Bill met with us and we discussed the project of painting our home's exterior including the trim and overhangs. He was very professional and explained their procedures completely. Once we decided we wanted to hire Bill and his crew, he came out a second time with paint samples - and actually left numerous small cans so we could try them out on different parts of the house to help us decide. Then came out again with even more samples!! They were actually able to do our job earlier than planned- Bill had contacted us to make sure it was okay. Bill's crew was amazing! They were professional and friendly. They cleaned up expertly when done and the Very few touch ups I asked for were happily done!! Our home now looks better than it did when it was newly constructed and painted just 5 years ago! They did a beautiful job!! I highly recommend Bill and his crew!! Thank you guys!!
Description of Work: Exterior of our home painted along with trim and overhangs, including removing downspouts to paint underneath. Two coats were applied. Where needed, re-caulking between cedar planks and around windows was done.

I have painted these triplexes myself before but now I'm 15 years older and don't like 32' ladders anymore. I started with one triplex and Bill Johnson gave me a bid of $5100 for the first one which I thought was a fair price. I was impressed with the prep job they did. Applied BIO-Dergent to all mildewed areas, pressure washing, scraping, and removing failing caulking and recaulk all joints, knotholes etc. What impressed me is the bid included priming and backrolling the entire house, two finish coats of paint with the first coat backrolled. Two finish coats on the trim too. The crew was careful and covered plants etc. They did a great job so I hired them for another triplex which was around $5500. They used from 2 to 6 people per day so it went fast. Now they are doing our personal residence. PS. I have used Jeff Marks for a couple of drywall jobs, one large and one small. They are very competitive and did a great job.
Description of Work: They painted the exterior of two triplexes for us this summer.

Working with SCS was a great experience and they did a quality job on all the work they performed for us. Our project was challenging due to our landscaping and plants, The house is over 50 years old, and there were a number of different materials they had to work with in the exterior of our home. In every case, they were on time. They were incredibly careful with masking, did a thorough job with caulking and a very quality job with the painting. The painting team was extremely respectful of our house and careful with our landscaping. They did a high quality painting job. We picked SCS because of the Angie's list recommendations. They were the least expensive of three estimates we got for our job. We couldn't be happier that we selected SCS - and thank Angie's List members for steering us the right way.
Description of Work: They powerwashed and cleaned the exterior. Then they scraped and caulked thoroughly. They painted the exterior, providing special treatment for the chimney, and used two colors, one for trim.

GREAT experience again. The management team of Jeff, Isaac and Alvin were in close contact, provided clear interactions, were friendly to my family, and respected our time. And the tapers and painters they used were also kind, professional and very skilled. The work was completed within the timeframe they agreed to, and the work is very high quality. The transformation of the room is everything we had hoped it would be, and it was money very well spent. I have no hesitation in recommending them for projects to friends or family, and if/when we have another project in our house, they will be my first stop.
Description of Work: This is the second time we've hired Seattle Contractor Services (repeat customers!!). Both cases were to do drywall and painting in our basement. The first time (in 2010) was for a media room, guest bedroom, hallway and 1/2 bath. This time is was a smaller space, but more involved, with drywall and painting, but also some framing. They had to work around a lot of water and gas pipes hanging from the joists, uneven walls, and odd spaces for soffitts. As before, they made good suggestions for design and layout, made suggestions for working with the odd spaces, and showed a lot of flexibility mid-project when we had ideas for slight changes.

The crew was prompt and very professional. The job was finished on time and included the last minute addition of painting the ceiling throughout the upstairs area.Bill gave us a reasonable quote on all work completed, and both Bill and Jeff were quick to respond to any questions and changes we made.
Description of Work: Interior painting of the majority of our home. They matched the chosen color perfectly, including a last minute match for the ceiling which runs from front to back of the home. They recommened low gloss paint, which is still too glossy for us, but I understand it is more easily maintained.

