Overall the project went very well, and we are extremely happy with the result. Mike was very easy to work with and did a beautiful job despite an installation situation involving a very tight fit. We especially appreciate how Mike was able to quickly source the particular model Kohler sink we wanted, at a competitive price, which kept our kitchen remodel project on schedule. We look forward to working with him again when we're ready to remodel some bathrooms next year.
Description of Work: As part of a kitchen remodel, GPS Plumbing supplied a new Kohler cast iron sink, and installed the sink, a Grohe faucet and soap dispenser, and an ISE disposal.

Mike showed up promptly to look at job to get info to provide estimate. He is very easy going and didn't make me feel my job(s) were too small. After he left I had to prompt a little bit a week later to get the written estimate, but once I did the estimate arrived promptly. Based on good reviews found here and his easy going, but very knowledgable, manner I went with GPS Plumbing. He did not go under the house during the walk through so we were not sure the real status of the previous work under there. Not knowing what he was going to find he agreed that if one of the jobs were to cost more, I would cancel the other parts since they weren't a priority. We scheduled the work well in adavance to allow me to be home in case something came up. The only thing that happened was the realization that there wasn't a master shut off and I had to call PUD to come turn off water, which would have costed about $50 from PUD but since Mike was going to install a master shut off, the fee was waived. Mike, and another worker (I don't remember his name) were quick, effecient, and very respectfull of the house and my pets. They kept the gate closed and worked around the dog and cats. Everything seems to be in good repair and working well. For this first time, I was able to throw away those crappy blue ice trays and use the ice maker in the freezer I bought 6 years ago. I would absolutely give Mike a call for any new projects.
Description of Work: 1) Removal of old faucet improperly installed (previous owner) through crawl space access and installed a frost free lawn hydrant.2) Removal of again improperly installed old water line for fridge/freezer and installed a proper water hookup. 3) Tapped cold water line of hot water heater in the garage in order to install an outside faucet on side of house, where previously there was not one and 4) installed a main shut off valve that surprisingly wasn't anywhere to be found.

I found them from Angie's List and they have an immense support from the members. I called them at once and described the problem. I also searched for other plumbers but they were the only ones who returned my call. The owner sent somebody out after an hour. They were very fast in completing the job. They even said that they don't want their customers to wait. They were very professional and showed up on a brand new van. The price is incredibly amazing. They are our plumbers for life.
Description of Work: I used the plumbing service of GPS Plumbing Inc. last month. They excavated a four foot hole and dig underneath the concrete to replace the pipes of the leaking water.

this is the second time I've used GPS Plumbing. I was first introduced to Mike through my granite guy.. This time we had an emergancy repair at 5:00 on a Saturday night. My husband had attempted to turn on our irrigation system by forcing the value connect to the water main and broke it, which required us to shut off the main to our house. While Mike was driving out to the house my husband dug out the pipes, so that he could have better access to the pipes. Mike came out within the hour and capped of the line, so we'd have running water. GPS Plumbing is obviously interested in building strong lasting relationships with its customers and in the future GPS Plumbing/Mike will be the first company I call for my plumbing needs. He not only provides curtious timely service it does it at an affordable rate.
Description of Work: My irrigation systems main shut off was compromised at 5:00 on a Saturday night, which required the main to my house to be shut off . I need a plumber to come out and cap the line in order to get my water turned on to the house.

Mike is a super nice guy and does a great job. It's hard to find plumbers who call you back and show up when they say they will - mike does all of that. It's eay to recommend him because he does good quality work.

Mike was great - answered my call early in the morning and was on-site in about an hour and a half, as promised over the phone. He did an inspection of the problem, gave us an estimate and then fixed the problem, charging exactly what he quoted. But I really appreciated the other touches - he was careful to cut a small hole in the drywall and access the leaking pipe from the direction that minimized damage we'd have to repair later. When I asked questions during and after the repair about the problem and the new pipe pieces he put in, I never felt rushed, talked down to or like I was taking up too much of his time. He and his helper were both careful not to get the house dirty coming in and out. And they were efficient, using technology whenever possible to speed the solution along and avoid printing paper receipts. Yeah! We have actually found a plumber who does a great job, charges a fair price and is a pleasure to work with. Thanks!
Description of Work: We had a small leak from a water supply pipe in the wall. We were anxious to get it fixed quickly to avoid any serious damage to surrounding structures and floor coverings. We tried the yellow pages but just weren't happy with the options, so we quickly got on to Angie's List and found GPS Plumbing. GPS plumbing came in quickly, found the leak, removed the small section of wall and pipe and put in new pipe and connectors to correct the problem.

