. :-).

After calling them, they came out to see what needed to be done, said it would be an easy move. They arrived on time, updated and moved the unit and supplied a composite platform for it to sit on. Extended the wiring and tubing as needed. We are extremely happy because the heat pump was so noisy by the back door. They went above and beyond to do what we asked. I thank them for their expertise and helping solve our problem.

Went superb! Delta Heating & Cooling will always be my first choice for anything in this field! They know what to do and cost of service is not out of line. You most definitely get your money's worth! I highly recommend them!!
Description of Work: Installed a brand new heat pump,air exchanger, and air filtration system. Also had new electrical wiring to support the heat pump. All done as required by existing building codes. This also included a new Honeywell programmable thermostat. Previous heat unit in home was over 40 years old. My home is nice and comfortable with an evenness of temperature no matter where you are. The technicians were very.good and were able to get the work completed in one day. Hauled off everything they took out and did a superb job of cleaning up. I highly recommend this company!

"I am going to install an TXV valve." "How much?" "$650." "Will it make my house cooler on hot days." "Most definitely." I call to schedule appointment to have TXV valve installed. Ask again, "Will it really make my house cooler on hot days." "Yes," says the lady on the phone. Hot day comes, and it is 81 degrees in my house. I have technician come back out and explain why my house is 80 degrees. He runs tests, says everything is working fine, but that my AC unit is underpowered. "But I just paid $650 to have my house cooler, and I double checked with two different people at the company who said it would cool down my house." "Yes, but your unit is not large enough." "How come the last technician did not tell me that? And then charge me $650 to get my house cooler only to have you come out and tell me it can't be done." "Well he was just treating the symptoms." "I paid $650 to have someone treat the symptoms but not fix the problem. Although I specifically asked him if it would fix the problem, you're saying it never could have been done? Can I have my money back?" "Again, your unit is not large enough." "So had you been the first technician you would have told me that and I would have saved $650?" "I'm not sure. But your unit is not large enough." "So why did he say he could make my house cooler?" "I don't know. He is in Europe. I can't ask him." You get the idea...this went on for 30 minutes. Finally he said his boss would call me. I never received a call. $650 is a lot of money to just be guessing. If they would have done the right thing, or even offered a partial refund, I would be more understanding. But to charge me despite me asking it they were sure the $650 repair job would work...that is just disappointing.

Delta Heating and Cooling installed a new heat pump and furnace today. The quote was in person and immediately after my first inquiry, prices were very reasonable with no added attempted sale pitches for things I did not need nor want. Agreed on a scheduled date and time and the employees were very prompt, professional and personable. Followed up with a visit by the owner. Overall (granted this is the same day of installation - but I foresee no problems - unit is working fantastic) I am very pleased and impressed by everyone at Delta Heating and Cooling. Thank you Glenn, Jon, Chris, Fossil, Mike and Carisa!

I can see why Delta has so many great reviews. They not only have the most reviews on Angie's List, but the highest rated as well. It starts with the person answering the phone. She actually cared about saving me money. I received a bad diagnosis from a previous company that charged me almost $1000 to NOT fix the problem, and she wanted me to consider going back to them and see if they could perform the correct work. Sadly, this was not a possibility. Delta came out the next day after I called. Very good responsiveness. Al, my technician, explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. He really educated me. He also pointed out that the previous company did a poor job of diagnosing the problem. You could tell he did not want to bad mouth another company, but was just stating the facts. I cannot thank Delta enough for their excellent work. I highly, highly recommend.

The service tech showed up on the appointed date and time. He was pleasant. However, he did not perform the service he charged me for on the written invoice. He did not go under my house to look at the heat pump that was experiencing the problem. Had he done so, he would have found standing water around the heat pump due to a non-functioning condensate pump. This was identified shortly thereafter by a home inspector who was hired to inspect our home prior to sale. In all fairness, I called the company to file a complaint and the manager offer to send out a supervisor at no charge to recheck the heat pump.
Description of Work: Company was hired to service two heat pumps and check one for possible repairs prior to putting my home up for sale.