They were on-time, professional and paid attention to detail. Bill Johnson's color recommendation were spot on and his gracious willingness to use paint I already owned was greatly appreciated. Following completion he returned to check on the work that had been done. I absolutely recommend this company and their staff.

Painting all the walls and ceilings as well as the wood baseboards and doors of my 1400 square feet condo was a job well done in an efficient manner by Seattle Contractor Services. The crew of four under project manager Bill Johnson also fixed dings and cracks and patched some holes. The jobsite was left very clean. This was all done in three days, and it looks great. Bill was also able to do some interior design/color consulting and was very knowledgeable about construction and paint. This company is highly recommended.

The story from start of finish is told above.
Description of Work: We had a great experience with Bill and his painting crew! We had some drywall work done by this company several months previous to the painting, and are happy with both services. We had back-burnered the painting of our upstairs--2 bedrooms, 1 bath, hall and stairwell--for several months after Bill gave us his estimate, and he logically figured that they didn't win that bid. When I called after all that time to schedule, he was very accommodating and put us on the schedule right away. Once the job started, we really tested their customer service and spirit of cooperation in the goal of making sure the customor is happy when the crew pulls away from the curb. On the 3rd day of our 3-day job, we changed our minds about 4 of the 5 paint colors we had chosen--AFTER at least one coat of all the colors had been applied. Bill and the crew took it all in stride, and gave us a day to figure it out. When we gave him the new colors, he had custom colors mixed because our samples were not the brand they like to use (and get the best prices on...), and came back the next day to repaint 3 of the 4 rooms they had already painted. I apologized profusely for being so high-maintenance and was assured over and over again that this sort of thing happens often enough that I must not be TOO lame, and got no complaints or rolling eyeballs or passive/aggressive behavior. Just great painting and great customer service! Thanks, Guys!

As a result of other reports on Angie's List, I contacted three companies about painting our home. Bill Johnson of Seattle Contractor Services contacted me the next day and made an appointment to come out and give us an estimate that week. I was very impressed with his knowledge of the work to be done. Bill's quick response was far superior to the other companies we contacted. His pricing was mid-range of the other estimates, but his professionalism won us over and we're really happy with his work. He was the only one that provided color samples and referred us to a paint store where we could "go browse" the colors (since we wanted to make a slight color change to our house). That was very helpful in making the final color choices! The work was done while we were on vacation, so I can't comment on how that went. However, it was nice coming home to a "newly painted" house. Because we were not home, our front door couldn't be finished, so Bill came out the day after we returned and finished the door. We are very pleased with the work that Bill and his crew did, and I would not hesitate to hire him again.

Bill responded to the request for a quote within 15 minutes. He scheduled the appointment during the evening hours so my husband could meet with him. During the meeting with my husband, he thoroughly explained the advantages and disadvantages of stain vs. paint. Based on our research and Bill's recommendation we switched to paint. We requested quotes from two other companies. One company came out and never sent us a quote. The other company was a national company and their quote was considerably higher than Seattle Contractor Services. The national company has a policy of price matching. We elected not to utilize that company due to the great customer service we received from Bill. We contacted Bill in May and the work was completed early July. Once the house was pressure washed (mid June), it took about two weeks for the weather to cooperate for painting. The prep work took approximately three days. Bill stopped by the house on a regular basis to ensure the work being done was up to par. On one visit he noticed the primer was being applied thinner than he wanted and had his crew redo it. Cruz was our onsite job foreman and did an incredible job. He was excellent at keeping me informed of the progress and gave me daily updates at the end of the day. It took about eleven days from prep work to completion. The reason for the long time was due to increased prep work, the 4th of July holiday, and an unexpected family illness for one of the crew members. We were kept informed of the status of the job during the entire process. We are very pleased with the work Bill and his crew performed. We will not hesitate to contact them in the future.
Description of Work: Bill Johnson and his crew painted the exterior of our house. The house was originally stained and we decided to change to paint. The house required extensive prep work to include: pressure washing house, caulking seams between boards, caulking knot holes, caulking windows, covering gutters, covering windows, etc. The house received a thick coat of primer and two coats of paint. The trim work was painted a coordinating color.

