The overall experience was most satisfying. We never felt pressured about selecting the material or design. The work was scheduled and completed on time and within budget. And, the workmanship and communication during the project was superior.

From my first meeting with Tom until after he and his crew finished, my experience with them was fantastic. Although they ran into some difficulty with the wet weather, they worked continuously until the job was done. If we ever had questions or wanted clarification, they were very responsive. During the job, they accidently cut a buried powerline, but promptly got an electrician to fix it at their own cost (as with any large project, unexpected accidents happen). Tom and his crew were respectful and pleasant to have around.

Tom's crew showed up on time, was very professional and polite, finished our deck with cedar, and cleaned up after the job was finished. We would definitely use him again and recommend him without reserve. Our deck is gorgeous, and solid.

Tom Montgomery and his crew did an outstanding job on our deck. From our first contact with Tom, he and his crew were professional. Each day went according to plan with delivered materials, and no wasted time- all on schedule. Our vision for a new deck was built by this crew under Tom's leadership and craftsmanship experience with quality materials we selected. His estimate for the project met our expectations with no hidden costs. Tom and crew respected our home, neighborhood and left the building sight intact and clean. Our deck is a quality work of art we will enjoy for years to come. At our request the crew signed the railing with their signature of pride.

Tom arrived at the time we scheduled. He talked to me about the project and gave me several ideas to consider and asked relevant questions. He pointed out some issues with our specific situation that I appreciated so much. He measured everything, wrote down all of my requests and got a bid to me with a couple days. The bid was reasonable compared to the other bids we received for replacing this patio with a deck. Unfortunately for him we could replace this particular patio much less expensively with concrete so we opted for that being that budget is an issue. I would definitely consider them again for a deck or fence as they seem to be a very professional organization and seem to know their business.

Tom was very easy to work with. He helped me design the new deck by providing ideas and then estimating them. We were able to go through the pros/cons of each idea and this helped me a lot in making a decision. Deciding on what material (composite, cedar, etc..) to use was a big decision for me because it would have an impact on cost and look. Tom was very patient providing me samples and estimates which again helped me make a good decision. Tom and his crew are professional. They show up on time, keep the work area clean and follow up with any questions I had. They build to code and the quality of workmanship is very good. We are very happy with our new deck which is made of composite material (Timber Tech).

Throughout the process, Tom and his crew were very responsive and focused on providing a high quality product. They were efficient, organized and hard working while incorporating the custom elements that we wanted. They exceeded expectations.

We are extremely happy with our choice of Eastside Fence and Deck. Tom and his crew showed up on time everyday and were very nice to work with. They worked very hard to complete our large project, which included that historically hot week the end of July. They thoroughly cleaned up the job-site at the end of each day. Tom totally took care of any problems that cropped up during the construction process. We are delighted with the finished products, both in appearance and the quality or workmanship. We can very highly recommend Tom and his team of deck-building artisans!

Great! We got 3 estimates, and Eastside was the lowest. They had worked with AZEK PVC decking before and had glowing references. They arrived as scheduled, removed the old deck, and built a great new deck, all in 4 days. They were very nice and considerate. My 4 yr old was fascinated and they were great at stopping to talk with him and compare tape measures.

Tom and his helper were fast and efficient. The new fence has held up well. We developed an issue with one of the gates not closing properly and they came back and fixed it for us at no additional charge.

Tom and his crew did a fantastic job. It ended up taking longer than expected due to lumber delays (our end) and the material being harder to work with than expected but they were great at keeping in touch witth us and worked hard during their many weeks here. Tom was VERY willing to talk through design options with us and work with materials that he hadn't used much previously. Patient as well as we agonized over materials and design. They tidied up daily and were pleasant and polite to have around. As an at home mom I felt very comfortable working with Tom and his crew. And the end result is rock solid and looks fantastic.

Eastside Fence and Deck did an outstanding job! They used old growth cedar to match the existing work, as well as duplicating the nail pattern in the decking. Tom was very good about checking on all work performed and making sure I was completely satisfied.

Excellent interaction from start to finish. Very professional appraisal and discussion of options. Guided me to sources to get information to choose decking materials. Started and finished right when they said they would Very clean and orderly worksite. Craftsmanship and construction was way above what I expected. They had not worked with the decking material I chose (Azek) but they researched it and did a superb job. Looks so much better than the rest of the house I may need to rebuild the house. They are just a little bit pricey, but boy is it worth it!

