40 years of experience

Northwest Nuisance Wildlife Control is a nuisance wildlife trapping company with 30 years experience that WPC purchased. We will trap nuisance wildlife wherever your need arises. NNWC specializes in live trapping. WPC employs 3 trappers who are fully licensed by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. This is the agency licensing requirement to be able to trap nuisance wildlife legally in the state of Washington. Nuisance wildlife includes: raccoons, opossum, squirrels, beaver, mountain beaver, nutria, muskrats, river otter and bats to name the most common nuisance animals. A very common misconception is that it is legal to use body gripping traps to trap moles. Although many companies still use body gripping traps on moles it is not a legal method of trapping. There is no ambiguity to this; rather it is a fact that can be confirmed by contacting the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Remember Northwest Nuisance Wildlife Control for all your nuisance wildlife trapping needs!

"AVOID this company if you value your time and money. $700 and 2 months later, and my squirrel problem is exactly the same as it was when they started. Search for “Northwest Nuisance Wildlife Control” (their other name) and read the reviews there for more accurate descriptions of their services. A tip: if they reassure you that their methods are reliable and work well, just know that’s NOT TRUE for everyone, and they’ll do absolutely nothing to help you after you’ve already sent them the set-up fees. They caught one squirrel that wasn’t even one of the ones that live in my attic, and left it in the trap a full 24 hours before picking it up, which made all the other squirrels avoid the traps from then on. I’m holding back tears as I write this, because I feel so confused, frustrated and misled, as I try to WFH while listening to the squirrels running around in my attic. Note that the employees I’ve interacted with are friendly and kind. But the company’s management and approach to pest trapping are totally lacking and unhelpful."

Welcome to the Classic Family: over 25 years experience & a consecutive Angi Super Service award winner! Classic Pest Control & Insulation delivers peace of mind when you need it most. Specializing in Rodents, Insects, Insulation, Crawl space & Attic repair work - We've got you covered. Serving King, Snohomish, Skagit, Island, San Juan, and Whatcom counties in Washington State. Give us a call and let us know how we can help serve you.

"Wow. I have used Classic for 8 years, both for insulation and pest control. They were great to work with and did a consistently good job for a reasonable fee. As a text from them today requested, I called to reschedule a service call. The person who answered identified himself as the owner, and indicated he was “back” because he didn’t like the way the company was being run. Because I wanted my service to include a crawlspace inspection of the rodent traps that they put in - something that is part of the service they have always done — and that I pay for — said I was being too rigid and he didn’t want me as a customer. Again, wow."

Stop Bugging Me Pest Control is a locally owned and operated service company located in Seattle WA. We offer guaranteed pest control solutions for residential and commercial customers in the greater Puget Sound. At Stop Bugging Me we take an integrated management approach to pest control pulling from years of training and expertise to address your specific issues. Our staff will take your call and work with you to first identify the problem. We will then ask specific questions about your situation and give you a quote based on the information you provide and the square footage of your home. When the technician arrives, he will discuss strategies and follow our exclusive programs to eliminate the problem and leave you with useful recommendations for future control.

