Procraft Windows and Doors

I received an estimate, ordered the work, and it was done as promised and expected -- on time, on budget. This is the third year I've ordered windows from Procraft and every time, they have exceeded my expectations. They're a very reliable and professional company.

I replaced all the approximately 45+ aluminum-frame windows and wooden French Doors in my 1990 home with energy-efficient windows and doors. I staggered the work out over a 7 year period due to the high cost, and periodic rebate and tax incentives. I used four different contractors. Procraft was the last, and best. Based on the first batch they did, I decided to have them return a couple months later and finish the house. Sales manager Lawrence Robin came out each time to do the rough measuring and wrote up the bids on the spot. Lawrence is very experienced, low-key, polite and friendly. After we agreed on the bid, and I made a deposit, his office scheduler called to arrange for their tech to come out to do the exact measurements, and then they placed the order. After the windows were manufactured, the installation (two man) crew came out to remove and replace windows and trim. The crew unfortunately cracked several windows when installing the glazing into the frames. This was attributed to either a slight oversizing of the glazing, or too much silicone, causing the glass to break from stress. In any case, the crew was very apologetic, and reordered the glass on the spot from Milgard. It arrived promptly, and the crew returned to replace it successfully. The second batch of windows, done a couple months later, was flawless. The crew was a delight to work with, and very friendly. My old windows had embedded burglar alarm reed switches, and although no window contractor I have used will replace them (they always tell you to have your alarm company show up at the same time to do it), the Procraft crew was willing to work with me and drill holes, and then wait while I replaced the switches myself, thus saving time and money. Based on my experiences with other window contractors, Procraft's experience and product knowledge has been superior, and I especially liked working with their entire staff. My only problem was a major hassle processing the Puget Sound Energy rebate, because Procraft's initial documentation was inadequate, and my application was rejected by PSE. We eventually worked that out. So, a word to the wise: if PSE offers a rebate, be sure to demand an itemized legible, invoice (not just an estimate or bid) from the contractor, showing square footage, type of window, etc. Another item of advice: another reviewer complained that the contractor wouldn't take "end to end responsibility" to include window frame/trim painting. None of the contractors I worked with would, either, which was fine with me -- I'd rather not pay the window company a markup to subcontract a painter, nor would I expect window installers to be expert painters. Procraft did recommend a great painter they work with, who I used, and who I liked so much that I had him return and paint most of my house.

They ended up ordering 1 window in the wrong size, which they were more than apologetic for. They quickly followed up to make it right. We were happy with the services. We would highly recommend them.

Probably the best experience we've ever had with a contractor or service provider. We'd been wanting to replace our windows for quite a long time but could never pull the trigger once the estimates came in. Finally, we had to get it done. We couldn't have been happier with the estimator who provided great assistance helping us decide which windows would look best on our home. The crew doing the work was amazing and extremely thoughtful while in the home keeping the disruption to a minimum. They performed as though choreographed and were very detailed with the installation and cleanup. I'd be happy to recommend Procraft to anyone needing to get their windows done - they will NOT be sorry for choosing such a fine company.

Fantastic. Several years ago we had Procraft replace 22 windows in our home, and were very pleased with the entire experience. Now we needed to replace a sliding glass door so they were the first call I made. Once again they came through and met all my expectations. All staff I dealt with either on the phone or in person were very courtious & professional. The door looks great and works perfectly.

They always showed up when scheduled. Product arrived when they said it would. Excellent installation because they cleaned up everywhere when they completed the installation.

They showed up on time and I had a great interaction with their person. We discussed the price and they gave me a written bid that was exceptional. We had an issue with the manager not wanting to honor the bid given by their employee in writing. They finally agreed to honor it after I mentioned Angie's List but it seemed odd that they did not support the agreement their employee signed on the estimate. After that, the installation went smoothly and the work was excellent. I would recommend and use them again.

It was OK. We had Procraft and one other company come out. The other company had a much more expensive bid and they were unable to figure out why. We had Procraft do the work. The project went fine. They were here when expected. It took them all day to do the work, but they got it done. The windows are fine and what we expected. They went into the basement so that let a lot more light in.

Our first home visit for review and estimate was on time and went well. No hard sell. Rep was knowledgeable, listened to what we wanted and recommended products in line with our wants. Installers were on time, neat, careful, friendly and answered all our questions as they did their work. Overall a very positive experience. Doors are what we selected and work well. So far, so good.

Came to house to provide estimate, and there was no pressure to purchase more windows than we wanted. Pricing is competitive. Called ahead to make an appointment for installation, and arrived on time. Very professional installation and follow-up. There was a small tear in the patio screen door. They replaced the entire mesh with new material, rather than trying to fix just the torn portion. I definitely will call them again when we get ready to replace more windows.

The job went easy. Was right on time and within budget. We would always use Procraft for any window and door job we need. Love these guys!!

The company was very professional, we had a few go arounds as to whether the building was real stucco or not. Be aware the stucco question is an important one if you have to replace windows. It adds a layer of complexity if your home is not true stucco. But the manager called me directly a few times as we discussed it all. I was really impressed with the amount of care they took to be sure this would be successful. We also experienced a little scheduling/rescheduling issue, but since the home was empty, I was willing to go with that. And the final result is wonderful, the place looks great, and we have so much better energy efficiency now!

