Response from On The Go Moving & Storage
It is standard practice that if we end a job early, we call the next job to ask permission to start their job earlier. I hope we did not catch you off guard on this. We are always compliant if our customer communicates that an earlier start time is not doable for them. A piano move charge is standard across the industry. The job required us to move the piano up two flights of stairs. As I am sure you realize, moving pianos is a huge liability and takes a lot of work. It requires extra man power (the two men you requested could not have moved a piano up two flights of stairs by themselves) and additional specialized equipment. When we spoke on the phone I tried to meet in the middle with you in regards to the additional charge but you immediately explained to me that you not only would you not pay the additional charge for the piano but you would also not be paying for the entire job, including the work we had already done for you. Also, you explained to me that you would be writing a bad review on our social media websites as well. At this point I did let you know that we would not be moving forward on the job based off of the fact that we would not be getting paid at all. I felt it was in yours and my best interest to cut ties and allow you to work with another moving company you felt would better suit your needs. After speaking to the crew, shortly after our conversation, they let me know that you had told them that you have now decided you would be paying for the job and therefore we decided to continue to finish our services. On the Go Moving has an amazing crew who are dedicated to the customers. I am very pleased to hear you were happy with the two man team that was sent out to you. Best regards, Jason Sexton
