Description of Work: found out y water heater was leaking Sunday morning and worried about it bursting and flooding my basement. luckily I found GPS on Angies List. left a message around noon, hoping I would be one of the first in line for Monday call backs. was very surprised to get a cal back from Mike within 10 minutes (on father's day no less!). not only did he promise to stop by Monday morning, but also reminded me to shut off the power ant the electric panel ( I had already shut off the water vlv, but totally forgot about the pwr). Mike actually showed up early for the appt, discussed options and we decided what would be done . he came back in the afternoon, upgraded my connections, and cleaned up the area perfectly. Will probably hire him for some other plumbing projects I need done.

GPS Plumbing was one of many sub-contractors on a large renovation project at our house. We added a master suite and created a second floor for our 63 year old home. It was a challenging project as most remodels are, but particularly because we chose to stay in our house during the construction. We moved ourselves and our pets down to our basement where quite a bit of the plumbing work took place. Mike and Evan as well as being professional, timely and fairly priced were a breath of fresh air amongst the chaos. GPS left our space clean after completing grimy plumbing work in our living space. Mike communicated in a timely manner and explained each step and the costs involved along the way. There were no surprises. We have a dog and 3 cats that we were concerned about during the construction. GPS listened to these sometimes over anxious concerns and respected them. We cannot put a price on this aspect of their work, it was invaluable to us
Description of Work: We added a master suite to our house. Mike did the plumbing for the new master bath as well as changing out all of our old pipes, sewage lines and water heater for the original part of 60 plus year old house.

The work went very well, beginning from the day Mike first arrived to provide an estimate. He is very professional, patient with questions, and his work is first class. I had my doubts about the drain as drywall was removed (by another party), but relaxed when Mike gave thumbs up. GPS Plumbing is who I will turn to in the future. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: I needed two things done in my shop: a gas line and plumbing for a sink. The gas line involved teeing off the main line, going through a wall, and terminating after about 10 or so feet. The plumbing was fairly involved because there is no drain access in the concrete floor. Both water and drain access had to go into the ceiling, and the drain pipe run was a fair amount of work. The job included installation of a Zoeller pump under the sink.

We needed a utility sink in a specific location in our garage. We called GPS for a bid and they explained what to expect (the drywall and plywood would have to be removed to access the pipes and we would have to call a drywall person to repair it.) Their work was absolutly excellent; they were even able to salvage and replace most of the drywall and plywood that had to be removed to access the pipes. That was an awesome benefit - and saved us money. They were always prompt, polite and professional. Mike and his co-worker were very friendly; it was a real pleasure to work with them. This is the second time we have used them and will absolutely use them again.

Mike of GPS was totally responsive. GPS was the only plumbing firm to respond from five solicitations from Angie's list of firms in and around the Monroe area. Mike gave a detailed bid and completed the work within a week. He then went the extra step to follow through on the city permit and was on site when the backflow device was tested and signed off. The work is really a piece of art. I would recommend GPS Plumbing to anyone desiring a quality job at a reasonable price.

We got a couple of estimates, and GFS was quick to respond, and was able to do the estimate over email with a few pictures that I took of the work, and a good description of what I needed done. The final price was exactly the same as the estimate. My wife actually met with them when they did the work, but they were very professionall, arrived on time, and everything works great. The other estimate we had gotten was twice the GFS amount, so we were very pleased overall.

I am rearranging the washing machine and dryer setup in the laundry room. The job will require opening up walls, moving pipes, gas, and vent, electrical work and then building up a new wall. Mike and his associate were very prompt at the scheduled meeting and so obviously knew exactly what they were talking about. I had other bids from guys who have been in the business for 25-30 years and GPS was right on par in their expertise and more so in their professionalism. I decided not to go with their bid--though the $734 was one of the most reasonable bids I got--because I was able to find someone who could do all the plumbing and carpentry work without having to organize subs.
Description of Work: GPS came out to bid on moving the pipes/gas in the laundry room to accommodate rearrangement of the w/d and utility sink.

