Installer was on time and accomplished the work in the time provided by the estimate.

After appraisal representative was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done, even though we did not use there service they made sure that we understood what needed to be done and even contacted me later to make sure that the job was done properly.

They were the only ones of all the ones we contacted so far that we've had any luck with. The quote itself was very hard to decide for because it had all the separate aspects of the quote but it didn't have exactly related to our roof. My husband had to call them and clarify how to read the quote. It came out with the stuff that we needed would be about $9500. It was a little bit hard to decide because in the quote area the total estimate there was nothing written there and then it had all the break down with all the separate things we could have done. We kind of had to figure out what may be we needed for our own roof rather than them saying this is what they recommend so it was a little hard to follow. I know we got a hold of them and they were backed up which is understandable. They said they would get back to us and I don't think we even waited two weeks. The guy all of a sudden called me and said he was in the area and if he could come over. He did show up. He was a nice man and he said he would give us the quote through the mail in a couple of days which he did. It actually came in through email and that was when my husband called them back to clarify what it really meant. To have to call them back again, it was little frustrating specially with contractors it's hard to get them to respond but my husband did get a lady on the phone that was able to answer his questions. His name was Dave and he was very professional. He came to the door, spoke with me and let me know that he was going to go up on the roof so he just didn't start climbing all over our house. We want to get three different bids before we could decide.

We got 4 estimates and Star Roofing was in the middle of the lowest and highest bidder. The lowest bidder was know for taking a very long time to complete work, so we decided to pay a little more and get the job done in a timely manner. Star Roofing began the job on August 7, and completed it by August 11. We also chose Star because they are certified by Certainteed as Shingle Masters, which means they are trained and authorized to install the Certainteed Presidential Tri-Laminate shingles with Certainteed's lifetime warranty. The roofing crew worked long hours each day and cleaned up every evening. They didn't damage any of our numerous plants. The new roof looks great. We are very happy with the job they did and how much better our home looks.

The bid was difficult to read (poor format) and confusing. I had to pull out a calculator to add up how much the bid costs because there was no subtotals or grand total on the bid. Overall, this alone was so annoying. I sent him an email asking him to answer some questions and give me a total for the bid. It took him a long time to get back to us and only sent us an email saying call us so we can answer any questions. Overall, we did not want to get a bid, because two other highly rated contractors had already given us a bid around $3,000 less.

They did a good job. I went with Star Roofing because they had a better rating on Angie's List. We felt more comfortable with Star because of the rating. I was happy with the work. It was good quality work.

We sincerely believe that Star Roofing should be the first call made when needing a new roof. Several things about this company impressed us ? from the first call we placed to inquire about their services to the clean-up when the job was complete to the final inspection. Everyone (from the owner to the estimator to the office staff) was not only professional but extremely responsive to our questions and needs. They didn?t try to sell us add-ons that we didn?t need but would have added substantially to the cost; they simply recommended precisely what met our needs, and we couldn?t be happier with the outcome ? the color, the quality of workmanship and roofing materials, the care the roofing crew took to protect our plantings and walkways from falling debris, the steady pace they maintained from start to finish, and the impeccable clean-up ? all exceeded our expectations. This is the second time that we had to replace a roof, and we were amazed to find the crew laying down tarps around the perimeter of the house to make sure that falling shingles and nails didn?t end up on the ground, the deck, or in the flowerbeds. It was such a pleasure working with Star Roofing and watching the able crew bring added beauty to our home. Several of our neighbors commented on the efficiency of the crew and the beauty of our new roof. We owe it all to Star because we took every suggestion. We feel so fortunate that we were placed in such capable hands. We wouldn?t consider using anyone else!

It was hard to get responses, like bids. (Other companies were worse.) The repair itself was done nicely and neatly. Clean up was perfect. A small section of gutter was replaced poorly (went up hill). They offered to fix it, but I told them I would do it. Now I wish that I had them fix it.

"40 year" roof failed after 17 years resulting in multiple leaks, despite regular maintenance. Installer (Allied Roofing) came multiple times to (unsuccessfully) repair leaks. Manufacturer's Warranty claim for the GAF Elk shingles was denied and findings suggested improper installation. Multiple roofers recommended a total replacement, including plywood, and indicated leaks were due to poor workmanship but could not offer specifics until shingles were removed. The estimators (all from Angie's List) were sympathetic and gave suggestions for addressing the workmanship issues. Allied Roofing denied responsibility and offered only to reroof the 6 current areas of leakage (which was soon followed by a 7th). I chose Star Roofing because John Lewin quoted the job based on varying levels of work that could only be determined after removing shingles; by discounting the cost for replacement plywood; and offering a generous warranty. He also worked with the Manufacturer?s rep of GAF (who had also inspected my roof) for a discount, even though he usually installs Certainteed. Since I had already been getting prices for new (covered) gutters, I asked John to bid them as a separate item. When his bid came out higher, he agreed to beat a lower price, even though he had already given me a discounted price on the roof. His crews were prompt, quick, and clean, and I am confident in the quality of their work. I am very grateful to John Lewin and his team at Star Roofing for demonstrating a generous spirit and offering encouragement in an otherwise discouraging situation.

