Alvin and his team did a great job with repairing drywalls in our building. Scheduling was easy, they were punctual, professional and the finished walls look great. Time to paint! Highly recommend.

Excellent! Highly recommended. As part of a full kitchen renovation, we needed some walls demolished, a new doorway framed, major holes from electrical/plumbing work repaired, and the room prepped for painting. Alvin was our contact for this project, and we enjoyed working with him. He came out to look at the site and quickly was able to tell us how everything would work, in a clear and concise manner. He also said they had room for us on their schedule, when I needed them, which was super important. Other companies didn't even call me back! Construction is very busy lately, and I did make sure to check in with them now and again to make sure our schedules would still line up as we got closer to the job. They always called or emailed back, usually the same day but sometimes the next day. I also left PLENTY of wiggle room in my project schedule. Over about 10 days, the work got done, sometimes with a day or two between for things to dry. They were always on time, worked quickly, checked in with us to make sure we were all on the same page, got all the details, and did really quality work. We appreciated how nicely they protected the job site and cleaned up, too. At the end, it was ready for primer and paint, which we were able to DIY in a weekend. They are incredibly hard-working, competent, and have been among the best we've hired during our entire project. Call them!

Alvin was quick to respond and get to the site. He gave me a fair price, saying they could start work the following week and it would take two days. Eddie did the actual work and it was a thing of beauty. When you are doing a remodel and are dealing with different contractors, you can sometimes be left with the feeling that you wish you had not paid your hard-earned money for the work which was ultimately done. This will not be the case with Seattle Contractor Services. They are seasoned pros who take pride in their work and it shows! And they are respectful of you and your property. It really doesn't get better than this. Thanks Angie's List!

We appreciate SCS fitting us into their tight schedule. There was an issue with the sheetrock work in a master bedroom, but it was quickly resolved. Overall the sheetrock installation work went well. Some millwork in a hallway was accidentally missed on their original invoice. Due to time constraints, I chose to have this performed by a different provider. Installation of the bathroom cabinets went well. Drawer fixtures were not installed on the cabinets. Painting of both bathrooms went well.

1st job went well, second job not good.
Description of Work: Repaired drywall for one of our customers, did a good job though they rescheduled once. The second time I called them they went to customers house, said they would call her the next day, never did. After a week of calling and emailing every day for a week, Jeff finally got back to me to say they weren't interested in the job. My customer was quite angry.

I called this company at least 5 times and left at least 3 messages over a period of over a week for interior painting, exterior painting, and drywall repair. I could never get a hold of a live person, and no one ever got back to me. Completely unresponsive company. If this is the way they respond to their new customers, imagine how they must deal with their existing ones. The economy seems to be picking up, so I guess they don't need any new business.

They were responsive to my phone calls and provided an estimate in a timely manner. I was ready to get things started. After the pressure washing was completed - there was some communication issues between the owner and his bidder. Ultimately it was resolved and I am so very happy with the results. I even left a message for the bidder about a little stain bleed on my slate stairs and he was out personally a few days later to take care of it. I believe I have the nicest fence and deck in the neighborhood - thanks to Seattle Contractors.

The quoting process was pretty straight forward, Justin came in and reviewed the work for about 20min and then called me with the pricing after about 2 days. I had started the room myself as a home project, but the room was more difficult then I had anticipated. He understood that we were trying to stay within a budget and told me that we would make it work, which I greatly appreciated. He was able to work with the drywall I had already installed plus use the materials I had purchased. We had obtained one other quote which was four (4) times the cost that Seattle Contract Services had quoted. I asked Justin to submit a documented quote by e-mail before we proceeded and he accommodated. Right from the beginning we experienced issues with communication and punctuality. My wife and I had arranged for someone to be at the house while the work was completed. The first day Seattle Contract Services was scheduled to arrive, they did not show up at all. This was after many phone calls constantly being told they were finishing up and would be there in an hour or so. The next scheduled day they showed-up four hours late. Once they were here they worked quickly and we couldn't have been happier with the quality. The only other snafu that occurred was getting the trim installed. There was a scheduling issue and ultimately we called and the owner (Jeff) offered to come Monday night at 6:30pm and complete the job himself, which we really appreciated. Ultimately, Seattle Contract Services did a great job, however it was unfortunate that the timing and communication was poor. So if you have flexible timing then I would recommend using Seattle Contract Services, but if you need a somewhat stable schedule then I would look elsewhere.
Description of Work: Seattle Contract Services plastered/filled in roughly 15 3" diameter holes left from having our house rewired. They then completed installing the drywall (3/4ths of the room as I had attempted the initial 1/4th) in a roughly 8' x 14' room that had been ripped down to the studs. After the dry wall was up they taped, mudded, and sanded. They finished the room by installing two piece trim around the base of the room (board and quarter round) and one piece trim around the door.