Bill Johnson was the Project Manager,He and his crew did a great job.For his crew I'm talking about Roberto and his team would show up on time everyday and leave the Property clean at the end of each day.We asked for a couple of of changes in the middle of the job and Bill showed up and took care of it right away as he usually came by also every other day to check on the progress of thing's.When I say they did a great job,I am really talking about the Quality of the workmanship, clearly done by Experienced Professional Painters.Roberto and his team are very matriculate and pay attention to detail.Bill is very Professional and knowledgeable. We will be hiring them in the winter to Paint our Interior.I would highly recommend Seattle Contractor Services/Seattle Drywall to all we couldn't be happier with our Fresh and new look that this Quality Company brought us!
Description of Work: Description of work:Painted the Exterior of our house.P.Washed with Bio-Chemical Solution to clean house before Prep.Considering we have lot's of Plants and Landscaping I was very happy they used a product like that.Has we had a bad experience years ago with a painter using bleach which killed our plants. Our house is two story house with Big Deck on back with Hot Tub and Gazebo I was amazed how they Masked that whole area off for protection, not a drop of Paint to be found anywhere. The Prep consisted of Scraping and Sanding and they also Recaulked the whole house where needed. There was a Four days in between Washing and Prepping especially with The Weather we were having at the time. But they got it all done and Finished on time.

When searching for a reputable and reliable company offering quality work at a reasonable price, I started my homework by contacting a friend who I knew had a very positive experience with a reputable person involved in the painting industry. His name was Bill Johnson who I learned was the painting project manager for Jeff Marks at SCS (Seattle Contractor Services). When looking over our home for estimating purposes, I was extremely impressed with Bill Johnson's knowledge of paint products. His extended work in the painting profession was quickly revealed. His suggestions for the type of paint to be used on both the trim and the wood siding - I had no reason to doubt were nothing but valid suggestions to be trusted.. And since we wanted the trim color to be the same, and the wood siding basically the same, he was able to accomodate both requests. The trim color - he matched perfectly and for the color of the wood siding - we both agreed to choose a little lighter color. And it looks great. The one side of our house - due to sun damage and 10 years since it had been painted - needed a lot of 'damage' repair work and it was done to the point of perfection. It looks like new. Because our house has a lot of trim - there was need for lots of 'masking' - but when that technique wasn't available - the work was done so meticulously it appears to have been done with an artist's paintbrush. I am fascinated with the detailed work on our trim.Their prep work for eliminating any paint deposited on surrounding areas ( patio, extensive gardens, etc) was labor intensive but done as a crucial part of the job assignment. And - I noted that after removing one of the pieces of covering on the grass, one of the crew had his own rake - going across the grass that had been laid back. Their care and concern for the property was most impressive.Their work ethic was on display at all times. They all viewed their job with the concept that it had to be done with A quality work and they earned their marks. One picture is worth a thousand words so I will add photos of the house as testimony of how Bill Johnson's crew met the challenge of their job description.

