"They helped fix an emergency sewage backup issue, but the external clean-out point should have been placed at the back-end corner of the house rather than the front. This placement missed access to the back-end area, which could be necessary if a liner installation is needed later. That said, hindsight is 20/20. They did a reasonable job based on their proposal, but at the time, we didn?t have enough knowledge to request a better plan. One issue I encountered was their tendency to revise estimates upward during the project, which I did not appreciate. Additionally, they were uncertain whether the sewage and storm drainage systems in my area were separate or connected. Compared to other providers I worked with later, this suggested a relative lack of experience or knowledge. Another concern was witnessing one of the workers urinating in the hole they had dug during the process. I found this unacceptable and feel it?s worth noting. The nature of the project changed as the discovery of a septic system, unknown to me, presented a big challenge for their equipment and to me as the homeowner trying to sell the property. Denzyl, the owner, was very kind and patient with me as I tried to understand the implications of their findings. We had to get another company involved and Denzyl went above and beyond to ensure smooth communication and full understanding of the issues was relayed. He and his crewman Dan demonstrated the highest levels of integrity and honesty in their dealings with me and I found it very easy to trust them. They helped turn a stressful situation for me, into a pleasurable one. They gave me a video of the cleared sewer line and cleaned up the crawlspace and worksite before they left. Tankless water heaters are more expensive than those with a storage tank, but they come with some impressive benefits that most homeowners find worth the higher investment. Most importantly, they provide unlimited hot water, so you’ll never run out like you would with a storage tank. Tankless heaters are also more efficient, so comparing gallon-for-gallon, you’ll spend less on hot water with a tankless heater. Tankless water heaters are also smaller, require less maintenance, and tend to last longer than storage tank water heaters.
It usually takes a professional water heater installer between two and three hours to remove an existing water heater and install a new tank heater. However, it could take four to five hours if they have to work in a small utility closet or another tight area, like a crawl space. Additionally, a gas water heater requires a connection to a gas line, and that alone can add about an hour to the installation timeline compared to installing an electric water heater.

Not only will you need to wire your water heater, but you’ll also need to connect plumbing to the intake and outlet. Sweating copper pipes and connecting wiring properly are skills most DIYers don’t have, and even if you do feel confident you can do it, working with water and electricity always leaves the potential for electrocution. Hiring a local water heater installer is well worth the investment.
In most municipalities, a license is not mandatory for water heater installation or replacement. However, we strongly recommend hiring a licensed plumber or water heater installer to handle the work. Licensed installers are far less likely to make a mistake during the installation, which means paying for the experience decreases your risk of a leak and other issues.