"The MOST UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE CALL, EVER! A twenty-something, long dark-haired guy showed up (no name, as he wouldn’t give it to me). He came in, asked me where the ant problem was. I showed him the trail, collection and path. I told him that I was recovering from pneumonia and didn’t have much voice left, so to “bear with me.” He walked away and told me that he disagrees with me. I questioned, “what do you mean? Why would you be contrary, while I’m telling you our issue-the townhouse neighbor and us, have been passing the ants, back and forth, for 7 years. He told me I was wrong, and they all just hatched. I responded that we had treated our home for ants FOUR times, in the last 6 months. When showing him the area where we saw an ant hill, he was belligerent and condescending, asking me, “is it an ant hill or just a few ants?” I told him I was from the country and knew what an ant hill and ants looked like. This is where it went terribly disrespectful, condescending and offensive. He asked me, “so what kind of ants are these?” I responded, “beg your pardon? They are obviously sugar ants. Why am I being asked that?” He then smirked and said, “how do you know they are sugar ants? How can you tell?” I told him that I didn’t appreciate being called a liar, with regard to our issue and tested, as to my knowledge of ants. He responded, “well, you’re the expert!” I could not believe what I was hearing! Who was this person, to come into my home and disrespect me, in such a manner? I wonder if his behavior would have been the same, if it were my husband, he was dealing with. Every time I attempted to speak and explain our insect issue, he would interrupt me, with a rude and contrary statement. He pulled out our kitchen counter items, spotting a busy ant area. He began to spritz the area. I explained that the connected unit would get ants in their kitchen and within hours, I had them in my kitchen and back and forth we went. He dismissively questioned my honesty in stating that he questioned that happening. Again, I was so offended, I wanted to cry. On top of being sick, I had this guy insulting me, in my home! I told him there were also ants in the living and offered to show him where they were, he said, “nope, don’t need to see it.” What? I said to him, I’m not sure what’s going on here, but I don’t appreciate your continued insulting and interruption, when I am sick and trying to get this problem rectified. He, again, insulted me in saying, “well, I know I was out here a few times, and you wouldn’t let us in your place.” I responded, “I have never met you, nor have I ever requested pest services and denied entry. You are literally making that up and you know it.” He smirked and said argumentatively, “well, I’m sure it was you.” I told him, “I don’t appreciate you making up stories, in order to somehow justify that this ant problem has not been rectified. It’s completely inappropriate and unprofessional.” He again smirked. At this point, I told him, “Please just get this handled. I’m very sick and need to lie down.” The most shocking and unprofessional behavior yet? Here it comes…he picked up his bag, walked to the front door and said, “I’m leaving. Your grouchy and rude and let me know when you’re in a better mood and I may come back. Good God, I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I said to him, “this is ridiculous. You don’t get to tear my kitchen apart and then leave, without doing the job? No one is giving you a hard time. What is the matter with you?” He walked out the door. I asked after him, “can you at least leave the ant traps?” He did not even both to turn around and said, “Nope! I didn’t even bring em’.” Wow! He sat out in his truck, for 25 minutes, before pulling off. I am contacting the BBB, the complex management, where we live, and the company owner. The behavior of this pest control representative, made this 59 year old, sick woman, feel disrespected, insulted, discriminated against and verbally abused. This type of behavior, especially inside someone’s home, where you are a guest, cannot happen. I’m not generally intimidated, but felt very unsafe, with this pest guy. It is now the middle of the night, and, with pneumonia, I had to clean up the ants and disinfect the area, that he left unattended, and still have ants, all over my kitchen. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. I am sure your company does not advocate for this type of black mark on your reputation and look forward to hearing from you regarding this unprofessional experience."

Animal removal services FAQs

DIY animal removal is rarely a good idea and is not advised for many reasons. First, these types of animals can carry diseases and, therefore, pose a health risk to you, your family, and your pets if mishandled. Second, depending on your city or municipality, it may be illegal to remove or handle wildlife yourself.

Sealing your home against these animals yourself is also a bad idea. Trapping an animal under your house will cause odor and insect problems when it passes away.

Pest control is not the same as animal removal. Pest control specialists treat for insects and bugs, often by using chemicals. Animal removal specialists try to avoid chemicals if possible and instead work to trap and move the animal that's causing problems.

Since each expert has their own removal methods, it's best to contact a pest control professional for insects and bugs and an animal control specialist for other animals.

Animal removal specialists specialize in removing critters and wildlife from in and around your home. These include:

  • Bats

  • Birds

  • Groundhogs

  • Moles and voles

  • Opossums

  • Mice and rats

  • Raccoons

  • Skunks

  • Squirrels

The specialist's method to remove these critters will depend on the animal. For example, groundhogs will be live-trapped and relocated, whereas, for birds, the expert will remove and discard the inactive nest and sanitize the area.

You might be tempted to call your local municipality to remove animals from your property, such as a groundhog burrowing in your yard or raccoons getting into your trash cans. However, they typically only remove domestic animals like dogs and cats from properties, or sick and injured wildlife that pose a public safety risk or health threat, such as a rabid animal. They typically do not capture or remove healthy wildlife.

Animal removal professionals have the tools, knowledge, and skills to trap and remove wild animals adequately and humanely. They also can relocate them correctly.

Professional animal removal costs between $200 and $600 for average homeowners. However, depending on the type and number of critters removed, this cost could range from $85 to $1,400

This cost does not include the cost of home damage caused by the animal, which could be as low as $300 for minor drywall repair or as much as $15,000 for crawl space cleaning and restoration.
