Hi, I am Kelli Cruz, the owner and CEO of Cascade Fire Solutions in Puyallup, WA. I have been in the hearth industry since 2006. Cascade Fire Solutions is licensed, bonded and insured. We service most makes and models of fireplace- gas or wood burning. We no longer service pellet stoves and inserts unless the unit is one that was purchased from us. Our specialty is fireplace remodels. As you can see from our portfolio we take the project from start to finish. In other words we do the demo work, run gas lines, sell and install the fireplace and finish it off with stone work. We also repair and rebuild chimneys. Got to my chimney cleaning and stove repairs the day after I called. Brock (the technician) was very resourceful in solving some problematic issues. Work turned out beautifully. And it was done quickly, efficiently.

He came to my house in his personal vehicle. he was supposed to show up and clean and service my fireplace, but he shows up with no equipment and 5 minutes into it he tells me I need $450 worth of service without even getting his hands dirty. And proceeds to tell me that he can't do the work because he's not certified they will send out a gas certified technician. But when I said no to the service he said okay but it's still going to cost you for today's 10 minutes show up $75 dollars for absolutely nothing do not use these people.

We hired Cascade Fire solutions for a MAJOR project involving the removal of a HUGE existing double fireplace and then rebuilding a new smaller profile gas fireplace allowing for more of an open concept between our dining/living room. We could not be happier with the work they did and the end result of a gorgeous peninsula fireplace! During the entire project, they were in constant communication with my husband and I. They had a total of 5 employees working on the project and we were so impressed with their teamwork, knowledge and precision. They completed the project on time and left a clean work area each day. I would definitely hire Cascade Fire Solutions for any future fireplace work!

I wasn't aware that a remote control thermostat was an option when we were talking to the sales person. I thought a regular thermostat would be standard for a Wood burning stove. It was not. I still may purchase a remote control thermostat before winter sets in. The guys who installed our wood stove did an amazing job and gave us the information about the thermostat. Thanks for such a great job!

Job appears to be well done, but it should not take over a month to complete. I had to initiate all communication and all follow up calls, by Cascade, were never on time, as promised. I hope that Cascade learns something from my review, such as verification of an ordered part. I would also suggest, that you inform customers about the toxic smell when painting fireplace inserts.

Their salesman was very knowledgeable and gave me good guidance for what gas fireplace would best suit my needs. Gave them a slight hit for starting a day late after I had taken time off work on the day they said they would be there. But they finished the job on time despite the delay and the work quality is great. The guy who met me after I got home from work was very informative and showed me how to use the fireplace in detail and said I could call any time if I had questions or problems. Overall great experience and would hire them again.

Tuesday, 12 Feb 2019: Home Advisor provides a list of companies able to repair an eleven-year-old Heat & Glo fireplace. I selected Cascade Fire Solutions, Inc. of Puyallup who sent two technicians, Darrel and Jodie, and they arrived at one oclock. They checked out the system and Darrell noted the pilot light fixture was worn and almost burned away. He recommended that an additional air exchange element would be more efficient and should give us many years of continued service. I signed the estimate and pre-paid $1,000.00 for the project. They stated they would have parts and be able to complete the project on 21 Feb.2019. Thursday, 21 Feb 2019: Cascade Fire Solutions, Inc. failed to show. I called the company at the end of the day and they rescheduled for Friday, 22 Feb 2019. Friday, 22 Feb 2019: Cascade Fire Solutions, Inc. again failed to show. Saturday, 23 Feb 2019: Darrell discovered the part he ordered was too tall for the model fireplace we have. He would reorder the correct part and bring that unit with him on Tuesday, 25 Feb 2019. Tuesday, 25 Feb 2019: Darrell reevaluated his estimate and stated the project would now require an additional $900.00 to sweep the chimney and install an electrical hookup. New appointment scheduled. Tuesday, 05 Mar 2019: A technician called in sick, appointment moved to Saturday, 09 Mar 2019. Saturday, 09 Mar 2019: Jodie, one of the two technicians who met us for the first appointment arrived first. A couple of minutes later Chris, a new technician, arrived. Darrell would not be working on the fireplace today. Jodie began immediately to remove the fireplace insert while Chris looked at the electrical options. He determined that the line he planned to use to install the hookup was not long enough so he went to the hardware store to get additional cable. Then Chris installed an electric switch box. Jodie checked the chimney and discovered the upper portion had old creosote which had glazed over but there was some right above the old firebox and it was *fuzzy* so he cleaned it out. He did not wish to clean the entire chimney as he thought it did not need it and if he pulled the liner it might stretch it and he did not have a replacement. Jodie re-calibrated the remote control however that failed again a few minutes later and we asked him to just reinstall the side switch as we have been using that alone for several years. After installing a new pilot light, adding new *glowing* embers, and cleaning the hearth he ended the project. Monday, 11 Mar 2019: Cascade Fire Solutions, Inc. telephoned to bill us for the additional $900.00 increase of the project. The emailed receipt states only *11 Mar 2019, $900.00 Payment ID: PHEG4R660F9R2 Cashier: KELLI CRUZ* but does not describe the work that was done. To date, the original cost estimate has nearly doubled ($1,000.00 plus $900.00) but the technician did not clean the full chimney nor replace the liner which, presumably, would have been included in that additional estimate. There was no reduction for estimated work not performed. Furthermore, we have spent a month dealing with missed or incomplete appointments.

I would never hire them again. They came out about two weeks ago, said it was all messed up by the way it was put together, so they need to order parts, paid them more than $870, and they have not been back since; no follow up call back, no set up of an appointment, nothing. We called them back twice and each time they said they would call us back to set an appointment. They never did. We are calling them back again today. If we do not like the results of what they say, we are taking it to the police.

Sadly, I have to say my experience with this company probably ranks as the worst service experience I have had to date. I am in a personal service business. If these people worked for me they would be finding new places to work. The staff very rarely answers the phone. Voice mail messages do not get returned even though the recording says the office is open 8 to 5. They are rude in that they give you a schedule and never show up or call to advise of a nonappearance or even a new date. You sit at home wasting your time for a no show. They take your money up front for parts and that is the last you hear from them. I do not know how HomeAdvisor has them as an approved contractor. UPDATE 3/4/2019: Having just read the response to my original review, I am doubling down on my original comments. They are not truth tellers. If they were a professional organization they would have communicated that information instead of standing us up.