Generally I had a good experience with Seattle Contractor Services, although a couple things could be improved. Pros: -Justin, the contractor I worked with the most, was friendly and helpful. -I felt comfortable leaving the contractors unsupervised in the house. -The quality of the work turned out well. When Justin noticed that a baseboard was damaged and there was a gash in the drywall, he took the extra time to fix it rather than letting it go. -Stuck to original price quoted. Cons: -Took several days to get the bid after first estimate, and when it came, it was an informal email without details. -A couple times they were late, once didn't show up as planned, and a couple times they did not have all the needed materials. So the project took longer than expected.

I had contracted with Seattle Contractor Services, LLC to paint the front of my house (LP siding) and the back deck. From the beginning Bill was late (nearly an hour) to the appointment. Then he pressure washed the house without notifying me (see above). He never even addressed the fence issue that I brought up. After that I told him we need only communicate via email since his memory of conversations and mine were on different realms of the planet. This apparently didn't do much to help his fabrications of the truth . He had agreed to do the paint once the weather got nice but when that happened he was busy with other projects - when I gave him an ultimatum of giving me a schedule he agreed to have one to me by that Friday. But I received nothing on Friday, on Sat, he said by Sunday, but I received nothing, I received nothing on Monday and then on Tuesday when I contacted him he wanted to come over that afternoon to see me - and explain his side of the story! He was a no show. No phone call - nothing. Then later that evening he e-mailed wanting to come out even later that evening or the next day and also wanted to start prep on the house the next day. At that time I discontinued his services. I would not recommend this man/company to anyone. Save yourselves the frustration and stress - it's not worth it.
Description of Work: Bill Johnson, project manager sent his crew out to my house to pressure wash my house without permission and did so in the rain. He also pressure washed my fence which was not part of any agreement and because I was not aware of their arrival on my property my dogs were in the back yard to which is crew were seen using the pressure washer to keep my German shepherd at bay. I have four witnesses to this.

Our painting estimator called this appointment three hours in advance to reschedule. Client had a special request or question about some metal siding or roofing? Bill, our estimator left two messages to reschedule time to meet with client. No return call. If you look at all of Bill's reviews you will see that he is very professional.

Justin was prompt and polite and was able to give me an estimate at the end of that first meeting. His crew came in and papered the entire floor. Then the dry-wallers arrived and walled the ceiling, kitchen, living room, dining room and media room in a day. Then the plastering team came in and got the whole thing done in two days. They then arrived over a Sunday and sanded and sprayed-on the primer. There was one small eruption on one of the walls discovered two days later. Justin was quick to respond and had it repaired quickly with no additional cost or haggling. Justin and his crews were quick, efficient, and left the job clean and ready for the next phase.

Overall, we are very happy with the work considering cost and schedule. I have a near-OCD eye for detail, and Jeff's crew did well against this discerning customer. At every stage the overall product looked very good (probably "great" to most people), and I was forward in presenting any areas that I thought could use a second pass (there were only a few). Isaac, Alvin, and the rest of the team did everything I asked and worked late to keep the project moving along. Months later, a crack formed near one of the windows (I suspect at a panel seam) -- not too surprising considering the age of our house. I called Jeff and he had someone out to perform repairs at no charge. These guys certainly have delivered. If I were to do it over, I would probably have a couple of the walls with wall sconce lighting quoted at Level 5 finish. Everywhere else the Level 4 looks terrific, and even on those severely-lit walls I suspect most people think the space looks great. If you are a tweaker, this note is for you. The reality is once you are in any space you stop noticing those details after a few minutes. That being said, the ceiling beam wraps look terrific! So, I am very pleased. We got exactly what we paid for, the project ran only a couple of days over, and I had all of my questions addressed quickly and entirely. Out of the 5 shops I asked to quote, 4 responded, 3 were available, and 2 were excellent choices for the money. I could have paid with the other shop more but have no way of knowing if it would have been as good of a value proposition (pay more get more, or pay more get same?). I could have paid less and I'm convinced it wouldn't have been as professional of an experience. Highly recommended. As with any contractor, write down what you want and be sure you are happy before you pay... and expect terrific results from Seattle Contractor Services!
Description of Work: Remodel included drywall and primer in existing family room, bedroom, bathroom, and two closets. We decided to take down the old drywall (ourselves) and update the heavy "almost-stucco" texture previously in place with new board, Level 4 smooth finish, and flat paint. Beams are exposed and required a tight wrap along the walls (detail work). Ceilings were omitted as we painted the exposed car decking directly.