I am extremely pleased with the way our house looks! The painting was done with excellent attention to detail. The colors are as Kelly Moore samples showed and Bill matched the front door color precisely. The shingles had black spots and stains that are now gone and they look brand new! The upper deck is like a roof so it needs a special protective paint treatment that they expertly applied to that area. Our metal spiral stair case to that upper deck was rusted and in bad shape and it also looks new now! The workers showed up as promised and they worked hard every day that week until the job was done. They were friendly and eager to do anything I asked of them. I appreciate that they were very careful while on the ladders to the very high areas of our house. They also took good care in putting up tarps, even to the point of covering a neighbor's house with tarp where paint drops might spill over. I searched the house thoroughly once they left and the paint dried and I only found a couple of small spots that one or two strokes of the paint brush will fix. I told Bill about it yesterday and he promised they will be fixed. If not, I'll let you know, but in the past he has kept his word so I have no worries. A very pleasant experience overall!
Description of Work: I met Bill Johnson through Seattle Paint and Drywall. I contacted him to have some exterior painting done on our home and found out that he is now with Seattle Contractor Services/Seattle Drywall. He came by and gave me a quote to do the painting which I found to be very reasonable considering the size of the job. His crew, Roberto and the guys, showed up right on time every day and worked very hard with meticulous attention to detail until the job was done that week. They power washed the house, decks and patio, and sanded, caulked and primed everything needing it. I had some shingles on the front of the house that looked like they needed to be replaced which they cleaned with Cabbots wood cleaner and Cabbots wood brightener. They looked brand new and some friends dropping by thought they were new! The whole crew was friendly and courteous, and diligently closed every gate and door behind them per my request so my dogs would not run out. This was not easy as they had to go through the gates all day long, and I appreciated their cheerful compliance. I also had them paint my upper deck flooring with Gacco shield. It turned out beautifully! They cleaned up everything and moved all of my patio furniture and my many porch decorations tirelessly and daily! Roberto even offered to paint an outdoor porch wall decoration to match the trim! The price I paid was exactly what I was quoted, although some little extras were thrown in for us. I would highly recommend SCS/Seattle Drywall to anyone wanting a top notch professional painting company and I will be using them for any of my future professional painting needs.

They did a great job. On the day of the work, some of the workers got delayed and the work spilled over to another day, but things worked out fine and the quality of the work was excellent. They cleaned up almost all of the mess and were very professional. The project manager, Jack, was very responsive and helpful when I had questions or concerns.

Bill Johnson and his crew painted the outside of our house in late 2010. Bill was our job site manager and he has his own crew, who did an excellent job. They were very professional and did what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to do it. They also cleaned up very well aftewards. We were so pleased with the work that when we needed the interior of our house painted (April of 2011), I called Bill again. It turns out he and his crew moved to Seattle Drywall (yes, the names are similar, but it is a different company). So we simply hired Bill and the same crew, but via their new company, to paint the interior of our home. And we had the same great results. I think the crew and their supervisor are just as important as the company and would highly recommend Bill. We would certainly use them again if the need arose.

The bid was reasonable and their craftmanship was excellent. The job was completed within timelines and within the bid parameters. Jeff promptly returned phone calls and personnally inspected all aspects of the project. His paint contractor, Bill, was a pleasure to work with and promptly responded to all of our questions. Our company ,J&D Development ,has a much larger project coming up and Seattle Drywall will definately be our first choice for the new project.
Description of Work: Seattle Drywall completed a small remodel project for us. The project involved the difficult matching of new drywall and paint with an old lath and plaster finish-the final product exceeded our expectations as the new and old finishes blend perfectly.

The job went very well. Seattle Drywall came in and insulated in one day. Passed in inspection the next day. I left town the next day for a week. The work was sub-contracted out to a painter and drywaller. Both were professional and on-time throughout the 4 days of work. Everything went smoothly and the work was done correctly.
Description of Work: This was part of a kitchen-remodel and first-floor remodeling of our 1906 Craftsman in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle. We had a new wall drywalled and several fixes to the drywall throughout the first-level of the house as a result of new electrical and plumbing.

This company has many strengths and we highly recommend them. Obviously, they have been very important in our remodeling projects. The original bid was right on target with a final price being lower than the other bids received. Jeff and his crew were very dependable and would show up everyday as scheduled. They work well with other contractors and are neat, and always courteous and considerate of our privacy.
Description of Work: This is our second experience working with Jeff and his crew - the first being a small bathroom and now a 14x17 kitchen. We are again very happy with the work they provided. They installed insulation, sheet rock which was smoothly finished, painted the walls and ceiling and following the tile-setter, the mill-work was skillfully and neatly painted. Again, we are pleased with each step of the process.
