My house sits next to a sensitive nature area so I want to get my second story deck permitted and done right. For months I couldn't find a contractor that is willing to follow the rules and do it right. Some didn't even bother showing up. . . . until Tom decided to take on the challenge. He helped me navigate the City of Sammamish permitting, surveying and engineering process. Lots of patience with me and with the city. Once the permit was issued, the execution was flawless. Great quality of work. Our previous dilapidated deck was an eye sore and a danger for the past 3 years of us owning the home. It took Tom, Mike and his crew only one week to transform it into a deck that we love (not exaggerating but the day they wrecked the old deck was simply cathartic and therapeutic to me). I'm highly recommending Eastside Fence and Deck.

I had Eastside Fence and Deck rebuild my deck and front porch in late January, 2024. I'm very happy with the outcome and the overall construction process. My wife and I contacted Eastside Fence & Deck based on recommendation from my colleagues. During the initial visit, we clearly saw a difference in expertise between Eastside deck and the other deck companies that visited. Tom didn't hesitate to give us suggestions even if we could've picked a different company. That level of honesty and integrity is rare these days. Eastside deck handled the design and permitting process for the new deck and porch The team began construction in late January, 2024. The team was professional and punctual and kept the construction site organized. The attention to detail was impressive. The project was completed as scheduled and there were no surprises. We are more than happy with our new TimberTech deck and porch. I strongly recommend Eastside deck and fence for any decking project.

Eastside Fence & Deck did a great job from start to finish. We enjoyed working with Tom and his crew who were professional and hard-working. Once they started our job they stayed on it, unless we ran into supply issues. Tom stayed on top of coordination with the structural engineer and building dept. and corrected any issues in a timely manner. When the job completed, the crew did an excellent job cleaning up the decks and adjacent areas. We are very happy with the finished product. They were one of the best contractors we have worked with. Would definitely hire them again!

The porch of our house (built in 1984) had rotted out and needed to be replaced. We wanted to use a synthetic material (e.g. Trek) so that we wouldn't need to paint or worry about decay. We collected a few bids and estimates from other companies, but they were double our expectations for a small porch replacement. Tom at Eastside Fence and Deck not only provided a reasonable and fair estimate, he took the time to go over all our options and let us choose the porch we wanted. He also spent time teaching us a lot about how porches are constructed and how his crew would be able to ensure proper rain runoff, match the slope of the steps up to our front door, and how everything would be to code. Tom's estimate detailed all the materials and was clear about the work. He double checked again before ordering the materials. It made us feel informed and in control. The crew was incredible. They demo'ed the old porch in a couple of hours and in a couple of days the porch was done. They did a ton of measurement to make sure it was exactly leveled and rock solid. It was exactly to what was specified and they did a perfect job on the railing and facing. Our house looks beautiful from the street and the porch is a pleasure to use. We are incredibly happy with the result. I can't recommend Eastside Fence and Deck enough. They are craftsmen, friendly and easy to work with, and get the job done quickly. I plan on hiring them for all future fence and deck work.

It has been 3 years since Eastside Fence & Deck built two decks for us, and we could not be happier. The decks still look like they are brand new and the quality of the construction is top-notch. 2 very large Douglas Fir branches came down one year during a snowstorm, and the deck barely shook. We were left with only a scratch on the top rail of the railing. Tom is extremely responsive and provided clear timelines before and during construction. Tom's employees were clearly knowledgeable as well as on time and a pleasure to have on-site. Money well spent for sure!

I need a deck and some concrete patio replaced. I had called Eastside Fence & Deck and left a brief phone message regarding what the work was and asking for a quote. A short while later, they called back and left a message saying they were booked thru the end of the year and could even bid the work. I just thought I should recognize them for a business practice (customer follow-up) that does not occur with all companies these days. I guess this is part of the reason they get great reviews on Angie's List.

Tom and his crew were easy to work with and their craftsmanship is excellent. Everyone was courteous and respectful of the property. They arrived on time and cleaned up at the end of each day. We’ve received many compliments from our neighbors. We’re very pleased with our new deck and would not hesitate to recommend Eastside Fence and Deck to anyone.

Fantastic. The fence was completed fairly quickly and with no impact to the new plants in our yard. Great problem solving for a big tree and a weird slope in one corner. It looks fantastic.

We had several bids to replace a failed composite surface on our deck. We chose Eastside Fence because Tom listened to us and had the best idea for the job we needed. We decided to go back to a cedar deck and I am glad we did. The communication with Tom was excellent, the crew showed up by 8am everyday even though the weather was wet and cold. I can not speak highly enough about Tom and his crew. We had a second story deck completely replaced with a composite material deck. I had several people come out to provide estimates. Tom was on par with cost with all of them. As an architect, I could tell from our first meeting he knew his stuff. Tom was great from design through completion. He promptly returned emails and calls, helped with providing estimates for different materials, and was easy to work with throughout construction. His crew was hardworking and punctual. You won’t be disappointed with Eastside Fence & Deck.

Excellent work; they understood how reinforced we needed the fence because of neighbor's dogs. The porch turned out great, too. Kind of pricey but excellent quality.

I couldn't be happier with the entire process. My new deck is beautiful. Eddie and Roger are Tom's builders and they are fantastic. They were at my house every day at 7:30 am ready to go, rain or shine. They do amazing work, their attention to detail is above and beyond. Tom also redid some of the siding on my house to meet better with the new deck. The work site was always cleaned up before leaving for the day and at the end of the project. I would definitely recommend Tom and his crew to anyone and I will certainly use them again when I need another project done.. You will be happy you chose them.

Tom was prompt and professional throughout the initial contact to processing the bid in addition to follow-up. In fact, he was the most timely and had the best communication of anyone I dealt with. The bid he gave was also highly competitive with multiple options (decking materials, railing options, etc.) that I had inquired about. He also seems knowledgeable and trustworthy. His company was one of my top options but my husband decided to go with a co-worker referral for a different contractor. I wouldn't have any hesitation with contacting Tom for another project in the future though.

We ended up going with another contractor but it was a tough decision not to use Tom. I really appreciated the interaction and his professionalism...you can tell he knows his stuff!

Very well. Well planned and well executed. Craftsmanship was excellent. Tom also did a great job communicating with the city concerning zoning issues.
