Work was started and completed on time and to specifications. It was a pleasure dealing with Tom and we are very pleased with the end result.

Tom from Eastside Fence and Deck was very professional and provided an estimate that was less in cost than other contractors but did not sacrifice anything in terms of quality. He was also very flexible when we made a small adjustment in our design. We are very happy with our new deck.

When our old deck needed to be replaced, we called Eastside Fence and Deck Company. Tom's pricing was fair and his willingness to work with us on materials and design was great. Tom's communication was superb, he always kept you updated and informed on the progress of the job. His crew, Roger and Eddie were very professional, always showed up on time, worked a full day, and cleaned up every evening. The deck turned out fantastic, even better than we had anticipated. We made a couple of mid project changes, one on the last day of the project which caused them to work an additional day. Without a complaint, Tom and his crew agreed to the changes and agreed to come back for another day. We have had several projects the last couple years, Eastside Fence and Deck Company have been the easiest, most pleasant company to work with. We would highly recommend them for a fence or deck project.

This is the second time I've worked with Eastside Fence and Deck. I had a deck replaced two years ago. I was again impressed by the professionalism from our first meeting through the completion of the project.

Responded right away to questions we had via email. Submitted a professional contract to us. Came within a day of when initially promised but kept us informed. Job finished in one day, haul away old and clean up. At one point there was a question about which way we wanted the facing to go ("good" side to the street or toward the house), and although there was an initial misunderstanding, it was turned around and the way I wanted it with no fuss. We are very satisfied with this contractor.

The removed and disposed of the existing wood fence which enclosed the back yard. Posts were cut at grade, concrete plugs remained in ground except at corners and gates. We had an approx. 288 linear feet. They constructed new 6? tall Modified Estate style cedar privacy fence in same footprint as existing fence along left (south) property line and return to south side of home. Construct like fence along right (north) property line in same footprint as existing fence and add approx. 31ft. to east end before returning to north side of home. Materials include 4-1/8?x4-1/8? pressure treated posts set in concrete, 2?x4? horizontal cedar stringers and top panel cap, 1?x4? #1 grade cedar fence boards and horizontal trim at top, and a decorative cedar cap on each post. The new fence measures approx. 211 linear feet. Finally, they installed a 4? wide gate in the fence sections returning to each side of home. They started and finished in the expected timeline stated. The team was professional, and there were no hidden costs or cost surprises. Overall, we were 100% satisfied with the work that was done!

Tom was very easy to work with. Has a very collaborative style, offering suggestions along the way. This was very important to us, as we were not knowledgeble on deck construction and current trends. Our deck is approximately 10 feet off the ground, which is considerably more challenging than a ground level deck. His pricing was in the middle. The finished product was a great result, and we are very happy with the quality and selection of materials, which was Azec decking.

From start to finish, excellent. Super professional, proactive, listened well and responded. Used their expertise to give us a better design. Great communication and the final product far surpassed our expectations. Will definitely use again and highly recommend!

We are very pleased with Eastside Fence and Deck. From the beginning they were most professional and provided estimate that was more detailed than other companies we requested estimates from, and also arrived faster. In addition, Tom, the owner, agreed to provide solution to the landscaping problem that caused the part of the old fence to fall, and had to be fixed before the fence could be put in. The landscaping problem had potential of developing into very serious problem and was time sensitive. In addition there was a problem of the ground level difference between our yard and the neighbor's. We did not want to hire separate companies to deal with landscaping and fence, so that not to divide the responsibility, and planned on hiring landscaping company to deal with both projects. However, because of the time of the year landscapers had long waiting times, and wee did not want to wait for the potential disaster to happen, Tom's willingness and ability to provide the solutions for our problems was very fortunate for us. As a result we had opportunity to experience Tom's professionalism and integrity. While rectifying the landscape problem works were charged on labor and materials basis, the final price was very close to the initial estimate Tom provided. The new fence looks beautiful and feels very sound. Thank you again, Tom.

We were in sort of a rush because we decided to throw a wedding in our back yard 8 weeks out. Several other deck builders were booked that far out. Tom squeezed us in comfortably ahead of the wedding. Had some great ideas for the hatches for the septic access and steps well suited to people with disabilities.

They were awesome. He's reliable, his crews show up on time, he stops by and checks the work. He stays in and took his stuff and double check the work. He was very clean and did the hallway. They were considering our space and they got it done when they were supposed to. They even started when they were supposed to.I recommend him all the time.

Tom responded to our inquiry and immediately scheduled some time to review our project. In a few days, he was at our house looking at our deck. When he heard we were just trying to fix up the deck for selling the house, he offered an estimate to use in the sale but recommended we not try to fix just for the sale of the house. I appreciated so much Tom's professionalism and honesty assessing the situation and even offering to give us an estimate while recommending we not complete the work ourselves. It is refreshing to talk to people who know their craft so well and give you accurate and professional direction on how to move forward even if their is no immediate return for themselves. We had several estimates from deck builders and landscapers. Tom came in with the best impression and price overall. Things worked like clockwork. We worked on the design (Tom, Boyfriend, and I) at time of hiring and again before any work was done. Tom would check in with us if there was an issue. He took time to explain things. He is organized and runs his business well. He and his workers did what they said they were going to do. They were extremely respectful of our property and home. There were a couple of minor issues which Tom took care of and was apologetic for. When we had mysterious discoloration on our deck after a rain he went above and beyond to remedy the situation. At the end it was time to be done and I think we all agreed but I didn't get a chance to thank Tom the one day he came over to replace a board. he didn't reply to my email. I actually had a thank you gift for him but haven't sent it b/c i never heard from him and that was definately unusual: he was always very responsive and communicative. We love our deck. Racoons were eating my chickens! I was on an emergency wait list and I was squeezed in. They were awesome.

