I was happy with Arrow Insulation. The guy seemed really knowledgeable and gave me plenty of options. We might use them, but there is some other things we need to do to our attic before doing insulation.

Work was done. Mostly ok. I went down and inspected the crawlspace and fresh plastic was put down, and standard insulation installed well. The vent screens were not done as discussed, but they came back to improve them.
Description of Work: There was a dead rat (family) in the crawlspace when I moved in. The crawspace is hard to access. The deal was to plug up any gaps in the crawspace, put screens on the vents, and swap out old insulation for new. The wanted $60 per month to warranty the work. I did that for a couple of months.

I chose Arrow because their price was 30% lower than the next closest bid. Despite this low price, I didn't feel that they cut any corners to make up for it. They arrived on time, and explained what they were doing. While in the house, they respected my home and did everything they could to avoid making a mess. The exterior of my house is vinyl siding, and they were one of just a couple bidders who were unphased by having to deal with the vinyl. They peeled it back and drilled their holes, and reinstalled the pieces they removed so that you can't tell they did anything. They finished when they said they would, cleaned up any messes they made (including a couple spots that weren't their fault: The prior owners of the house had been clumsy when installing new pipes, leaving jagged holes in the interior wall, allowing cellulose to blow through. Once they noticed that this had happened (it happened twice), they sealed up the jagged holes with spray foam, and cleaned up the mess.
Description of Work: Drill and spray-in cellulose insulation in our 1920's era home. Included insulation in the attic.

They were on time and showed ID to verify who they were and got right to work.
Description of Work: Got an estimate for crawl space clean up. Had 2 other services come out and bid, and Arrow was by far the highest bid. They bid nearly double the other bids and the service level was about the same for each bidder.

We've just purchased an older home, and planning to rewire the whole house. We plan to remove the old insulation, do the rewiring, then put in new insulation. The first company came to give the estimate was professional, costs around $3,000 to remove and put in new insulation. Then, Karl from Arrow came to give the estimate. After a few minutes looking at the attic Karl said what we had was more than enough. There were signs of rodent, but it was in the past, and no recent activities. Yes, it wasn't pretty, but Karl said I can use a garden rake and fluff the blown in insulation to make it nice and neat. I was having a very long days with several contracts coming with estimates on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, and I was overwhelmed with the costs of remodling the house. Karl made my day. One expense that I don't have to deal with. How do you find a company that you can trust among many companies that are out to make money? Karl earned my trust, and I'd recommend the company to family and friends.
Description of Work: None was needed.

I had Arrow insulation come out to give me an estimate on what it would cost to upgrade my home attic insulation. Karl from Arrow insulation came out to give me the estimate. He was on time and very friendly and professional. He told me that my house would qualified for the PUD energy efficiency program. A few days past by and all the paper work was proved by the PUD. Arrow came out to do the job. The crew was about ten minuets late. They went to work to prep the attic the only thing they had to leave to get there tools. I feel that they were not prepare to do the job. They also had to use my tools to do the job. (I have pictures of my saw on the roof in the rain). One of the crew members ask to use my bathroom which was ok but did not flesh the toilet and broke my sliding door to the bathroom. I never did see him after that he had left. The other thing they put there tools on my small flower bed which smash my flower. ( I have pictures of that to). They also did not clean up after. I feel that maybe they did not care about my property. I pick Arrow Insulation because they had great reviews from other customers so I was very surprise about what took place.
Description of Work: Had insulation blown into my house attic. It only had R11 it needed R49. The job require p.u.d standards on in home insulation. Also put in new vents as well to allow air flow.

The first time they had the work order wrong. The second time the estimate itself was incorrect. The third time they actually did do the work but it wasn’t done correctly. The forth visit the owner had to get involved and send out another crew to redo it.

Response from Arrow Insulation
This is a tough one for us because we try and make sure that each and every customer we work with is completely satisfied. Unfortunately, in this particular case - we could not eliminate taxes on an invoice which may have caused some frustration. We work and provide services in WA state which requires us to pay and collect taxes. As a licensed and bonded company it is important to follow strict guidelines and this includes taxes. In addition, we have to follow strict guidelines when installing insulation. Our work was completed properly the first time - so I'm not sure why the customer mentioned we had to return to redo work. We strive to make sure that each one of our clients' needs and expectations are resolved. Please rest assured that Arrow Insulation will do whatever is necessary to provide quality, value, and professional service to our customers…every time.

Arrow sent two people out to do the insulation work within a week. It took a couple of hours to do the preparation, blow in the insulation and clean up afterwards. We have a two story house that sits back a little from the street but their equipment reached our attic with no problem. When they were finished and had closed the access to the attic they vacuumed the area our stairway and the second floor landing. Overall it was an quick and easy experience.
Description of Work: Our home is over 100 years old. We had the old knob and tube wiring removed from the attic and we needed to have additional insulation added. There was some insulation that had been added 30 years ago but it had settled and had been moved around by the person who did the electrical work. We called Arrow and they had someone come out within a few days to give us an estimate. He answered all of our questions and we felt comfortable with the estimate.