The house a/c was not keeping up with last summer's heat so I decided to call a service provider to check out the system before the really hot weather arrived. They ended up making two visits. The first one they identified a possible air flow problem after fully inspecting the outside heat pump unit. The 1st technician was honest and straight forward with me that the engineering aspect of air flow velocities was something he'd need assistance with from one of the senior techs. About two weeks later the original tech and a senior tech arrived. They used several different types of testing equipment for air flow and temperature differentials. All the time the senior tech was being very informative and showing and explaining everything he was doing to the other tech. Top-notch teamwork in my opinion. They found some issues with my ductwork, and worked on adjusting the blower speed to match the cooling capacity of the heat pump and the system air flow. All it cost was a standard $85 service call for each of the two days they were here. I'm very happy with the work, how they did it, and how the sharing of knowledge and experience between the two techs was wonderful to see. I will most definitely call them again if I have any other HVAC issues.

Very prompt, was able to replace hot water the same day. The one complaint I had was that the technician did not advise me that he would be cutting into the drywall. I felt that when replacing the square of dry wall, a sloppy job was done. He used caulking to seal it which oozed out and was not smoothed out.

Let me start by saying i was a little biased when selecting this vendor. 17 years ago, when we purchased our home, our mortgage broker referred us to Delta, as they were fairly new, but, he knew the owners, and they were top notch. We received the best quote from them at the time when we wanted to add an actual heat pump, but, then we were never able to finish it. I have kept tabs on them and when i seen them on the PUD vendor list, and seen they had good reviews on Angie's list, i asked for a quote. Again they came in the lower bid.... it was a no brainer who we would select. so, current day....the installation went well. They were supposed to be at my house at 11:30 or so...but, i received a phone call that they had issues with their current job and would be running late...about 1:30pm...which was fine, and i appreciated the phone call, as it let me stay a bit longer at work. Once they showed up, the guys went directly to work. They finished by 3:00 or so. Unfortunately, they had also forgotten their paperwork, so i couldn't get an invoice, but. that the office would get that to me, so they couldn't take money from me...again, odd, but, ok. I was also told that someone was supposed to come and check their work, but, he didn't have time...i thought they had said glen, but, i could be wrong. I was then told that the electrician still had to come and finish the wiring. I was a bit surprised, as i thought one of them was an electrician, but, since i've never had this done before...ok. They called him and he would not be there until after 4. ok. At least this allowed me time to pick up my granddaughter. Once the electrican arrived, he went right to work and finished by 5:00 or so. so, all is good....now...the next day i call to find out what i needed to do about payment. I was asked if i could just come to the office and pay it. well, okay. It's out of my way, but, again...ok. I went to the office, made payment, and received my receipt. the gal explained that the PUD would need to do an inspection since it was done as part of the rebate program, etc...but. i needed to wait for paperwork. again, ok. a couple weeks later i received an envelope with 3 different permits in them and a note that read, 'post these permits' and 'contact city for inspection'. i called the office to 1) Ask about the permits as they showed that they needed to be paid, and 2) to make sure i was supposed to call the city. Now this is where my frustrations begins: The gal i spoke with told me that the permits had already been paid for, but, didn't understand why the note was written that we would have to contact the city ourselves. she said they would do that. and then asked...who are you? i gave her my name, explained i just had a ductless unit put in, and am trying to complete this process. Well, she couldn't find me anywhere in the system. Are you sure we did work for you? um. yeah, i'm staring at the new unit...and you're sure that we did it? seriously? i'm holding permits in my hand that says so. sigh...after we went back and forth for several minutes, she finally just took my name and the permit number and said that she would have to do some research to find it, but, should be able to with the permit number. She then said that Delta would contact the city, and when would i like the inspection. i explained that i was going out of town, and she said that it was okay that there was no rush to get it done. So i picked a date, september 26. she then asked me, morning or afternoon. I asked is there a specific time, and she said, no, that i would need to stay home either all morning or all afternoon, as they had a 4 hr window. so, i chose the morning, between 8-12pm. She said she would get it scheduled. great, i'm set. the morning of the 26th, we waited, and waited. I had a dr. appt, at 10am, and my husband was going to wait for the city inspector before he had to leave. so, around 9:15am, i thought i had better call Delta to check on the appointment and see if i could find out a better time frame for the inspector. i was told, she wasn't sure what i was talking about, as they don't make appointments with the city...that WE were supposed to. Well, i almost blew a gasket. i explained that i had spoken with someone who made the appointment, and i was pretty sure it was her. i was told nope, they don't do that and she wouldn't have said that. then why was i asked to pick a date and time to be home? she definately sensed my anger. i'm not sure if she realized she DID say that or just wanted to make me happy, but, she then offered to call the city and see if the inspector was available and call me back. well, i left for the doctor, and she called back within 10 minutes and told me the inspector was on the way. ok. great. thanks a few minutes later, my husband calls and says the inspector signed off, but, now we have to contact the electrical inspector. what? so, i called Delta back and asked if he meant PUD inspector. i was told that 'no' the PUD would contact us directly. the inspection is for a regular electrical inspection, and to contact the electrician. i asked why would WE contact him. doesn't he work for you? no, he's only contracted to us, you have to call him...and here's his cell number. unbelievable. so, of course i take the number and call and left a message......it is now October 1st, and i still have not gotten an electrical inspection....no return call....nothing yet. so, bottom line... 1. yes, they were efficient in getting me a quote 2. yes, they did a great install, and the unit works great but, the administrative part has been a nightmare...at least to me. I didn't realize that the customer had to do so much of the 'after work' concerning all the inspections, how the office records could be lost or information relayed incorrectly, and how 'hands off' the company is once the unit is in. would i use them again? i don't know, i would have to thing twice if i wanted to go through this paperwork nightmare again.

