Acquire a fantastic landscape for your home or office! Bear Creek Landscapes LLC is an Eastside landscape company which offers terrific looking landscaping that is within your budget.
I emailed them with times and dates I would be available for services. They then sent back an email stating we are presently booked out for 2 months and that this was an old deal from back in the Spring and was I willing to wait. I tried getting in contact with them numerous times and left messages and have not heard anything back from them at all.

They came out immediately and were professional, but they were too high; so I ended up not using them. They quoted $700 - $750 a month. It was just more than we were willing to pay.

We were referred to Bear Creek for installation by our horitculturist who designed our new landscaping plan. We are so pleased that we went with Bear Creek. They did a fabulous, quality job. Mike and his team are very responsive to communications and excellent with customer service. Mike made some very thoughtful suggestions to help the health of the overall project, drainage, roots, etc. We have decided to continue monthly maintenance with them and have been very satisfied.
Description of Work: Replaced and reconfigured hardscape cement walkway and driveway, side walkways and back porch. Installed new drip and sprinkler system. Cleared old landscaping, prepared soil, graded, installed sod, new plantings and trees, rock retaining wall. And we have used them for monthly maintenance.

The "landscape consultation" is just a sales pitch for whatever they want to try. They proposed a gravel path, but did not provide any sketch. I specifically said via email I wanted a wood border, and instead they just laid some large rocks. It was quite different from what I was expecting, though not bad. Charge for landscape gravel was much more than going rate, 75 per yard vs. 35. General yard clean up was satisfactory. Lesson learned is not to purchase hours of work which have no concrete deliverable, and don't accept any additional work without a sketch. Price was as quoted.

The consultation is not a sales pitch. Quite often with these deals the consumer is not aware of what time and material is really involved to accomplish their task . IN this case , this house was a rental . The place was neglected for quite some time. The owner didnt even take the time to meet us onsite and all communication done via email... This deal is good for general gardening as you can read from other testimonials below. Re_landscaping and major renovation the deal helps a bit on labor only..

I purchased an Angie's List deal for 12 man hours of landscaping. After a couple of e-mail exchanges to ensure that the work I needed done would be covered, we scheduled the work a few days out. Two workers arrived right on time and got straight to work. The amount that they were able to accomplish in 6 hours was very impressive. They cleared a large garden of weeds, hauled and spread wood chips to the same garden, pruned a number of bushes and cleaned up the clippings, edged a large section of grass and cleaned up winter debris from many beds. I'd definitely hire Bear Creek Landscaping again for future needs.

AMAZING The quality of Bear Creek Landscaping is simply top notch. I was absolutely blown away to return home and see our yard glowing -- it looks so incredible. Having spent all our weekends for years attempting to maintain our landscape, my wife and I can appreciate more than anyone just how talented and hard-working was their crew. The attention to detail is spectacular, including every square inch of the lot, pulling tough-rooted weeds between rocks and rampant ivy, layering bark beautifully, cleaning a beat-up driveway, and even removing a gigantic stump which we'd resigned would otherwise sit there forever having no way to budge it ourselves (still not sure how they did it!). Our 60-year old place looks brand new. Huge thanks to everyone at Bear Creek Landscaping for their outstanding service, organization, talent, and work effort. We are so lucky to have discovered you here!!

I got first an estimate with Tammy who came over to see what was needed. She also had great ideas and suggestions. I went along with her suggestions. A great crew of 3 came over to do the job, they were very efficient and did an excellent job. My courtyard is so nice now that I want to spend all my time outside. They left they area clean of any debris it was like moving into a new house. I already am asking for new quote on a different area of my home.

I originally met with company on 3/31 and I received their proposal including cost for services not covered in original deal. Work was started on 4/21 and completed on 4/22. Three workers worked the job for 9 hours the first day and 2 finished the job the second day in just an hour. The workers were respectful, and other than a lunch break and one short afternoon break, worked steady all day. They asked me questions when necessary. I am so happy with their work, I have hired them to maintain the yard in the future on a weekly basis.
Description of Work: The company completed Spring Clean up which included for our large yard (both front and back) removing all weeds and debris, covering fir tree roots with wood chips, 5 yards top soil and mulch. They mulched all gardens, removed small maple tree stump, added a soaker hose to front garden, and planted a new maple tree.

I made that point very clear more than once. It took two calls and 10 days later before a rep came out. I made it clear about the vegy garden. However the rep needed to write up a proposal. When I finally got the estimate ( after another 5 days and 2 more unanswered calls) he had raised the price way above the 538 dollars that I had already paid and he added another 12 hrs. of work. All I wanted was weeding for 12 hrs. I did not get an itemized estimate, so I don't know what he thought the work entailed. When I contacted him about this he simply said I needed to e-mail the co. to make a plan and get on a list. Seriously?? In the mean time- the company designer promptly and eagerly called me several times to meet with me. They wanted to make a plan to help me with landscaping. The company seems very eager to create work and rack up a bill, yet almost unwilling to fulfill the agreement I had already paid for in a timely manner.

