Description of Work: We are a 15 Unit Condo Building. Our crawl space is 2500 sq. Ft. and our attic is 4600 sq. ft. Classic performed the following: Pest removal and control from our attic and crawl spaces. Removal of old pest soiled insulation in the attic and put in fresh new and better energy rated insulation. Install insulation between floor joists in crawlspace. Coordinated with Puget Sound Energy to get us a great rebate. Figured out our ancient ventilation system and connected appropriate vents through the roof.

Description of Work: They did rodent abatement and replace our insulation.

Description of Work: I did use 'Classic Insulation & Pest Control' for re-insulation of my attic; they installed some attic fence and they insulated a new wall.

Description of Work: We had two services, amounting to several visits, from Classic Insulation and Pest Control. The first service was an assessment and rat control effort, using an Angie's List promotional price. (They honored the promotional price even though the promotion's official date had expired.) That service consisted of three visits (I think it was three) by the same pest control inspector, the last in October 2012. I forget the price, but it was low enough that I didn't bother looking for bids. Their office scheduled a pest control inspector to look at signs of rat activity, a few days in the future. The inspector arrived very close to the scheduled time -- close enough that I was impressed. He looked around in our cellar, garage, and attic. The damage was conspicuous in the cellar and garage -- the rats had torn up insulation all along the walls of the cellar, and along part of the garage return-air duct. (Yuck!) He found no sign of rats in the attic, fortunately. The inspector set up traps and searched for signs of how the rats were getting in -- apparently under the bottom of the foundation in the cellar, and from there into the garage. He also gave us directions on how to check the garage trap and advised us that there were enough traps in the cellar that we didn't need to check them. A later visit was equally punctual. The pest control guy checked traps and didn't find any vermin. I think the third visit was on time, but I don't remember specifically. The guy checked traps again, again found no vermin, and gave us an estimate for replacement of insulation damaged by the rats (which were apparently no longer around to do more damage). Our second service was the insulation replacement. We arranged a date in December for the work with the company's office. Although the work was about $880, I didn't seek other bids because I was already working with Classic. Since I didn't check other bids, I'm not sure whether that's a good price, which is why I marked my price rating "N/A" -- nothing to compare it with. Most of the price was for removal of the damaged insulation in the cellar; the balance was for sealing gaps, and for removing and replacing the damaged garage insulation. The invoice didn't include a charge for installing the new cellar insulation or removing droppings and deodorizing the cellar. The two insulation workers (neither the same as the pest control guy) arrived near the end of a two or three hour range; the guys were on time, but hitting a wider time window didn't feel as on-target as arriving within minutes of a specific time. They got the work done pretty quickly -- not just replacing the damaged insulation, but also pouring a couple of globs of concrete into the spots the pest control guy had identified as the places the rats were getting in under the foundation. One thing that was lacking was sweeping up the rat droppings and small scraps of damaged insulation. We had one additional visit from the pest inspector. We found rat droppings in the garage, and worried that it was sign of new rat activity. The inspector would have been able to make it out the day we called about that, but we weren't able to be home to let him in, so it had to wait over a weekend. It turned out that the droppings weren't new; they were just something the insulation crew had missed. The pest guy cleaned them up, adjusted the locations of our traps, and didn't charge for the visit.

Description of Work: We bought this house in July 2011 and noticed after the first snowfall that there were areas of the roof where the snow melted quickly. There were areas of the attic where the insulation was thinner than the rest. We also noticed the recessed lights were not rated for insulation contact, but were covered with insulation, which could cause a fire. There appeared that some type of rodent had/was living in the attic. We called three companies for quotes and chose Classic, the middle quote, based on their description of the work and how they would handle the pest removal. Classic arrived on time and removed the old blown-in insulation, checked the entire attic space and sealed the space from pests. They installed metal chimneys over the can lights to provide fire safety around the lights and returned the following day and installed the insulation to approximately R50.

Description of Work: We had three different services performed for us. We had our attic cleaned out and new insulation put in, we had our crawlspace cleaned out and new insulation put in, and we had a major carpenter ant infestation that they also took care of.

Description of Work: We hired Classic Insulation & Pest control to inspect our home for pests after our home inspector found some droppings in the garage, attic and crawl space before we purchased our home. Classic sent a rep out to inspect and set traps, and then returned a number of times to check the traps and identify whether there were new droppings or evidence of additional activity.

Description of Work: We moved in to this house a year ago and noticed during the winter that the snow on the roof over two areas melted much faster than other areas. I called to have an estimate to remove and replace the old insulation and install shields around recessed lighting, not rated for direct contact with insulation. They also sealed up any holes in the attic where rodents might enter.

Classic Insulation came and cleaned out my attic and crawl space, removing all the damaged insulation caused by the rodents. They sealed all the potential points of entry and made sure all the pipes in the crawlspace were secured and not dragging on the ground. To make certain that the rodents were truly gone, they waited one month before blowing in new insulation and during that time, the pest control specialist came for a couple of visits to check the traps. He was timely, courteous and thorough. I thought that Classic Insulation was up front about everything they were going to do (and did) and there were no surprises. They also showed me what the attic looked like after it was cleaned out and after they blew the new insulation in.

Description of Work: Blew in R49 loose insulation into attic, installed vent baffles, sealed cracks around chimney, removed loose boards and old birds nests. Also installed proper sized bathroom vent pipe adapter.

Description of Work: I just moved into my house and I had real problem with carpenter ants and rodents and so I used Classic Insulation & Pest Control. They patched holes where rodents can enter the house. They did a full termination of carpenter ants. They built a special close door underneath the house. They tightened everything and put out some kind of rodent bait traps.