Tom and John did a great job. Their entire scrap pile fit into a couple of wheelbarrows. They worked clean, and left an immaculate job site. My wife and I love the railing Tom suggested, it gives a nearly unobstructed view of the woods behind our house, without the expense of glass railing. They started on time, and ended on time. It snowed a couple of days during the project and Tom made a point of calling to say they couldn't come out. Quite a difference from reports I've heard about other contractors that just disappear in the middle of a project. I'm a hobbyist woodworker, and can get a little picky. Tom's joints were tight, the plank next to the house was fit perfectly, and everything was plumb, square and level. Tom patiently answered all my questions about fasteners, the correct method of attaching a ledger board, and others. We had two little items on the punch list, and Tom returned and promptly took care of them. I am completely satisfied.

Tom and team did a great job. They are not the cheapest deck builder around but you get what you pay for. The guys were prompt and efficient. They completed the job on time and the yard and work area was thoroughly clean. The deck is beautiful and I get good feedback from friends and neighbors.

After reading a great review of Eastside Fence & Deck on Angie's List, we called Tom who provided us an estimate within a week. Tom was very helpful during the bid process as we finalized our design, material, railing, etc. After receiving a couple of bids, we chose Tom because we liked him, we liked his price and his referrals were excellent. His team built a TimberTech deck in Rosewood with Walnut picture framing and Trek white railing. They also installed TimberTech's Dryspace product to keep the area below the deck dry. Tom and his team arrived everyday at 8am. They were professional, low maintenance and flexible as we made minor tweaks to the design mid-stream (make sure you approve the design prior to). We absolutely love our deck and couldn't recommend Tom and his great team any higher. His team also built us a simple yet elegant fence in front. I didn't need anything fancy and yet it turned out better than I imagined. Excellent company!

Tom was wonderful to work with. We especially appreciated his planning of the posts, to avoid the lower patio doors. Other estimators had the posts right in front of the sliding door. Tom also, helped us work out how to do a cover without room, under the eaves to attach it. He researched materials for the cover & was enthusiastic about researching & using a product, he hadn't worked with (Macrolux). The work start was delayed one day, but he gave us notice of that, the week before. Tom and his crew showed up every day, on time and cleaned up the site each day, before they left. The same crew was there through out the project. They were all polite, neat & happy to answer our questions. We had a few things we had to plan along the way (due to the unusual cover). Tom checked in with us and kept researching, during the project. There were 2 small things we needed changed, they fixed them right away with no hassle. The estimate was the final cost, except extra work to correct a rotten beam.

After they missed the appointment they never called back.

Tom Montgomery, the owner, came out to inspect the job and give me a bid to demolish and remove the existing deck and stairs, including the entire deck substructure. He hadn't heard of CorrectDeck, but was very interested to learn more about it and agreed to use it on this job. Tom called the distributor to get pricing and availability, and gave me a reasonable bid. He had a fairly long waiting queue of other jobs, but once his crew started, they worked every day for almost 2 weeks to complete the job. Although they hadn't worked with this material and its unique fastening system before, they did an outstanding job, were always courteous, and determined to get the job done right. Tom personally built the matching stairs, including working with me to replace some rotten exterior siding. The end result is a strong, beautiful deck and stairs that will last, without the usual pressure-washing and re-coating hassle.

WORK WAS OUTSTANDING ON EVERY RESPECT. TOM MONTGOMERY WORKED WITH US PATIENTLY AND AT GREAT LENGTH TO GET THE DESIGN OF THE DECK IN PLACE. ONCE THAT WAS DONE, HIS CREW ON-SITE DID A SUPERB JOB OF ERECTING THE STRUCTURE AND FINISHING THE JOB WITHIN A FEW WEEKS. WORKMANSHIP WAS SUPERIOR, WITH HIGH-QUALITY JOINTS AND CONCRETE FOOTINGS FOR ALL SUPPORTING BEAMS. INSTALLATION OF TREX DECKING AND RAILING WAS DONE WITHOUT MUCH OF A HITCH, ALTHOUGH IT WAS A NEW TECHNOLOGY. WE COULDN'T BE MORE PLEASED WITH THE RESULT.