The company showed up fairly reliably. Twice (our initial and final service) they showed up on a different day than I was told they would. The work they did was acceptable. We recently decided not to renew our contract with the company for a second year. There were three main reasons: 1. Inconsistent billing - Several times there was a problem with the delivery of our bill (not with the amount). For example I received past due notices when I never received an initial bill. Another month I paid and still got a past due notice. I did not want to have to worry every month about the bill, and because of the billing history I wasn't comfortable having them automatically credit my account. (They have changed their billing service recently so this might change.) 2. The landscaping in my yard was almost non-existent when we bought the property. A fair amount of time and money was spent adding plants to the beds. Unfortunately, a lot of those plants were destroyed by the yard crews. After the first time I marked plants with red ribbon. They still got cut, but I thought maybe they were still not well marked. I then marked individual plants with fluorescent pink tape. I also made sure to leave the white tags in with plants when I planted them. Some plantings also got surrounded by a ring of stones. Another area (wildflowers) I marked off with stakes tied with pink flagging. Several times I found the fluorescent tape shredded across my yard from being mowed. Rocks were pushed aside and the plants cut apart. Others were chopped by the weeding tools and most of the tags are missing. In the beginning I did not want to complain about a few willow stakes being killed - but every month something new was chopped up. 3. I brought the second concern to the landscaping company when they asked me to renew my contract. Instead of apologizing or attempting reparations, they just let me know when my final dates of service would be. I want to work with a company that wants happy clients - not one that just tells you "goodbye".
Description of Work: They provided biweekly landscape maintenance for our home for one year. This included initial mulching and then mowing, weeding and blowing. They also provided scheduled lawn treatments (fertilizer, aeration).

This included removing the old wall, removing about a foot of the dirt wall (to create more lawn space), install a new wall with decorative concrete blocks, and seed the new lawn space. We were very happy with Bear Creek throughout the process. Their bid was competitive with others, they showed up on time, finished the project when they said they would, and were very responsive when we had questions. It has been 6 months since the project and our back yard looks great.

Work was fine, not anything extraordinary. Over the past couple years, I had become concerned with how muddy the yard was getting and expressed that concern only to be told basically, it was a wet year, etc. No solutions, no suggestions. I knew there had to be more than a wet winter causing the mess and found another contractor that was able to identify the problem (a leak in the irrigation system for one) and propose a solution. I am just disappointed that I didn't push harder for a solution with Bear Creek, or rather, that they wanted to help me solve the problem. I stopped using the company for the monthly maintenance after that.
Description of Work: Monthly landscaping/yard work/lawn maintenance. Original had the company assist with a finish on a new patio in 2008, which was done well and met expectations. From there, I had the company help with some re-plantings/re-arranging to get the garden to be more of a low maintenance yard.

I am disappointed that this customer had to write a complaint on Angies list rather than just be forthright with me about her concerns. We met through a referral and have done extensive improvements on her property for her, that greatly enhanced her place. She was receiving A service every time she asked for something. We gave her an estimate for the water situation and never heard back from her. She is a busy executive , however it takes two to tango...I am glad she got her water problem fixed , however good luck to the next person...
Went great, from early consultation and design to completion. The company's estimates were good. A change order was not a problem and we had ample time to review and consider the change (use of capstones). An unexpected weather event required to pull their crew from our project (which was not urgent) and this was explained to us in time. It did not affect our deadline. The crew pays incredible attention to detail. They are very eager to explain plans and show examples as they are working. Very friendly guys. One point that lacked precision in the contract had to do with existing material placement for future reuse, but was not a cause for dissatisfaction -- I mention it in case you have many moving pieces and require a very detailed breakdown of the work items. We are very pleased with the company and then end result. We fully recommend them and will continue to do business with them.
Description of Work: Rebuilt and extended patio (~900 ft^2). Rebuilt entrance steps and landing. Rebuilt front flowerbed and added retaining walls. Established crushed rock utility path. Price includes materials cost.

