"I have been a faithful customer of Grassi’s for 5+ years. They’ve installed 3 systems for me and serviced 4. I am a small business owner in town and don’t take negative reviews lightly. As of today, Grassi has lost me as a loyal customer. Over the past 6 months we’ve had consistent issues with a couple systems (5+ call outs to 2 properties). To their credit, since the units are under warranty they say they will warranty the parts. Even still we are at $1,700+ costs thus far. Today, our tenant was cold and turned on the heater. It is 60 degrees outside. Grassi is charging for another callout as the units that they worked on within the month threw another code. Their technician, Cody, called us and told us that this is an operator error, blaming our tenant for their machine malfunction, as these are “not designed to heat when the temperature outside is above 60”. These are the only heat source for the house as recommended and installed by Grassi. What is our tenant supposed to do? I don’t believe this is an engineering issue as I have more faith in Carrier (the brand installed) or my tenant, who deserves to be comfortable. My take is that this was either poorly installed or poorly recommended. When asking more questions Cody, the technician, told us that we knew nothing about refrigeration and hung up on us."

"Hurliman installed a furnace for us on 12/20/23 and an air conditioning unit this summer. While the state inspector came to look at the air conditioning unit he also looked at the furnace. Although last winter Hurliman told us the furnace passed inspection after it was installed- it was NEVER INSPECTED and the inspector found three code violations. Our broken air conditioning unit was misdiagnosed by their tech and we spent $1,937 on a so-called fix that didn't work. We were then given an estimate for a $7,604.20 new AC unit which was higher than the price range listed on their website. Although they listed eight different AC manufacturers on their website that should have various price points, they refused to offer us estimates for any other more affordable units because there was so much demand in the summer so they "don't have to". That's not a company with integrity, that's called gouging. We ended up going with one of their competitors who installed a quality air conditioner (one of the same brands listed on Hurliman's website) for almost $2,000 less than what Hurliman was going to charge us."