For our master bath remodel, we needed a plumber who could do it all - add new gas lines and install a tankless water heater in addition to plumbing a bathroom. I found GPS Plumbing and Mike Grady on Angie's List. I checked his website and saw that he did gas pipes (not all plumbers do) and contacted him. He came by the next day and took the time to do a thorough inspection of the site and the plans. He checked out the existing plumbing in the crawl space under the master bath, the existing gas piping, and the location of where the outside venting for tankless water heater would go to make sure it would pass all the distance and height requirements. I was impressed with his thoroughness - it assured me that his quote, which I received a few days later, would account for all the work needed. (Other plumbers who came by to give us quotes either never provided a quote at all or gave us quotes that didn't include installing the gas lines and/or the tankless water heater installation even though they had been told from the start that they were plumbing requirements.) Note: Since I was the designer and general contractor, I made sure to verify with him before work started my list of required tasks with the tasks his estimate included so he could make any adjustments- thus avoiding any "surprises" when the bill came. Mike and his apprentice started working on schedule and coordinated work times with the framers since so the new walls, tub cabinet, and shower were all built out with the roughed-in plumbing in a timely manner. Their work was great and they cleaned up the site at the end of every day - something many subs neglect. They were able to finish and pass both gas and plumbing inspection on time so that the electrician could start his work on schedule. Once the sheetrock was up and painted, Mike was back to install the tankless water heater. (He had actually stopped by the week before to measure the blocking before it was sheetrocked over so he knew exactly where he would place it.) The installation went flawlessly and the old electric tank was emptied and removed. The tankless water heater worked GREAT from the moment Mike plugged it in and pushed the On button. (Plus it takes up very little space - it's in a built-in wardrobe cabinet. No more separate closet needed!) I can't say enough good about Mike and GPS Plumbing. I needed someone who could do it all and I feel like the luckiest home remodeler in the world because I found Mike. BTW Mike is so good that my framing contractor, who is also a general contractor, is now using GPS Plumbing on all of his jobs.
Description of Work: - Plumbing rough-in for major remodel of a large, upscale master bath. - For minor kitchen upgrade, ran a new water line to kitchen for a new pot filler faucet over the stove and re-rerouted the water pipes to the kitchen sink faucet so get hot water faster. - Added a new gas line for a new gas tankless hot water heater in the master bath and for a new gas range in the kitchen. This required increasing the size of the existing gas piping for our gas furnace, the only gas appliance we had, which was at the other end of the house and extending gas piping to the master bath on the first floor and then up to the kitchen on second floor above the bath. - After we did extensive research on tankless water heaters and narrowed our choices down, he helped us in making our final decision (Some plumbers will only install one brand and require that the homeowner purchase it through them for list price. We were able to supply our own water heater which we purchased wholesale online). - Installed a Noritz tankless gas hot water heater on the master bath wall to replace an electric tank water heater that had been in a closet in the master bath. - Passed both plumbing and gas inspections without any problems.

The entire experience was great, overall. They got right to work and offered the copper assembly, which is what we had currently in place, but they recommended the frost resistant hose assembly, which they advised is the current standard being used in newer homes and re-fits. As our rear spiggot had expanded, last winter, due to freezing - we opted for the newer frost resistant assembly on both the front and rear of the house.
Description of Work: Replaced 2 outside spiggots - one which had been damagedlast winter. They had to go into the crawlspace to access one of the spiggot assemblies - both new spiggots are high quality with built in pressure flow/regulators. They further counseled me on how to best use them and even advised that the rear spiggot (Which had been damaged) could be esily redirected, using the same assembly, when we opt to repair our deck (Look for another future report) next spring/summer - Mike (GPS Plumbing) offered to come back out, at that time.

GPS was awesome. Prompt response - we had a bad water main leak and Mike got out as soon as he could to provide a bid and worked with us to find a spot on the schedule to fix us up ASAP. They were very professional, fast working, very careful to avoid unnecessarily damaging the yard, helpful in pointing out potential problems with hooking to the existing piping, and had the entire project finished in one day. The ultimate test, unless I was there to watch them do it, I would not have been able to tell they'd been there, down to being careful to spread the bark back over the beds when they finished burying the line. I won't be calling any other plumbers for future needs. Thanks GPS.