They were prompt in their arrival and after some discussions with them about a problem area in the back we concluded that the best approach was to rework the new "gardens" and instead of 2 .. we would have 1 continuous garden from front to back. This would involve additional work and costs, but it really was the best solution for our issues and we agreed to the "change order" after talking with the 'project manager". They thatched and aerated the entire front and back yard (which was approximately 8,000 sq. ft.) Due to the poor condition of the yard there was a rather large number of complete bare spaces in the front and a smaller number in the back. Sand was applied as well as moss killer. While this was happening others in the crew were marking off the new garden area and removing the old grass. Topsoil was installed and the garden was made ready for the new plants. Within a couple of days all of the plant material appeared and with the help of the project manager the plants were placed in their respective locations and the planting process began. While some of the guys did the planting another was busy installing additional landscape stones around the new garden area .. which was another agreed upon change order. The final step was to "plant" the new lawn seed .. which was done. The whole process took about 3 or 4 days. The crew was excellent in answering all of our questions. They also adjusted and reworked some of the existing sprinklers to provide adequate water coverage for our new yard. They also pruned our Katsura tree to better reflect it's appearance AND provide some additional sunlight to the garden area. Our concern here is that after following the watering directions (twice a day rain or shine) from the project manager a majority of the seeded bare spots in both the front and back yards didn't "grow". We believe that this was due to the fact that the weather was hot and our yard gets lots of sun .. and in particular a lot of hot afternoon sun. The suggestion of continuing to water didn't work ( and I now have a $1200.00 water bill to pay) so I asked others in the landscaping business what we should have done. The answer was simple ...... add starter fertilizer, new seed and cover the bare spots with peat moss. I followed this advice and now the yard is in much better shape. While there are still a few locations that are "slow starters" it's a dramatic improvement from what was originally there. My concern is that a landscaping company should know that new lawn (or blatant bare spots) require a little TLC and not just the normal "reseeding". Having said all of this, I would .. and most likely will ... invite them to come back and help out with existing garden areas so we can have some "harmony" in the yard.
Description of Work: The project was to cut out two new garden areas (both of which were rather large and ran along the property lines in the backyard and the side yard from front to back), finish building the block wall we had started and renew our lawn in both the front and back.

I had Bear Creek Landscaping LLC come out and make a bid on a job, but I did not use their bid. They quoted me about a week and a half two weeks ago. I got a quote on shrubbery, planting, a fence redone and some grass work done as well, landscaping. Multiple piece bid it was over $1000. We got a lower bid from another company. We also did less of the work than we thought we were going to have done. I thought they were very professional, they were timely on their bid and they were fairly easy to understand when they were talking about some of the things that they were going to do. Over all I thought they were good, they just didn't have the price and then we kind of changed our mind.

I would never hire them again. My neighbor fired them, I fired them, and another neighbor down the street fired them. They have no resources. They have no equipment and they sub out everything. They sub out materials, if I want my lawn grated they hire a contractor to come in and grate and then they charge double their fees. I had a fence installed and after they installed it, I checked with other companies and I could have had it done for 1/3 of the price that Bear Creek charged me. I made it so that they cannot work in our sub-division. I want people who are thinking about using these people to be aware. They just flat out lie.

This person was thrilled with the work after we started and signed a contract for many items.. He constantly changed his mind what he wanted throughout the job from the get go. He doesnt understand how contracts work and what a change order involves. He would try to get extra work done for free and I wouldnt let him do that. . Certain projects require subs. I have excellent ones... Extensive research went into the materials that he wanted for his fence and the project was delayed due to trying to please him.. He got frustrated and just outright fired us.Everything in his post is a lie about the neighbors.I still work for his next door neighbor.. He is totally unprofessional and a hot head. I would not hire/ work for the customer if you paid ME....

Bear Creek Landscapes were professional. They were very quick and cleaned up after the work. Not only did they make my side look nice but they made my neighbor’s side look nice too as this is a divider between two property owners so even my neighbor was pleased. They were very responsive. The total area looked professional and clean. They made the connecting structure look like it was a part of the project even though actually it wasn’t. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I have used the services of Bear Creek Landscapes for installing a fence on our property.
I have a smallish backyard that originally had a fairly steep slope leading to a greenbelt and uneven ground covered with sickly grass and moss. The project included building a rock retaining wall and bringing in back fill and topsoil to get rid of the slope and level out the yard. We added pavers around the small concrete slab to increase the side of my patio and removed all the grass and planted a variety of trees and shrubs and then spread bark around. Mike and his crew did an amazing job! Mike was great about getting back to me with a quote and for scheduling the work, and he was very patient as it took several months to get the project approved by my HOA. His crew were working hard virtually every minute they were here, and the whole project took only 3 days. They also made sure that at the end of each day, the street in front of my house was cleared of whatever materials they'd had delivered that day (rock, soil, bark) and swept the area as well. Now my backyard is what I always wanted it to be, a calm, pretty spot where I can relax and unwind. I highly recommend Bear Creek Landscapes for your next project.
Description of Work: Backyard remodel. Built rock retaining wall, removed yard slope, installed patio pavers, landscaped with plants.
