Description of Work: A technician diagnosed my water heater problem as a faulty lower heater element but also, for some reason said I should replace the thermostat - total cost about $650! I knew this was totally ridiculous price for the relatively simple task of replacing an element. So, I said, my gosh, how much is a new water heater. Again, he gave a totally ridiculous price of $1200+! This outfit is a ripoff!! | |

Description of Work: They promised to call us if they had someone coming our way to see what we needed and give an estimate. They never called. They wanted to charge about $100 or so just to give an estimate even if they had someone coming to our area for another service call. Expensive just to get an estimate at their convenience, and totally unreliable for followup.

Description of Work: CPI did an estimate to replace my bathroom sink drain and p-trap. Wanted to charge me $500! I called another plumber and they would have charged $95. I then purchased the drain kit for $20 and replaced it myself! I will never trust CPI to do any plumbing for me. Highway robbery!

Description of Work: Repaired two leaking toilets, checked on a third. They arrived in time frame they provided; were personable, explained what they do, their charges, provided senior discount and annual service for future issues with additional discount. They were thorough, explained what was happening and the repair needed and sat down at the end what to look for in case there was an further problems. The two young men who showed up were professional and courteous and I would call them again in

I called, they came out, charged me $70 and gave a ridiculous bid. Should have cost, at most, $100 to fix the problem. Update I bought the parts and fixed it myself for $1
Description of Work: A guy came out to my house, could not have been older than 18, and charged me $70.00 only to give me a $2,200 bid to fix a 12" section of leaking pipe that feeds my pressurized water tank in my garage. He said the tank (which is 12 days old) was ruined without even inspecting it. I guess the 12" long pipe he was going to use to replace the leaking pipe was made out of 24 karat gold incrusted with diamonds! JOKE dont bother with these crooks!

Response from CPI PLUMBING & HEATING
Friday 7/6/2012 CPI Plumbing & Heating responded to the customer'srequest to repair a leak on a recently installed system by another contractor. The customer was informed and agreed to our dispatch fee prior to going out to his residence approx. 80 miles round trip. Following is a statement from the technician(age 30) who was dispatched to the customer's residence. I was sent out on a call Thursday July 5th, 2012 located in Concrete, Wa., for multiple water leaks. I arrived at the residence and Mrs. Sterne showed me an area in a garage where she stated she had recently had another contractor relocate her well pump line, service valve whole house filter, pressure tank and tank tee. The first thing I noticed was that all of the plumbing, fixtures, piping and valves/filter was covered in some sort of aerosol water leak spray. She had stated that the previous contractor did all of this. Second, I recommended that the filter should be properly secured and mounted vertical. All of the plumbing was not properly strapped and supported, putting stress on all joints. There were multiple pales/buckets to collect water from the several leaks. The pressure tank tee was coming out of the press tank at an awkward angle, which was leaking. The connection at the point was so covered in “repair” spray I could not see it. I apologized to Mrs. Sterne for this happening to her and gave her my empathy. I let her know that we could take care of the issues and do the job correctly for her. During our conversation she informed me that another contractor from Angie’s list had done work this week for her and charged them $2,600.00 and refused to come back. I gave her a price of $2,278.54 plus tax, which included a 1yr Club Membership, to replace all of the ruined plumbing and took photos of everything I found. She declined the work and I collected the dispatch fee. Jonathon Yates Brad Tully Service Manager

They did a lot of things. It was a positive experience. They were efficient and they came when they said that they were going to come. They did what they said that they were going to do and they did what I needed them to do. They were pretty consistent.

Their work was great, but I thought that their charges were really high. I was kind of desperate and used them right away. I would probably not use them in the future because of the pricing. I would look for a cheaper provider instead.

