Description of Work: The undersink water filter supply line came apart, drenching me, everything under the kitchen sink, and the floor. I could not completely turn off the cold water faucet under the sink and had to turn the house water off. Ryan arrived within 1/2 hour, installed a proper connector between the 2 diameter sizes of water line, and diagnosed why the undersink faucet failed and replaced a washer.

Description of Work: Kitchen 2" sewer line was blocked and needed to be replaced. It was necessary to demo a portion of our concrete basement floor in order to excavate approximately 20' to the 4" cast iron main. New 2" drain from the stack to the pre-existing connection point on the cast iron main. Additional excavation was done to allow for a stub for new laundry line. Laundry sink and washing machine connection with studor vent was plumbed in. A new 50 gallon standard vent (gas) hot water tank was installed next to the chimney stack and the old electric HWH was drained and removed.

Description of Work: On 16 September, 2011, I called Jim Dandy Plumbing in Seattle to ask them to clear a drain in my basement laundry room. The clerk made an appointment for Thursday September 22. On Thursday September 22nd, a man showed up at 9:20 took a look at the drain and said he would have to call another man to actually clear the drain. At 10:41 am Gary called and said he would try to clear it with his equipment. He worked on this and called me several times to give me a progress report. At 2:30 he left and called me at 2:59 to tell me that he was unable to clear the drain and recommended that we pay for the installation of a new cleanout. He said that Chris Chapman from Jim Dandy would call me with an estimate. Gary charged me $889.66 for his work at $158 per hour which was 4.5 hours plus some small incidentals. He also charged me an appearance fee of $44 which I assume is just for showing up at the worksite. I thought this was pretty expensive for a job that was not completed, but I paid the amount on the bill. Late in the afternoon of September 22nd 2011, Chris Chapman called and gave me an estimated figure of around $3,100 to make a new cleanout and clear the line with a special piece of equipment called a jetter. I gave a verbal ok and scheduled the work for the following day. Friday September 23, two men arrived at 8:10 and installed a new clean out leaving at 11:00 am for a total of 3 hours. At that time, they informed us that the line was clear and that the caregiver could wash clothes. She started a load and discovered that the line was still blocked. I called Jim Dandy and a representative told me that a different crew would come at 1:00 pm to use special equipment to finish the clearing the line. They finally showed up at 3:00 pm, and left at 4:30pm for a total of 1 ½ hours. On Monday September 26th, 2011, the men who made the new clean out showed up at 8:10 am to haul away the debris and clean up the site and remove the protective plastic from the cement patch leaving at around 12:00 pm for a total of 4 hours. The line is clear now and the appearance of the site is satisfactory.

Description of Work: Replacing the sewer line from house, through backyard to where it meets my neighbor's sewer line.

Description of Work: Our drain from the kitchen started backing up in the basement. We called to have them come and clean out the drain. We have had problems every 2-3 years because the pipe is not at the correct slope and sludge builds up in conjunction with tree roots. They listened to my explanation and tried the long snake right away instead of starting short, going longer and then going longest. This saved me money because I knew it would take the long snake from my past experiences so the fact that they listened and didn't try to sell me on another method was a huge positive to me. They also didn't try to sell me on ripping up my whole basement floor or any other very expensive repairs like the last company that I used. Between this company''s and the last company's records, I now know that this type of 2-3 year clean out is just routine maintenance that has been going on for the last 30 years and it doesn't need to the $4000 repairs if I am willing to spend $200 every few years. I've only owned the house for 6 years so knowing that the previous owners were doing this way back when let's me know it isn't getting worse, it is just maintenance.