I discovered that my hot water heater was leaking. I called GPS based on their good reviews, and received a call back within 15 minutes. A half hour later, one of the plumbers was out and evaluating the situation. He not only replaced the hot water heater, he also spent time updating the existing plumbing leading to the hot water tank, installed a new shut-off valve for the heater, and went under the house and ripped out sub-standard plumbing and installed new there, as well. The project ended up taking longer than either of us imagined, but Evan worked very hard to get it all done properly. He was polite, professional, and very happy to explain the steps he took to update and install the new tank. I am very pleased with the service of both Evan and the company as a whole, and will absolutely use them for all future plumbing projects.

Mike was on-time and reviewed the situation. We had to utilize a second drain line and install new fittings, locate the water filter system and he did a great job organizing the fixtures, as we were concerned we were going to loose our recycling station under the sink.Mike was very professional and he made sure we were fully satisfied.

As I related above it went exactly as expected. The price was as quoted plus one extra that we requested. Very profesional installation.
Description of Work: We had a hot water tank failure that we found Apr 29th late in the evening. The tank was leaking and had leaked into the floor on the other side of the wall. I went to shut it off and found there was no shut off valve on the hot water tank. I was forced to shut off the water to the house. I contacted GPS plumbing the morning of the 30th and talked with Mike. He said he would try to rearrange things to work me in and call me back. He called back within a hour gave me a estimate and told me one of his plumbers would be out in 2 hours. They were here exactly when they said they would be and went to work. This is a manufactured home and the plumbing for the hot water tank was marginal, to say the least. Mike came by and brought a pan that we asked for and helped Evan with the re plumbing and installation. When finished It looked like it should have in the first place. A very profesional installation. The estimate was only increased by the pan that we requested, so it was exactly as estimated. Thanks Mike, Evan and GPS plumbing.

After checking out the ratings for GPS Plumbing on Angie's List, I decided to call them to replace a sump pump that stopped working, in addition to giving me an estimate for other plumbing work around the house. On Wednesday they agreed to meet me at my house on Friday afternoon of the same week at 3:00PM. I took the afternoon off from work and got home a little before 3:00; after waiting for over 30 minutes, I gave them a call and asked if I had the wrong time--I spoke to the same person who scheduled the appointment--he had no idea about it, and told me that there had been a crazy day with some other jobs. Major disappointment! However, on the following Monday they called me and apologized for the fumble. Mike Grady, I believe the owner, offered to replace my sump pump at no charge. I was more than impressed, but didn't accept the offer, only the apologies. He agreed to meet the next day, was prompt, extremely professional, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. He detailed the work approximate cost and came back a couple days later with a new pump. He drained the crawl space, replaced the old pump, cleaned the space, and was done in no time. What a wonderful job he did. I have asked Mike to look at other work I need done around the house and he gave a clear idea of what needs to be done quoted me a very competitive price. I would recommend GPS Plumbing to anyone: family, friends, neighbors... anyone! A+++

After moving into our new home in July, we decided to have our bathrooms renovated. We had new granite installed by StonePro's. We also were going to need new fixtures and sinks installed and worked with GPS Plumbing. They did a fantastic job and were very helpful. We had purchased our own sink, which had some challenges with the stopper. They found a solution and it is now on order. They also picked up stoppers for my other two sinks and they match perfectly with the fixtures. We are very happy with the results and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Very good service!!!