This job went extremely well, and I was very pleased with the quality, experience, friendliness, and professionalism of the owner Tom and his crew. Tom listened to what we we wanted, and was able to quickly fill-in with his recommendations where we were uncertain. He quickly gave an initial proposal, and then we iterated with changes and new pricing over a period of a month or so as we worked out details about the railings, tubs, benches, etc. Tom scheduled the work and kept exactly to his scheduled dates. During construction he identified areas where we needed further discussion and kept us informed of progress and any issues. This crew works hard and they work very well together. We love the new deck and highly recommend this company.

Tom and crew were on time, conducted themselves professionallly and in three days the job was done. The cleanup was completed and the fence truly adds value to the home. Tom is an engaged listener who asked for my input on several largely cosmetic iisues. The compay was referred to me by Paul at Dunns Lumber in Overlake. Tom was the least expensive of five bids I received yet his work was excellent in all aspects. I highly recommend Tom and Eastside and have done so to several friends who will be calling him next Spring. Eastside and Tom clearly do superior work.

Very well. Tom and crew showed up on time and worked efficiently to complete the job as discussed. At one point, they tore out work they had already done because they weren't satisfied with the quality. What more can you ask of a service provider? RE price, they had the lowest bid of the three vendors I met with.

Neighbor replacing fence and deck; my fence continuous with theirs so opted to have Tom Montgomery and Eastside Fence & Deck replace the adjacent rotten section and gate. Thus, no competitive estimates were sought so cannot fully evaluate pricing--though it seemed very reasonable to me. Fence replacement was complicated by an unfortunate stump location. Tom identified several alternative solutions. His crew were fast and professional. Fence appears well-constructed, with sturdyfootings, level, straight, and solid. Gate level and works well, although no tensioner was installed. When I replace my deck and pergola next year, Tom and EF&D will be the front-runner among bidders.

Tom Montgomery gave me one of the five bids I solicited for my deck repair. He inspected the deck and agreed that the main structure was solid and that he could replace the cedar top deck with Azek PVC decking. He suggested adding one support column, replacing the facia boards and adding lag bolts to better secure the deck to the house, which would bring it up to code. I received his bid promptly, unlike some of the other contractors, and his price was competitive. We agreed to start the project the following month and he expected it to take four days. Tom and his crew showed up the morning of the agreed day, April 8, 2013. The first day they removed all the decking and nails and spent the next three days doing the structural upgrades and installing the PVC decking and facia. They put tarps down to protect my lawn and cleaned everything up at the end of each day.They finished the job in the stated four days. One minor quibble is that they were supposed to return when the weather dried out to do some minor caulking but did not. I don't think it was entirely necessary anyway. Overall the quality of the work was excellent and the workers were polite and professional. I would have no hesitation recommending Eastside Fence and Decking to anyone.

It was great talking through the project with Tom, both for the ideas he brought to the table and how he listened to our needs and design ideas. We ended up going with someone else that could also do the landscaping portion of the project, but would have been glad to work with Tom.

I played phone tag with Eastside Fence & Deck Company a little bit. He gave us a figure based on the details I gave him and asked if we wanted him to come out. I kind of surprised he would give a figure over the phone, so I didn't call him back.

Tom was very easy to work with and provided a detailed estimate in a timely fashion. His bid was reasonable and compared well with others I received. The truth is, two of the estimates I got were neck in neck and I couldn't choose both. I wanted to do this project at the same time as another related project this year and the other company seemed easier to coordinate schedules with. I would definitely consider Eastside for any future work though.

He was comprehensive and I was left with no questions as to what he is going to be doing. It's been a positive experience with them. He was very clear about removing and disposing and hauling away an existing fence. He gave me a line drawing of the fence he is replacing my fence with. He is going to come back out to make sure we are still on the same page. He was great.

We had three deck builders (all from Angies List) come out to make suggestions on building us a new deck and provide us with a bid. All were good, but we liked Tom's approach the best and he'd come up with an idea for the stairs (in a difficult spot) that was unique and attractive. Because it was so late in the year, we put off making a decision until this spring, but called Tom back first thing. He came out and we made final decisions about materials, stairs, railings, etc. He provided the revised estimate and we scheduled a start date that was about 3 weeks out. Everything went very smoothly after that. In fact, we were surprised at HOW well things went! Tom seemed to have anticipated all issues and even when small things came up he handled them promptly -- communicating exceptionally well with us throughout the project. Tom was onsite most of the time as a working member of the team and his two other employees are obviously very experienced and skilled. They arrived promptly each morning at 8 (or before) and worked hard all day. The job was estimated at two weeks and was completed just a day or two late (the stairs were a bit complicated and we decided part way through to add lights to the staircase). The job site was well cleaned upon conclusion. In general we can't give high enough praise to Tom and his team!

After having Tom of Eastside Fence & Deck price several material options, we decided to replace our deck with clear cedar. Although clear cedar is more expensive than the tightknot cedar, we're really happy with our decision. Tom is very honest, professional and responsive (even with each material option we asked him to price for us). Because our deck is so close to the ground, Tom was unable to inspect the existing structure to determine if it needed replacing until the old deck surface was removed. Once the old surface was removed, Tom inspected the deck structure and assured us it was still in good shape. Because we were able to reuse the existing structure, we saved several thousand $ which was a nice surprise. Our project was started and finished on time and Eastside Fence & Deck thoroughly cleaned up when the project was completed. Eastside Fence & Deck takes a lot of pride in their work and really pays attention to detail. Our new deck is really beautiful and we would definitely use Eastside Fence & Deck again.