Glenn came our once to do the estimate, then another time to talk to us about how the work would proceed. We scheduled work and on the day of install 6 men came and worked two days on our systems. Since we had an older home they had to deal with cramped spaces. Everybody was professional. All the work was done on time and done well.
Description of Work: They installed a heat pump/air conditioning system including duct work in our downstairs. Also installed ductless systems upstairs. The electrician had to rewire the entire box to accommodate the new systems.

The Delta agent worked with me to determine units that best met our needs. In addition, he included a $1,000 county rebate. Anothed heatpump supplier quoted a higher price and insisted that the county air test was so strigent that it was not worth doing. The Delta agent reassured me that they had been very successful in meeting the county standards. We chose Delta and the Rheem system. The Delta team removed and replaced the old system in a very professional manner and scheduled Ductz to perform the air tests. Although our home is only 20 years old there were some issues with the sealing in one of the duct return. The teams from Ductz and Delta resolved the issues and we received the $1,000 county rebate. I was very pleased with the professionalism and openess in addressing the issues that came up during the installation and duct testing. The system has been running well for six months. I definately recommend Delta.

They came out and gave a no pressure estimate for installing a new heat pump we already had but also a second heat pump which we bought from them. The house needs two due to its size. When we were ready, we called them and made the appointment. They informed us about the City's rebate and loan program. Delta worked hand in hand with the City of Richland to get the loan and the rebate paperwork ready to go. They had an eletrician they work with come out and assess if we would need changes to come up to code (which we did). The electrician also did a fastastic job. They arrived on time the day of the install, a Thursday, and got the majority of it done that day. They had planned for two days. The second day was just a couple hours of work and then cleanup. They installed the two heat pumps and get it up and running just before the hot weather got started. The controls are easy (and identical). They cleaned up after themselves! They know what they're doing, and they are highly professional. Would hire them again and definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking to have heat pump work done.

A/C went out when it was 100 degrees/left message that night/ they got back to me early the next morning/technician had it fixed and running by 930. as usual, Derek was professional and polite. These guys are great! i wouldn't use anyone else, and recommend them whenever possible!
Description of Work: added coolant; changed some seals that were bad on the compressor; added a leak retardant (well-explained by the technician/I chose to have it added-$90)

They were always on time and ready to get to work. They did a walk through, so they could get a plan going. You could tell they really knew what they were doing and that they gave it a lot of thought, because we originally wanted the duct work in the crawl space under the house, but they told us the duct work would be too small to really do any good. They recommended that we just take it straight up and out of the house even though we would see the duct work because of the we have walls shorter than the ceiling around the kitchen. They suggested black duct work, and I think it looks great! We are completely satisfied with their work and love how it turned out.
Description of Work: They put microwave duct work into our kitchen.

They showed up on time and worked with the electrician who was replacing the electric panels. They even finished up early. When we had some whistling from our air flow grates, they came back and fixed it right away.
Description of Work: We replaced our entire heat pump unit and furnace. They installed new thermostats and a CO2 alarm. They did a great job.

In the end we went with another provider. They were able to provide a plan that seemed to fit our needs better even though at a higher cost. I definitely feel everyone should include Delta in getting estimates for these services!