My husband and I moved into a newly rennovated house a few months back and had one annoying plumbing problem -- the water from the bathtub faucet ran rusty for the first few seconds each time you opened the tap. The problem was nowhere else in the house. Brand new remodel - new water tank - etc. I called a number of different plumbers, all of whom offered elaborate explanations as to what the problem might be with costs starting at $700 and heading upwards from there. When I spoke to Mike from GPS Plumbing he listened carefully, asked great questions, reflected and then very quickly offered his diagnosis of the problem along with an estimate that was much more reasonable (hundreds of dollars less). I booked an appointment. He called the day before the appointment to reconfirm. He and his colleague showed up promptly. They were polite, pleasant, worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up after their work! Problem took half an hour to repair and ended up being a gas pipe that had been used as part of the plumbing. The whole experience was amazing and I will definitely use them again!

I had a toilet that rocked and then developed a small leak. Using Angie's List, I selected GPS on the basis of their reports, phoned for assistance, and we agreed upon a phone hook up the next afternoon. They phoned right on time the next day and said their schedule permitted an immediate visit. The workman arrived and we discussed the problem. He said it would be a certain price, UNLESS the flange itself was bad, in which case it could be somewhat more. As the work progressed, he discovered the flange had never been bolted to the subflooring, and normal use had separated the flange from the cast iron soil pipe below causing both the leak at floor level and a small leak in the crawlspace. I authorized the (more expensive) work and he proceeded. He managed to reset the flange on the cast iron, installed numerous screws to hold it firmly, set in new wax (double wax, since new tile flooring had been installed and the toilet was somewhat elevated), reinstalled the toilet, and caulked the base of the toilet. A no kidding beautiful job start to finish. He checked everything carefully and was under the house 4 different times because of my many questions about not only the toilet but the rest of the system. He was here three hours. Given the quality of the work, I'm pretty sure I got a bargain and will use GPS in the future.

Mike was very professional and knowlegable with our situation. He was very clear as to what needed to be done, cost of the repair and made sure everything was clean and in working order prior to leaving our house. I really like that his repair estimate was very reasonable and covered the entire job rather than charging by the hour. My husband and I are very pleased with his work and if needed, will definitely use his services again. We have already recommended him to our friends in case they are ever in need of a plumber.
Description of Work: Mike (GPS Plumbing Owner) had to cut out a portion of my downstaris ceiling in order to gain access to the upstairs shower plumbing that was leaking and causing the downstairs ceiling to bubble and discolor.. Mike repaired the leaking shower by replacing the plastic fittings with brass. In addition, since the original builders installed with shower without securing it underneath with either concrete or sand, Mike was able to inject cement into the open spaces under the base of the shower stall to prevent it fom flexing and leaking again.

We discovered water leaking in a downstairs closet of a rental property we own--the tenant was moving out and we had one week before the new tenants were to move in. The closet was just below an old 1950s remodeled bathroom. Mold had already started growing, so it was obviously a longer-term issue. To top it off, we were scheduled to leave on vacation the very next day. Despite his booked schedule, Mike understood it was an "emergency" and came out and evaluated the issues that very evening. He showed us the damage and explained that the upstairs tub/shower and the surrounding drywall in the bathroom and closet etc. needed to be replaced. Mike showed us where the grout between all the tiles in the tub surround had decayed and water was just pouring into the walls. Mike recommended a contractor to help with the non-plumbing issues as we were headed out of town the next day. Within one week, while we were on vacation, Mike coordinated with the contractor to completely remodel our bathroom, fitting in our job in the afternoons and evenings even with his packed schedule. As we were out of town for the whole week, he was great at communicating their progress and letting us know when we had to make decisions--on fixtures etc. He also made recommendations on these, which was so helpful, and we followed his recommendations completely. The end product was absolutely beautiful--better than we could have imagined! Mike has done work for us in our own residence as well and we've always been extremely satisfied. Not only is he a great plumber, he's a really nice guy. He explains things thoroughly, understands and works effectively within budgets and really feels for his customers, often working overtime to help them out. I just hope he got to take some time off after fitting in our project!! Mike and GPS plumbing is the only plumber we will ever use!!
Description of Work: Mike, of GPS plumbing, evaluated our leaking plumbing issue, recommended a contractor to help with non-plumbing work, and worked with the contractor to remodel our bathroom--from taking out the old bathroom tub/shower and surround and vanity etc. to installing a new one with all new plumbing. He also reset the toilet and changed the valve that was also discovered to be leaking very slightly. He did this all within 1 week, despite his fully booked schedule, while we were on vacation!?!

