Description of Work: Complete overhaul,updating, of front yard. Installed soil berms, decorative stones, planted lots of shrubs and perennials, and spread 5 yards of fine bark, removed rotted ties and replaced with new landscape ties. Installed decorative yard lighting to highlight the overhauled area. They had the machinery to make the job a#1 and I recommend them to anyone interested in updating or preparing their property.

Description of Work: I tried getting Olympic to bid a job that we roughly thought would be around $35,000, before becoming an angie's list member. This is a big number to us, and I expected excellence and responsiveness. The first meeting went really well, I thought. I felt comfortable and discussed great ideas about the project at hand as well as other options for potential future projects. We seemed to have a similar aesthetic as the estimator, so I was excited. I was told that I would be getting a very detailed bid for the project at hand (we had plans for structures and concrete for porch and two outdoor covered/enclosed living spaces). He also said that he'd bid separately what it would cost us to get plans for the other ideas that we'd discussed. What we got was an email with an hourly design rate. We asked a couple times about the bid for the actual, current project that we wanted done immediately, and never received anything other than "I'll get right on it." We've gotten nothing other than " $80/hour for design services" -- which isn't what we need or were promised. Now that I'm on Angie's, I see the responses from the company to poor reviews tend to be pretty defensive and put blame on the customers for all sorts of temperment or communications problems. Okay, that can happen. I've been in customer service and I do understand how horrible people can get sometimes. But, surely not ALL of those customers were 110% the cause of the problem? Usually, communication is a 2-way street. I think that perhaps the customers who say they felt good at first, but were very disappointed in the end may have a good point. Perhaps, the company should take some of this feedback to heart, rather than get into such a defensive stance. From our initial meeting, I would have thought Olympic was the contractor for us! It seemed like it was a great fit. Also, we are nice, easy-going people who get along with contractors and other people all the time. So, I'm pretty sure that our poor experience and the communication problems we had with this company were not our fault. It was so long ago, I'm not sure anymore when they were here. My husband is keeping a spreadsheet, I'll try to come back with specific dates. We are starting over with our bidding process. We got no bid from Olympic, a ballpark bid that was off-the-cuff from a couple places, and delays in scheduling from another company. I guess it is just too small a job? $35K doesn't seem small to us.... We are now considering just subbing this ourselves, just so that we can actually get it done.

Description of Work: They completely relandscaped our front yard and laid down new sod for the entire yard.

Description of Work: Olympic Landscape and Irrigation completely transformed my yard. They created the design, installed a rock wall, resculpted a problem corner slope, sub-contracted the installation of new front steps and installed 4 large trees and a dozen primary shrubs. They also installed a Rainbird irrigation system.