CPI came out two (maybe three?) times per our request to answer our questions and to help us decide what kind of heater we wanted before we decided to hire them. The tech, Greg (I think), was very knowledgeable and professional each time and was very helpful. We ultimately decided to go with a tankless in-line water heater to replace our standard water heater. We were able to get the job scheduled exactly when we wanted the appointment. Greg was on time for the installation and worked efficiently and professionally to get the old heater removed and begin installing the new one. He had a minor concern that the heater wasn't running exactly as he expected once the install was complete, so he asked if he could return the next day to check on it and make any necessary adjustments, which was fine by us. He came back the next day as he said he would, made some adjustments and then had to change out pipes under the master bathroom sink in order to allow the circulating pump to have enough water pressure to operate effectively (as I understand it). He noticed that the sink wasn't draining as quickly as it should, so he checked the drain trap and removed a rat-sized clump of hair (left by the previous owners) from the drain. I was very impressed and grateful that he took the initiative to solve a problem that we didn't even notice we had. He cleaned up after both jobs and both times asked us to call if we had any questions or concerns. The water temperature was a little too hot for my preference later that day, so I called Greg to confirm that it was safe to adjust the temperature on the thermostat by the in-line heater. I got the go ahead, so I adjusted the temperature down to 110 degrees, which was perfect. Overall, Greg with CPI did a great job with the installation and the heater and circulating pump are wonderful!! I've had warm water every time I've turned on a shower or faucet which has made this the most comfortable winter ever. I also am very pleased to be saving the gallons of water we used to waste while waiting for the water to heat up enough to get in the shower each day. I would highly recommend CPI Plumbing for their professionalism, knowledge, punctuality, and friendliness and would also highly recommend buying an in-line water heater and a circulating pump! (please forgive any typos!)
Description of Work: CPI installed an in line water heater and circulating pump after removing our old standard water heater. They brought the pipes up to code and had to replace the pipes under the bathroom since in order to handle the requirements of the new circulating pump.

my ididot mother flushed something down the toilet causing the bowl to drain dangerously slow. we chose CPI from the yellow pages and got a speedy, same-day response. problem was, the repair person was uncertain if he could get the object out of the toilet, or how long it might take, so he gave us an estimate of around $79 per hour with no guarantee it could be snaked out, in which case, he may have had to work on it for X-number of hours until he could say for sure. if after X-number of hours, he found that the object coult not be removed, then the option was to purchase a new toilet for $700 plus the additional labor after X-amount of hours it might take to find that it couldnt be removed. it was sort of like placing a bet, but we needed to use the bathroom, so we went ahead and authorized the new toilet. the work was performed quickly, leaving the bathroom in spotless condition. in other words, he did an excellent job of cleaning up, which is sometimes not the case with other contractors. we appreciated the rapid, professional work which was performed, and we would recommend CPI to others as a fair, friendly and excellent plumbing contractor.

Great service and information at the beginning of my new home construction. They were then the most reasonable bid for a very quality heating system so I went with them for both my plumbing and heating needs. I unfortunately had several problems from the beginning with the MUNCHKIN boiler the provided and installed. The fan motors just kept burning out. On about the fourth fan motor, there developed a strained relationship between CPI and myself. We were unable to determine the root of the problem with this boiler failure. In the end, CPI replaced and installed a new boiler, at no cost to me. I am thankful to say we now have a great product performing as advertised, and we will contiue to refer family, friends, and acquantances to CPI.
Description of Work: This contractor designed and installed my radiant floor heating system with high efficiency boiler. They also performed all of the plumbing design and installation for this same home. they have also performed a variety of repairs and installations on a variety of other projects for me.

THEIR IS NO MERIT FOR HIS COMPLAINT, WE HAVE WARRANTIED OR HAD THE FACTORY WARRANTY ALL REPAIRS DONE TO HIS BOILER TO DATE. OTHER THAN SERVICING THE BOILER WHICH WAS $367 NOT OVER $400 & WAS DONE 34 MONTHS AFTER THE BOILER WAS PUT INTO SERVICE, BOILER OPERATION & MAINTENANCE MANUAL & WARRANTY PAPERWORK RECOMMEND BOILER BE SERVICED ANNUALLY TO AVOID ANY EXCLUSIONS IN THE WARRANTY. WE ALSO SENT HIM A LETTER 16 MONTHS AFTER THE BOILER WAS INSTALLED & RECOMMENDED THE SERVICE WHICH HE DENIED. THE CONDENSATE LINE WAS NOT INSTALLED INCORRECTLY AS HE STATES, BUT A DESIGN CHANGE BY THE FACTORY, WHICH WAS NEVER TOLD TO US UNTIL WE HAD THE FACTORY REP TO HIS HOUSE WITH OUR TECHNICIAN. THE REP ALSO FOUND LOOSE FACTORY INSTALLED WIRES, NOT WIRES THAT WERE NOT CONNECTED AS STATED BY HIM. WE HAVE BEEN VERY DUE DILIGENT IN GETTING HIS BOILER RUNNING & WARRANTIED THRU THE FACTORY ANY TIME HE HAS HAD AN ISSUE, EVEN THOUGH HE HAS NEGLECTED TO HAVE IT SERVICED AS RECOMMENDED BY US & THE FACTORY.