The entire experience from beginning to end was great. I called Mike to get a quote for the installation of a two handle valve for our shower. The quote was satisfactory and I put him in contact with our other contractor to schedule the service. Mike did question our choice of the two handled valve because it was not pressure balanced (which basically means that it prevents water use in other places in the house from affecting the water temperature in the shower). Essentially I had a decision to make...use the two handles valve that we loved or "settle" for something less aesthetically pleasing to get the pressure balance. My wife and I had pretty much decided to move forward with the two handle valve and live with the consequence of it not being pressure balanced when Mike called me to tell me that he had done some research and found an in-line pressure balancing valve that would allow us to use the valve we wanted and get the benefits of a pressure balanced valve. Again, the additional price was satisfactory so we told him to do it. Mike stopped by the night before (after making sure it was okay) to take a look at the job to make sure that he knew what to expect for the following day's work. When he showed up the next day for work, he was ready to go. He was there for an hour and a half or so and did a great job. On top of just doing the work requested, we talked about a solution to another problem that I had and was very helpful. Additionally, a couple of weeks later I contacted Mike about hooking up the drains for our two new sinks. In the end, I decided to do that work myself but Mike was very helpful in answering a couple questions that I had. Overall, great experience and I will not hesitate to call Mike and GPS the next time I have a need for a plumber.

Got an estimate a few month earlier from Mike to replace a water line that was on it's second temporary repair in the same location. Thought I had a neighbor kid that was going to do the digging but he got a "good" job so I went back to GPS. Mike stuck with the original estimate. They were on time and professional. All the routing was done with a boring machine leaving the yard in good shap and getting around the problem of a terrace in the yard. I'm happy with the results. Would definitely use GPS again.

I searched, for over a year, for a qualified plumbing place that wouldn't rip me off. I had a bad experience in the past with another company that re-plumbed my basement before. I had spoken to Mike at GPS plumbing over a year ago, and decided not to work with him because I felt he was too expensive. He doesn't do time and material. It was only after several more referrals from other folks that I trust that I revisited them. I am glad I did. GPS plumbing is seemingly unique. I now understand why they do what they do. When Mike and Evan come out to give you a bid, those are also the guys that are going to do the work. You don't get a nice shiney sales guy that comes out and collects data for the bid, followed by a switcheroo: A plumber that is so old that he actually saw plumbing invented is not going to roll up with a kid that is still wet behind the ears to do all the work. Yes, with age comes experience, but sending someone too old to do anything but take a nap with someone else so inexperienced they don't know which end of a wrench is up is *not* what you most likely paid for. With GPS, Mike and Evan are going to do your plumbing. At least at the time of this writing, there is no one else - just these two guys. These guys are good, and you are always working with them. They answer their phone, they care if you are not happy about something - they will go out of their way to please you. They don't rush, and they aren't concerned with seeing how many jobs they can jam in one day to maximize profit. They care about their business. This is why they cannot charge hourly - they are always working for all their clients, even if they might not be there right now. My experience was too long to document. Mike and Evan did everything we needed. They did it promptly. When something was important, they went out of their way to make sure it happened on time. When we needed a tub for our guest bath because we had visitors coming, they called and made certain the tub manufacturer rushed the delivery. When something was overlooked (hard to avoid on this much work), they rushed back over to make it right. I *never* felt like they were trying to save money or do something less expensively to increase their profit from the job. They take into account small details, like taking the time to run their plumbing to maximize my ceiling space. I thought for certain we would need to lower the ceiling to conceal pipes - but with their extra effort, all I have are a couple tiny soffits in the corner of the ceiling. After a years search, I am happy to have found someone trustworthy. I'm happy to recommend GPS plumbing to anyone in need.
