Description of Work: Evan was booked out at least 5 weeks, but squeezed me in to fix a dimmer switch on a prominent light that was driving me nuts with it's bright intensity. I hoped to get it done before Christmas, and he made it happen. He'll be back next month for a longer list of electrical needs, but for now, I appreciate him tremendously. I am so happy I found him on Angie's List and will definitely recommend.

Description of Work: Checked out my 'shorted' gfci circuit. (In the process I learned something new about using a continuity checker... thanks) He also determined that an outside line to my yard was hot. |Very informative and helpful service. At $75 / hr seemed reasonable but I have to wait to be billed so I don't know what the total is going to be.

Description of Work: I have a rental home. My renters were not able to use more than one appliance at a time in the kitchen without tripping the breaker. Evan came in and fixed that problem. The process went smoothly from start to finish.

+ -1 moreIt went very well. They responded within an hour of the event. Were very courteous in explaining what they were doing in troubleshooting the issue. It was a surprise that the back deck wiring had been made from an outlet in the laundry room. It also turns out that there was additional wiring that ran off of this circuit. Once he found an unaccounted for wire, he traced it to the back deck, and discovered the problem. If it had not been for the nail in the wiring, things would have continued to run fine. To correct the issue required coming up to current codes, meaning more expense than just fixing the one wire. I would recommend this company to anyone. They were very professional, and knew their vocation. Safety was of concern to the electrician, who explained that he could not leave things as they were, that he was required to complete the repair to current code.
Description of Work: The Electrician had to diagnose a loss of power to several outlets in the home. It turns out that the roofing company, who I will be rating once my full experience with payment, etc, is completed will be reported on as well. The roofing company had put a nail through an electrical line on the deck, causing a short. The electrician did not know that this was a possibility, and found it through carefully evaluating the wiring. The home was built in the 1960's, and had previous owners who had rewired portions of the home, not following good practices. Once the problem had been discovered, it required correcting all of the circuits to current code. The roofing company said that they would pay for the repairs. I shall see if this occurs before reporting on my experience with them.

+ -1 moreWe have used Ackermann before. The residential electrician is excellent. He is personable, professional and does a good job explaining everything if you ask. He showed up when he was supposed to and completed our list of things to be accomplished in a reasonable length of time.
Description of Work: Installed new lights on the exterior of the house, installed new fixture in kitchen, changed switches in three places in the house, rewired the electrical box where the previous owner had made connections that did not meet code, did some troubleshooting for three issues we were having with lights not working or burning out too quickly, installed a new GFI in the garage.