They were able to schedule the estimate quickly and Dave was prompt and polite when he arrived. He told me that they'd have to insulate from inside because we had steel siding. (And he nicely complimented its condition.) He explained the insulating process, what we'd have to do to prepare for it, and that we'd need to have an electrician confirm that the old knob and tube wiring wouldn't become overheated by the insulation in the walls. He was personable and seemed to know what he was talking about. He also said they'd be able to do the work within the next week or so. He sent the bid as promised. Unfortunately, it turned out to be about $400 higher than the other bid (from another A-rated Angie's List provider) so we ended up not going with Arrow.
Description of Work: We had Arrow give us a bid on insulating the walls and the crawlspace of our old (1926) house. We didn't use them because the bid was higher than their competitors but if it weren't for that, we would have used them.

I saw they had good feedback on Angie's List and they were able to come out quickly. They were very responsive, the guy spent a lot of time here taking a look at what I needed to have done and he drilled a few holes in inconspicuous spots to see what insulation already existed in the walls. He was very thorough in explaining everything he was doing. They showed up when they said they were going to, they might have even shown up early. They borrowed a couple of tools and a ladder to do a couple of things but other than that they were fine.

We had our house fully insulated. They did pretty much everything. We had no insulation in the older house; so we had eco friendly insulation installed in all the walls, in roof space and some crawl spaces and in different vents. We got quotes done by two different companies and we really liked Arrow?s reputation. We enjoyed talking with the people who worked with them. They were really responsive to our concerns and they were really quick to set up an appointment. They were professional. When they actually did work, they got it done in the amount of time that they said they would. We have been happy with it so far. Our house is not as cold as it was before. We did it primarily as an energy saving measure because it is a new house for us and we took advantage of some of the energy credits that were being offered by the Federal Government and it has been really worthwhile. I felt like they were priced higher than their competitors but my husband went with them because they have better overall service and I really could not say something because I don?t have much experience with insulation work. They were sometimes a little bit late but they always showed up and did the job. We would use them again in the future.

The estimate was swift and efficient, they stuck to their quoted price, no surprises. It was nice that they are PSE certified so we were able to take advantage of the rebate. We had another quote which was lower, before the rebate, but after the rebate Arrow's price was the best. Two fellas showed up on time with a truck and they did a fine job of laying down plastic to keep the mess to a minimum. There was some blow over in the garage, but it's barely worth mentioning. They were efficient and professional and there are no more cold toes in our children's rooms :)
Description of Work: We had them pump insulation into the ceiling of our garage/floor of our guest rooms as the cold would seep in from the garage which had minimal insulation.

I got 3 bids for a crawlspace reinsulation job. Arrow was by far the cheapest, 50% lower. I checked on Angie's to see if they had any bad reviews but they looked good. They were here on time, worked late to get the job done in one day, and before they left sent me down to check on their work which was excellent. It is a messy job and they tried to contain the insulation dust but it was coming up through the floor heating ducts. Not thier fault and they cleaned up after themselves. I have no complaints and am happy with the job.

Arrow was one of three insulation companies that we asked to provide an estimate on a significant remodel project involving the addition of approximately 800 square feet. Not only was their estimate competitive but we appreciated the candidness of the salesmen when we were discussing the more expensive option of foam spray in lieu of batt insulation. They were extremely responsive. Most impressive was when we realized that certain areas had not been insulated as we had planned, no questions asked, they sent their installation team back to the house to complete the job. All within the original bid. They even left additional insulation at no extra cost. We have additional insulation projects and will not hesitate to use Arrow again.
Description of Work: This was a remodel project involving new construction of a master suite (bedroom, bath, new office) and an extension of a dining room (approximately 800 sq. feet). We needed insulation for interior and exterior walls, high cement foundation and soundproofing of certain locations. We had originally thought of using foam spray insulation for a majority of the exterior walls but were reasonably dissuaded by the salesman based on a candid cost-benefit discussion. He could have easily promoted the more expensive option. Ultimately, we went with standard batt insulation, fiber board on the cement, and rock wall for sound proofing.

They were great and I liked them. They were very friendly, very educational, and took pictures. They were really good and very thorough. They only gave me the one quote which was for the crawlspace. They were expensive so I probably would not use them in the future, but they were really good. Their quote was higher than all the quotes I got. I had nothing against them. It was just their pricing.

I'm not the easiest guy to impress and I am usually happy if a contractor or service provider meets my expectations. To exceed my expectations takes a bit more. I didn't know very much about insulation and couldn't see very well where they were working. There were three crews (6 or 7 guys) who were a little late in arriving but who all seemed to work very hard all day without almost no breaks until the job was done. Believe me this is a "dirty job". Crawling around under the house with very little room and and a lot of dirt and who knows what. They explained to me exactly what they were doing and seem fine with me noseing around trying to understand what was happening. By the end of the day (about 6 pm) I was very satisfied with what I saw, what I learned, the materials they used and overall they met my expectations. Then they did something that made me conclude that they had exceeded my expectations. 20 minutes after they had all cleaned up and left there was a knock on my door. It was the crawl space guys. They explained to me that in talking to one of the other guys they realized that they had forgotten to do one thing and would I mind if they came back in and finished it. Of course I say sure. So the three of them got into their already filthy work clothes and opened up the crawl space and took a bunch of additional material and went back down. It took them a half an hour. They apologized and were on their way. What was so impressive about this was that they could have very easily just said, "Hey, they guy has no clue we didn't do this so let's just forget it and go home. We've had a long day." Even our boss won't know." But they didn't. Instead they did the right thing and scored a lot of points with me for integrity and honesty. Guys like that you have to give the highest recommendation too.