Of the estimates we obtained, this was the only company with access to the proper replacement grids for our 20 year old Weathervane windows. (Weathervane no longer makes or services these and a large percentage of them fail). We used Procraft on two separate occasions approximately a year apart and our experience was similar both times. Their salesmen and service technicians were very cordial and polite. Unfortunately, when it came to getting the job done right the first time, they consistently came up short with us. Both times some of the glass was either mis-manufactured, measured incorrectly or broke in transit, resulting in cancelled appointments, return trips and a great deal of wasted time for us and for them. To their credit, the installer they sent seemed to take pride in his work and wanted us to be satisfied with the finished product. We just wish that they'd get it right the first time and avoid all of the back and forth. We also feel that they should make more of an effort to punctual, particularly when their need to return is based on an error on their part. It would make the client feel as though their time is valued and their business appreciated. Sadly, we were not left with that feeling. Recent additional research has revealed that there are others out there who can match these grids. If this is an issue for you we suggest that you do your homework!

Procraft rep. came on time, measured the old windows carefully, offered us options to choose from, and throughout the process was professional and not at all pushy. He came across as very knowledgeable and experienced in the business. The installers came on time, were careful to place cloth over the carpet to keep the rooms clean, and did an excellent job, paying attention to details such as fitting of the inside and outside frames, and final caulking. Overall the job performed was excellent.

The estimate they gave me was more than twice of wahat I got from 2 other companies both of which are well rated on Angies list. I was quoted about $5400 and the work has already been completed to my satisfaction for less than $2000

I first contacted Procraft about 18 months ago to replace my living room and bedroom windows. These were very large double-pane window sets that had been made by Weathervane in the 1980s, and the seals had broken causing them to fog up. The salesman showed up promptly and was courteous, but was unwilling to take end-to-end responsibility for installing the windows, including painting the exterior and finishing the interior to match the existing set. (Lindal windows makes a replacement set for the old Weathervanes, and they are wood and need finishing.) He said that Procraft was a window company, not a painting company and I would have to handle the window finishing myself. I checked with a number of other window companies, and none were willing to take end-to-end responsibility, and finally I settled on Procraft because they were responsive and professional. The windows arrived as scheduled. I arranged separately with a painter to have the exterior painted and interiors finished. This was a good thing, because if Procraft had installed them unfinished in the middle of November, I think they would have had to have been covered by plastic till spring, or the bare wood might have gotten damaged by the rains. The installers showed up on time and were efficient and professional. My only complaint is that some of the cuts they had to do in my wall left some crooked gaps visible from the outside.

They did excellent work. The things I like about them especially was their clean up and professionalism. They did a good job adjusting everything and the new windows looks better than the old ones did of course. The made the inside and outside of the house cleaner than when they got there. They also found some other air leaks that had not been fixed previously and they fixed it and they house was warmer and the house looks great.

From the time we consulted with Samy about our needs and our estimate, to Sky who as the Operations Manager made sure everything was set up and ran smoothly, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our installers, John and Robert were excellent, polite and professional and did the installation quickly and efficiently. The last few days have been windy and rainy and we no longer have the wind whistling through our upstairs because of defectiive windows. Thanks all of you! I've been recommending you to all of my neighbors.

The installers were on time. That's the best thing I can say about them. One complained about how much work he had to do to remove the old door and that it would make him late to his next job. The other installer used the bathroom twice in three hours. The door did not seat properly...I had to lean my body into the door to slam it shut. When I complained about it he said that was the best they could do. I contacted my sales rep who sent someone out to figure out the problem. He sanded down the frame. It was better but still not right as there was now a gap between the two doors. I called again. They sent another person out who discovered that the original installer forgot to put a few screws in the frame. The door is fine now but the frustration and number of service calls required to get it right were very frustrating. The window install was okay...although they did not intend to frame it, as requested. It took a phone call the office to get that done. My sales rep did report my problems with the install to the owner who wrote me a very nice letter of apology.

The salesman was quick to respond to our calls, followed up on all our calls, and came out for a detailed estimate of the work. The scheduling person was a little difficult to get a hold of; in retrospect I should have just called every day until I got him. Once we finally connected, the installation happened quickly. The installer showed up on time and was polite and professional. He cleaned up after his work and the glass looked beautiful. Overall, my experience was very positive.

They had done a significant amount of work. It is an older house and because of that there were a few glitches after the windows were installed, and they had come back and fixed it. They were willing to come back on very short notice which was impressive. The beading around the frame is consistent. The work is really clean and it looks good. They had done minimal damage on the old windows while installing the new ones. I was here when the work was going on and had noticed all what they had done. They had done an excellent job.

It was an easy process. From the estimate to the completed installation, everything went smoothly. We had some tiles on a few window sills and we didn't quite know how to deal with that, but Chris and RJ (the installers) suggested a solution that worked out perfectly! They set the windows in a way to preserve the tiles, then he wood-framed them outside to match the rest of our house. A great solution and he did NOT charge me for the extra trim.

They replaced 20 windows in on 2 floors and also updated them to more attractive and energy efficient. The person that came in and did the work knew what he was doing and when I asked him for customer references, he pulled out a binder which was 4 inches thick. He flipped it open and showed me the name, address and phone numbers, so I could call them. The best thing about them is that after the installation, they cleaned up after themselves. Everything was done very professionally, so the out come was a good product at a good price.

We liked everything about them. They were much more professional compared to two other companies that we had contacted. After we made an appointment with them a representative came out and went over things with us. We ordered the windows from them. The representative was very professional and helpful. After 5 or 6 weeks they had the windows made and available. The crew who installed the windows was very good. They worked throughout the day. They were cheerful, friendly and cooperative. They did a good job. We found few glitches in the installation so they came back within a week and fixed them.

Johann was very responsive and knowledgeable. We felt very good about this company but chose not to work with them because they didn't have the product we wanted.
