After phone tagging for about a week or more, the person on the phone warned us they may not be interested in repairing; instead replacing the whole roof. A guy finally shows up at the house. He seemed totally uninterested in the job and didn't really seem to know much. Seemed like I was explaining all the problems. He went on the roof. I went back in the house and after about an hour went out to see what was going on. He was gone! The sliding glass door to my house was wide open. No note, no ringing the door bell, no Email or phone call the next day. NOTHING! Still NOTHING! I highly recommend you stay away from these guys!

They did a great job. Had a crew of 7 on my small roof of 1100 sq feet. They were in and out within 7 hours. They were professional, organized and left my property immaculate.

Short and sweet :) He arrived as arranged...was up on the roof and back down in 10 minutes, he explained what he did and was off - received a bill a few days later for $25 less than the minimum they quoted me...which btw, was less than a lot of other roofers I spoke to. My new got-to roofer! :)

The previous morning I noticed water seeping in on my bathroom floor, under a skylight and on an exterior wall. I checked the plumbing and there was no problem so I suspected a problem with the roof or the skylight. I called several roofing companies, but no one could come out earlier than a week to a week and a half. I then called Star Roofing. They did try and come out the same day, but called back and said it was just not possible. I was told they would come out the next day - and they did. The crew not only checked the roof in the problem area, but checked other areas as well. They found the problem - a missing shingle, and fixed it right away. All done in less than 30 minutes. Great service all the way!

I called several roofers on Angie's List for bids. Sam provided the bid and explained that he was normally a crew chief and was not a salesman but he was so polite and responsive. We signed the paperwork and the work began within a few days. He contacted us continually throughout the process to ensure all was going well. The workmanship was excellent. Only took 2 days instead of the estimated 3. The crew was friendly and cleaned up afterward. Best looking roof in the neighborhood and at an excellent price.

I did use them. I had some problems with the gutter but not the roof. They were following up on what they had put on, so, it did not cost me anything. They were very good. They came out, on time, did the estimate, put the roof on, and had no problems with them. I love doing our neighbor too with them. With the other estimates I got, they were very well-priced on top with everybody else.

The crew was good and careful. They did what they said they would do and said what they were going to do. No damage was done to our property during the work. We have had no problems with the roof after 6 months of fall/winter/spring weather. The skylights look nice, work well and do not leak. There was slow response from one of the contacts at Star but great responses from all others. The work appears to be nearly perfect. I have 2 very minor complaints about installation which keep them from being "perfect": 1. They used one cracked sheet of plywood, but I thought it was in a place were that won't matter structurally - so I didn't say anything about it. 2. They didn't sweep sawdust off the tar paper, it got rained on and then shingled over while damp. I'm hoping that the wet sawdust doesn't rot through the tar paper and cause the roof to leak but that seems unlikely. I did mention this after it had been shingled over rather than before so I can't actually complain about it. I'm just saying they are not perfect but pretty close. All in all Star was a very good company to work with and did very good work.

The receptionist who took my call was pleasant. Sure enough Dave Wallin returned my call the next day. He came out to check my roof and provide a quote. He informed me that the work was very minor so he tapped the tiles back in for free. Wow! Now days people charge just for coming out even if work is not needed. This was refreshing. I'm adding his contact info for any future roofing needs.

We really loved the job that Star Roofing did. Dave Wallin came out quickly to give us an estimate when we called. And, was very helpful suggesting what we needed in the way of leaf/pine needle protection, color of gutters, etc.. His crew was right on time, did a quick, professional and thorough job, cleaned up so that you would never know they were there and the gutters work perfectly. THe price was more than fair. We are very happy and have been recommending them to friends.

Sam was super! Very responsive to all my emails! He & Greg came out and gave me a VERY thorough walk through of the issues they thought should be addressed. They explained the issues and processes to fix them. Sam sent me an estimate VERY quickly via email! The pricing seemed very reasonable. Both Sam & Greg were VERY nice & professional, too! I would HIGHLY recommend using them in the future!

Star Roofing did a great job. We had improper attic ventilation on our house from 1937, and knew we needed a new roof. We have a small house and a simple roof- but that didn't change the crazy range in estimates we got from other roofers. We had about 15 other estimates. When we presented our ventilation problems to other roofers, they either gave us very strange answers or gave us high bids. Star Roofing actually knew what they were talking about AND gave us a fair bid. Sam was our project manager and he did a stellar job. They sent someone out right after we inquired, then had Sam come out and present their bid in person. When we asked them how they would do the ventilation they were confident they could get it right- while other roofers seemed unsure. We had old can vents improperly placed on our roof and we weren't getting enough air flow- Star Roofing decided we needed smart vent and ridge vent, which proved to be the right move. Sam is one of those guys who you can tell knows what he is doing, and knows what he is talking about- which is all I really care about when selecting a contractor. Sam was able to answer all our questions, and he closely examined our ventilation and attic insulation issue, then built our roof around it. Some contractors didn't even want to look into our crawl space. Sam came out and met with us on our schedule, was prompt, polite, and made us feel comfortable about getting the job dome right. Star Roofing was able to tear off our old roof and replace it in 2 days. Everything was clean and done well. They even added an extra couple feet of barge board to our front overhang, for free, making our house look really nice. I would highly recommend this company if you want a no hassle, easy going, and smart group of folks putting on your new roof. With so many uneducated roofers out there, it was nice to have a smart company like Star Roofing re-roof our place. Thanks guys!

They did an excellent work. There was one incident where they didn’t show up but that’s because they had an emergency.

Days are short so it took 2 days to get the work done. Excellent work, honest, knowledgeable. I will recommend and will use them again. However a couple of things I wanted to point out. I gave them a B for responsiveness because after I accepted the bid, I was told that they were going to call me in a couple of days to set up the work appointment they are a little busy so the work date will be at least 5 days out. There is no hurry so I said I'll wait for their call. The call never came. I had to call multiple times to both the office and the sales person. A little bit of a hassle that I had to initiate and call multiple times before I received a response. Received the invoice via email and called the office to make a payment by credit card. I was told that they don't take credit payments of more than $500. My invoice was almost $796. Just send a check. After much thought, I called the office again and said I want to pay via credit card. I received the same answer and that normally there is an extra charge if paying by credit card. This is when I said that if I knew that I couldn't pay with a credit card, I would have gone with another company. There is nowhere in their company website, here in Angie's list or yelp that says that Star Roofing cannot charge more than $500 without charging the customers a small percentage to offset the card fees charged to them. This issue was then immediately fixed by allowing me to use my credit card to pay for the work done. Excellent customer service! There is no reason why I shouldn't recommend them. Good job!

It went well. They came out really fast, found the problem and got the job done. Dave was really friendly and great to work with.

They were fantastic. They were so clean, they picked up everything every day. The place is spotless. All their tools were gone, all the tarps were gone. The next day, they would lay it all out again and do it again. Everything is excellent. Their price is right in the ballpark.

It was great. Good communication, the workers showed up on time, got the job done quickly and left the yard the way it was before they showed up.

The estimator and labor crew were very knowledgeable and explained available options and materials. The job was estimated and done within a week. Had trouble finding a contractor willing to work a small job.

The owner was great my husband and I were so happy with the results. They were on time were very clean. After that expereince I recommend Angie's list to everyone for helping me find Star Roofing & Construction.