Received bid as requested. Explained the work to be done. Upon acceptance they scheduled work and kept to the schedule. They then returned to go over the project and insure we were satisfied.

We contacted Star Roofing, they visited our home initially to meet us, then later came back with their bid and explained all costs and guarantees. After deciding to go with Star Roofing, they started the project within a weeks time, and finished one day sooner than expected. The roofers, arrived on time and worked long steady days. Each day the roofers cleaned up before they left. The roof was inspected during the roofing and after it's completion. We are very pleased with Star Roofing, their cost and professionalism.

They did an acceptable job. They didn’t clean up loose nails with magnets. I don’t like the looks of the finished roof. The crew didn’t have anyone we could ask questions to in English.

We needed a new roof on our barn/shed and didn't want to put too much money into it. Star Roofing gave us a very fair bid and promptly went to work. They didn't try and push a lot of extras and accessories as they were aware we were on a tight budget. They did a great job and we are extremely happy with the new roof. A+++++ service. Will use Star Roofing when our home needs a new roof.

Repairman was very professional and showed photos of the problem with an estimate of the repairs needed. Got the job done right away. Will definitely use Star Roofing for any other roof service I may need, including replacement.

They were very professional. Did entire job in one day. They worked very hard and cleaned up very well. I was impressed by the professionalism during entire process from estimate to completion.

I would use their services in the future.

We were very pleased with their work. The roofing workers were very efficient and here on time. They did their work diligently and cleaned up nice. They took extra time to make sure they did everything right.

They were fabulous. They quoted us an appropriate amount. They did really good work. They worked with our contractors on the back end for them to finish up stuff. Then the roofing guys came back out and did the flash and did all the fancy business to finish things up. They were really good. We were fairly happy and they came right at their quote as well. It may have been few hundred bucks cheaper. They did a good job for us. I am from the construction background and I can see the level of work they did and it was quality work. They took three days to do the flat roof then they had a couple of days off while our framers were back on some stuff. Then they came back out and finished things up in short order. They left everything in a good state. They generally did a very good job. Their professionalism was outstanding. They did not leave a mess. They were quick and efficient. They were more than happy to work with other professionals who were doing associated work. Price wise they came on quote or a little bit under. We had three other quotes and they had the best quote of the lot. Given that they did a fabulous job. As for responsiveness they co-ordinated well with our framers to get some stuff done. They were very professional. Out of curiosity I had questions for them and they answered them without being put off. Some people are grumpy if you talk to them while they are working. There was one guy who was doing relatively a small job but he was really good. I will indeed use them in the future.

They did a good job. They were on time and polite. We had a small problem on the roof line. They sent people out to look at it. They responded very well. Although there wasn't a whole lot we could do about it since it was a reroof, they did their best. The roof came out looking fine.

It was a pleasurable experience from start to finish and follow-up. The Star staff were courteous, professional, detail-oriented, and, most importantly, highly skilled and talented. And, the Star lead, Rob Shouse, performed above and beyond the call of duty; simply stated, he listened to his customer and responded accordingly.

From start to finish the roofing was just as expected, and all dealings with Star Roofing were great.

I had a representative come out to my home from this company, and they submitted an estimate several days later. Unfortunately the estimate was very vague and ambiguous....I have had a number of bad experiences in the past with vague and ambiguous contracts. I e-mailed this company twice asking for them to revise the estimate. Never heard anything back. Obviously not interested in customer satisfaction and obviously oblivious to word of mouth regarding their lack of responsiveness. I wouldn't do business with a company that treats potential customers that way

Our experience was great. They were very prompt with the estimate and installation of new gutters for our house. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Overall the roof replacement project went very well. Andrew came to our house at the appointed time and provided several estimate options for our roof. We selected the desired option and were given an estimated start date. The weather had not been conducive (raining) for roof replacement, so as soon as there was a small break in the weather the work was scheduled. This was before the originally estimated date. The crew arrived mid-morning on Friday and removed the old roofing. Then the supplier arrived to deliver the new roofing material as Andrew had explained when he provided the estimates. As with most projects there were a few issues, but the crew foreman and Andrew were easy to work with and addressed our concerns. They did not finish the first day and returned Saturday morning before it began to rain again. We thought everything had been completed Saturday, but then we noticed a problem that was forgot about in the rush to beat the weather. I thought this might become a serious problem since the new roof was finished. However, as soon as I contacted Andrew, he assured me this would be resolved. They quickly came back out to address this issue and had to send another crew before this was completely resolved. They were very responsive to ensure we were very satisfied with the results. After everything was completed we were billed the estimated amount. Overall, they did an excellent job and I would definitely recommend them to others.

Spoke with the receptionist on the phone on Friday and tech was out on Monday morning for the estimate. Called my on my cell while he was up on the roof & apprised me of what he found. Said the flashing was in good condition and he caulked a couple of places where there might be a problem. I was impressed that they didn't try & sell me on a new roof (it doesn't need one) and charged me nothing for the inspection and minor caulking job. I will definitely be putting Star at the top of my list for any further problems and also for that big roofing job when it does come due.
