We didn't choose this company but they were very prompt with their response and professional.

We had a contractor begin a job and then, after claiming to have hurt his back, he kept delaying his return (leaving us hoping he would finish before putting the home on the market). He finally told us (on Saturday, 9/14) that he couldn't finish in time (our deadline was Tues 9/17) due to other jobs he had booked. The problem was that this person had kept scheduling to come back over the previous week. This left us searching for a replacement on a weekend for a job that had to be done the following Monday or Tuesday. Of the 6 contractors we called on Saturday, only 2 answered the phone. Ryan was already involved in a job (not a surprise as most contractors with good reviews have plenty of work) but tried to help us find someone. He helped me understand what needed to be done and what the approximate job cost should be (the 3 posts supporting our front porch roof needed replacing). Ryan probably spent about 30 minutes with me on the phone Saturday and Sunday. He called several vendors that he knew over the weekend to try and help us find someone for the job. It is obvious that Ryan is someone who is not only very professional but someone who cares. I was impressed with the time he spent, especially over a weekend, to help us out. Ryan really goes above and beyond for people.

They were really great to work with. They were professional, stuck to their timing and best of all they brought wonderful ideas and creativity to the project. For example, we were thinking of having a sitting bar area in the back of the theater and they designed a beautiful bar made out of recycled lumber which is simply gorgeous and quite a show case to the room. The two layers of raised seating makes very comfortable movie viewing for large number of people. From the carpet selection to unique counter surface and tiling to even the wall colors, Johnson Custom Builders helped us make decisions to keep the project reasonable in costs but have a beautiful designed outcome! It is the highlight of our house now!

We met with several different companies before we met Ryan from Johnson Custom Builders. We were looking for someone that could do a backyard remodel / makeover. It was clear from the moment we met with him that he had the know-how and was interested in making sure it was all done correctly. Several of the other landscape and deck companies wanted to come out and build without a space plan. When we met with Ryan he suggested we plan the space in order to achieve the best function, esthetics, and usability. Ryan wanted to know how long we would be here and to consider how this work would affect the sale of our house in the future. Ryan always gave us options to help us choose the best fit and finish within our budget. I appreciated that he listed to my concerns- one of which was poor drainage in our existing yard. Ryan made sure there was plenty of drainage put in and I can tell you today that in the midst of the largest rains our backyard has no excess water!! Ryan has a wealth of knowledge from his custom home building experience. No project is too large or too small. He treated us with the same attention to detail that he would as if we were building a custom home. He is a person of high integrity, tremendous knowledge, and great interpersonal skills. Choose Johnson Custom Builders and you won't regret it.

My experience working with Ryan Johnson was great. Ryan started the project by listening to what was important to me and my priorities. He made great suggestions on how to save money without compromising the finished result. Ryan was prompt in providing samples, and detailed sketches so that I could visualize the result. Ryan was thorough in understanding my budget and continued throughout the project to provide status updates on where we were at. With his knowledge and expertise, we were able to reshape and orientate my kitchen and family room which resulted in better flow and accessibility to the outside living area. Ryan has excellent attention to detail, he made sure the quality of all the work was far above standard, many times catching things that I wouldn't have noticed. I also appreciated Ryan's attention to cleanliness, during the project, since I was living in the house while under construction. Ryan has excellent communication and follow through skills. Even though the logistics of the project required a couple different phases, both phases came in a few days earlier prior to completion. I would highly recommend Johnson Custom Builders.

Ryan, the owner was very up front on his process and costs. He delivered what he promised and then some. From our discussions I thought I was getting one thing but found out I got something better. This is probably not the cheapest contractor your will find but he is one that will provide you with excellent customer service and a superior product/result with an honest assessment of the costs of a job that will most likely exceed your expectations. I used him once for the initial remodel and have hired him again for additional work that other contractors could not without significant delay figure out how to accomplish. Ryan has been fair with me in our working relationship and I would recommend him to anyone looking for quality workmanship at a fair price.

I was very happy with how Ryan and his company Johnson Custom Builders handled our work. Ryan's company was totally on schedule and everything went smoothly. He was always concerned that I was happy with how things were going and was quick to resolve any issues that came up. I always felt like he had our best interests at heart. He never hesitated to be my advocate to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. His price is very fair but not cheep but his service is spectacular. I felt it was worth it because I knew I could trust him and had confidence that he would do right thing. He was accommodating and a pleasure to work with.

Wonderfully. We designed our remodel initially and on the fly in combination with Ryan. He brought significant expertise and guidance to the entire project. We are as excited with the finished result 6 months later as to the first day after completion. He will be selected for our next project in the Kitchen once we have the budget.

Ryan Johnson helped us totally gut and remodel the kitchen in our newly purchased home. As new homebuyers, we did not know a lot about being homeowners, much less about totally renovating a kitchen. Ryan and designer Laurie Schwartz helped us from the very beginning, and walked us through the entire process. Ryan was extremely patient and wanted to make sure we understood everything to ensure we were comfortable. A kitchen reno is quite expensive, and he was very sensitive to that. He walked us through his estimate line by line, explaining what each task entailed, and prepared us for areas where we might find unexpected costs. As you might guess, we did end up running into unanticipated expenses (due to the structure and age of our home, not any fault of Ryan or his contractors), but Ryan suggested ways to reduce our bill, like doing some of the demolition and painting ourselves. The reason I gave the "price" factor a "B" was because of these unexpected costs, not Ryan's estimate. Two specific qualities of Ryan's work that I particularly appreciated were his timely contact (he would often text or call me just to give me an update on how the day's work was going) and his dedication to "doing it right". There are certainly ways that contractors can cut corners to save a buck, but Ryan discouraged us from band-aid fixes because he knows that it's better to do it correctly the first time than to do it twice. He went above and beyond, even answering questions not related to our kitchen. Furthermore, there were a few times when we needed to make detail-level decisions and felt overwhelmed-- Ryan stepped in and made suggestions and recommendations, much to our relief. We absolutely love our new kitchen. Ryan helped us transform a 1940s bland, laminate, boxed-in old kitchen into a beautiful open space with awesome granite, hardwoods, and cabinetry. His work quality, attitude, professionalism, and respect were top-notch, and he has made loyal clients out of us. We would refer him to our closest friends and family.