This was the 4th time we've dealt with a break in our waterline over the past couple of years and each was an exhaustive process to find and repair. My husband did the work in the past but at 80 years of age, each was more daunting than the last. I looked into and joined Angie's List and 'found' GPS Plumbing. Owner Mike returned my initial call within minutes and it was really a great experience from start to finish. He was at our house before the day was over and we determined a new waterline was the way to go. Before we were even up the following morning the individual utilities (gas, electric, cable) had been marked. Mike and Evan showed up around 12:30 p.m. and didn't stop working until the job was completed by about 6 p.m. A new water line had been installed with the help of a "ditch witch" and its operators, our grounds were barely disturbed with a 100 foot installation. These tradesmen defied the common trend of what we see today. They came promptly as they said they would, were affable, very polite, neatly presentable and were right on target on when the job should be completed. They get our highest praise and we would not hesitate to recommend or use GPS Plumbing again.

I called GPS for two reasons. 1st, I live in a town house and have no exterior water outlet. I wanted them to add an outlet in the garage so I don't have to use my hot water heater spigot to water plants, wash the car, etc. 2nd. My dishwasher appeared to be backing up somehow: water came out of what I thought was an air exhaust on the top of my sink. I spoke with Mike, he was able to schedule an appointment within 2 days (to meet my schedule) and in the evening so I didn't have to leave work early. When he arrived, he looked in the garage and was quickly able to understand what I wanted and gave me an estimate to do the work. Then we looked at the dishwasher. We spent about 1/2 hour running the dishwasher to investigate the leak. It was decided that it wasn't a fixable problem; Mike did not charge me. I decided to go ahead with the faucet in the garage. They were ready to go right then and there, which was fantastic. They completed the work within another 1/2 hour. Overall, it was quick and easy. I'll definitely use GPS again.

I called Mike and left a voicemail on Tuesday. He called back pretty quick and we tenatively scheduled him to come out Saturday. We agreed that we would talk on Friday to confirm. I called him on Friday afternoon and he agreed to come out between 10:00 and 10:30 AM on Saturday, as we originally planned. Around 10:35 on Saturday he called and said that he could not make it because some "emergencies" came up. He offered to come out the next Tuesday but I declined. It was memorial day weekend and we were looking forward to using the new BBQ.

Based on an excellent rating, I thought I would try these guys out, when I had a leak in my hot water tank. I called in the morning and they said they would be able to come out the same day, since I lived in the area. When I hadn't heard from them at lunchtime, I needed to go out, so I called again and they left another job, to come over for a few minutes and see what was needed. They told me the tank was leaking and it'd need to be replaced (turned out that the pressure relief thingy was actually broken). I asked about a more expensive instant hot water system and they gave me great unbiased advice, even though I'm sure they would have made a lot more money to sell me this system. I realized I didn't need it and so told them to just replace the same system. They came back later that afternoon and did replaced the entire system and had it up and working by 6pm, so we had hot water again that night. They were friendly and courteous and I highly recommend their service. Only minor item was, they were about $100 over their initial quote; but I think it was because the heating system was a little better than the one he had originally quoted me on.

I have never seen contractors be on time as consistently as they were. They were there when they said they would be. They did what they said they were going to do in the time they said it was going to take to get done. They called and gave updates. They fixed the initial problem and we could have squeaked by but they were able to determine that a larger problem with the old galvanized pipe existed which would make future remodeling plans for an additional bathroom difficult, if not impossible. They credited us for time spent in researching the problem. They also thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. We were very happy with them.
Description of Work: We moved in to our new house and had no water pressure. There were several issues which GPS identified the most significant being a galvanized pipe that had not been replaced (when the interior plumbing had been upgraded) from the main to the house.

We contacted GPS Plumbing which was a referral to us from another friend. He picked up the phone when we called and gave us an estimate which included code upgrades that were needed (the several other companies we contacted wanted more for the code upgrades). They were very clean and professional to work with, we would definitely use them again.
