"Complicated and Disappointing. Complicated because Elite Flooring DO NOT list prices on products. Complicated because our design consultant would not tell us what our budget was. The best information given us was "this area is good, this area better, this area best" accurately stated, cheap, moderate, expensive. IF our designer (Tiffany) would have told me from the start our contractor barely provided for the "cheap" I would have spared myself looking at the moderate area only to learn I was thousands over budget!!! Not to mention the 5 trips back to the store to start over. AND STILL WAS NOT GIVEN PRICES OR MY BUDGET. Ultimately selected from cheap area. ( and still had to pay for upgrades) Disappointing because I live in an expensive home ($620,000. before upgrades) with cheap flooring, tile. MOST DISAPPOINTING because of TERRIBLE INSTALLATION!! Wood floors ( 1200 sf) significant buckling in three areas. Squeaks in other areas. Tile work is a hot mess... see pics. CHEAP grout, cracking began within weeks. Every PROFESSIONAL uses an epoxy grout with tile. The counter tops are fine .. although the seal/grout work a mess. The approx cost of service was my upgrade costs. ( i still have no idea what my budget was..) Disappointing because store management is apparently satisfied with quality of installation. Elite Flooring installers are incompetent. see pictures"

"We had major damage from a leaking shower pan and did not want to reinstall the same technology so we contacted Lakewood Countertops about a custom made 4' x 6' Corian shower pan instead of a concrete and tile pan. They sent out a man to measure who arrived quickly and did a good job. The estimate was about $2600 plus tax, about 1/3d less than another company for the same product. They told us it would take about 10 business days but near the end of that time, they called and said they could not find material in the common color we wanted. We chose another similar color that they could get and were told it would take an additional 10 days. The installer was supposed to come on Friday and my general contractor was on site to remove a temporary wall to facilitate the installation. Lakewood called and said their installer had called in sick and could not come that day so my contractor had to reinstall the wall. This cost me about $300 for unnecessary work. When the installers arrived on Monday, they did a great job of installation. A pan that big comes in 2 pieces and has to be glued together with special glue and held under pressure for about an hour. Afterwards, the floor of the pan was sanded and finished so you cannot see the seam. The pan fit perfectly. I am completely pleased with the work and result but not so happy with the overpromise on scheduling."

Installing a marble backsplash costs about $2,200 on average, ranging from $600 to $6,000, depending on the variety of marble and the labor costs to prep and install. Common types of marble used for backsplashes include:
Makrana: $12 per square foot
Pink: $25 per square foot
Carrara: $40 per square foot
Statuatrio: $50 per square foot
Cultured: $65 per square foot
Travertine: $75 per square foot
Danby: $80 per square foot
Calacatta: $180 per square foot
Marble countertops cost $3,000 on average, ranging from about $2,000 to $5,000, depending on the type of marble, square footage, location, and whether you use tiles or slabs. Another major cost factor to consider is the grading of the marble, which determines its quality level.
Use this grading system when selecting marble for countertops:
Grade A: Nearly perfect with subtle veining
Grade B: Minor flaws such as pits, fissures, or blotches
Grade C: Minor and major flaws like chipping and cracks requiring repair
Grade D: Significant damage needing repair, with dark veining and pronounced colors
Granite and marble compare well against each other in terms of price, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Deciding which one is better depends on your personal style and preference. Both materials resist damage like chips and cracks well. You should seal both material types against staining and etching, but they’re still susceptible if oil, wine, coffee, tomato sauce, or juice are left on the countertop long enough. As material and installation costs range similarly, the deciding factor is your budget, design, and preferences.
Installing granite kitchen countertops costs about $3,250, ranging from $2,000 to $4,000, depending on the quantity and quality of the granite, use of granite tile or granite slabs, the type of granite, and its color and texture. Varieties of granite include:
Alaska white: $35 per square foot
Ubatuba: $30–$60 per square foot
Silver cloud: $35–$40 per square foot
Absolute black: $45–$60 per square foot
Black galaxy: $50–$70 per square foot
Blue Louise: $70–$100 per square foot
Crema Bordeaux: $80 per square foot
Solarius: $60 per square foot
Overall, granite tends to cost more than marble. Prices for each material will fluctuate depending on the source of the stone, your location, shipping costs, and the thickness of the material. Labor to install marble or granite countertops typically ranges from $35 to $45 per hour. Granite and marble tile and slab costs compare as follows:
Marble tile: $7–$10
Granite tile: $5–$15
Marble slab: $25–$60
Granite slab: $50–$100