Jeff and his crew are great to work with, do quality work and get the job done quickly. This was for installation of insulation and drywall in 2 bedrooms, a hallway and a stairwell. They put the insulation and drywall up in a day, and then finished the majority of the mud, taping and sanding in 5 days. The guy who did the mudding/taping/sanding even worked late into the evening (until 10pm a couple of days) to get the job done quickly, since we were sleeping in the living room while all of this was going on and wanted to move back into the bedroom as soon as possible. Initially we weren't going to use SCS to prime the wall for paint, but changed our minds with that (after the sanding was done) and Jeff was able to accomodate that very quickly and get someone in to complete the priming work within a day. The crew then came back to do the touchup work on the walls which shows up after the priming is done. The only reason I'm giving them a B on responsiveness was that there were a couple of times where the work for the day was done, or when the guys were going to show up later, and it wasn't communicated. I know the team was busy with multiple jobs, but checking in proactively to tell me what was left to do or that one of the guys would be showing up later would have been better, rather than my having to call to ask for an update. I will definitely be using Jeff and the crew at SCS in the future when we do additional remodeling.

We had an excellent experience with Seattle Contractor Services. Bill Johnson, the project manager was timely and provided a comprehensive estimate. His bid was very competitive and he proposed a time line for completion of the work which he ensured his crew met. He rapidly provided samples of the colors we were interested in to ensure the project would remain on schedule. He was easily reachable throughout the project. Roberto and his crew were all prompt and professional. They were very careful of our new hardwood and wall-to-wall and when moving our furniture. They did an excellent job and were very responsive to my various small requests. Bill even had his crew return a week after the job was completed to touch up a few small flaws that were missed during the walkthrough inspection at the end of the job. We would definitely work with SCS again.

We are so pleased with the workmanship and level of professionalism demonstrated by Bill and his crew. We had not decided on a specific color, so Bill brought us samples to test on three separate occasions. His crew worked around our hours of operation (on Saturday evenings and Sundays) to avoid disrupting our business. We have several areas with equipment that can not be moved, and the painters took extra care to paint around those items. Overall, we are highly satisfied with the work that was done, and receive lots of compliments from our clients.

In short, project went very well start to finish. The crew was prompt, considerate, flexible, and experienced, and the pricing more than fair given the scope of work and challenges of the project. There were some difficult spots that they were able to blend seamlessly with existing drywall. They left the work site clean and were careful to mask areas for protection and minimization of dust in the rest of the house. I also requested that the finished drywall butt up against unfinished, exposed wood beams. It requires experience and care to have a clean, straight edge joining the wood beams with the finished drywall ceiling. They did an artful job accomplishing this. I would recommend SCS without hesitation, and will have them back for future projects.

Bill at Seattle Contractors was very reliable, honest and fair. When I needed a good portion of the interior of my house painted he arrived on time and gave a reasonable bid. I shared with him that I needed all of the art work removed and re hung and furniture moved by his team. He accommodated my request. He did this above and beyond the bid. The first day they spent carefully preparing the house. The next day when I returned from work I noticed that much of the work was done but the paint was the wrong color! When I called Bill about this, he came out right away and we discovered that I had put out the wrong color of paint for him to mix. However I had also asked that he swatch the walls to confirm the color, which he did not do. We agreed that splitting the extra expense was fair. After the work was complete he did an entire walk thru with me and was open to making the few touch ups that the team had missed. This could have been a disaster given that the paint color was incorrect and re mixing the paint and re painting the majority of the house added two full days to the job. Bill took his accountability for the paint mix up, was fair in the price, and made special arrangements to ensure the house was not disheveled. A true test of a great company is not when everything goes as planned but when things go awry and how professionally and fairly it is handled. I have painting needs for the exterior of my home this summer and I will call Bill at Seattle Contractors. I trust him and the quality of work his team provides.

Overall the experience was great. I used Angie list and looked at this company's review before calling them. Justin stopped by my home one afternoon and gave me estimate. When Justin gave me estimate, I knew this is the right estimate.
