+ 21 moreI have used Contreras Renovations on a business and personal basis for over 25-years, and have come to appreciate and depend on the quality, pricing, and reliability of Rafael and Hector. They have been punctual, tidy and impecabilly honest. And are actually a lot fun to work with! After I retired, I was elected as the director of buildings and grounds at our condo development. In that capacity I hired Contreras Renovations to remodel our entire development over four-years. I’m delighted to say that after completion we are enjoying a beautiful restored community thanks to this Rafael and Hector at Contreras Renovations. I highly recommend this company.

Conscientious, always concerned about how I want The finish job to look. I highly recommend them, and I will be using them again in the future

+ -1 moreHe is awesome. I loved how he worked with us. He listened to us. He was patient. He did what we wanted. If we asked for his opinion, he helped us. He was awesome and was really good with my husband. He made sure everyone was working at all the time. He was a good leader. If they were low in ordering something, he made sure they were doing another job; he made sure they didn’t waste time. I would highly recommend him. He was excellent. Their price was really good. I would absolutely use them in the future.

I asked him about some other work because I have another project that I wanted to do including kitchen and bathroom remodel and the bathroom included adding a shower, and I asked him about getting a permit for it and he said that he would just do the work and not worry about the permit. I thought it was odd because I was pretty sure that you need a permit to add a shower to the bathroom. That was one of the reasons why I didn't pursue that as a project with them. Otherwise everything was fine.
Description of Work: I had R and S Construction come out and give me a quote for a project probably 5 months ago. Basically he was going to add insulation to my entire basement and change out 2 windows in the basement.

+ 1 moreThe men arrived on time and did quality work. They were very knowledgeable and professional with good communication while at my home. A bit difficult to get in touch with them by telephone but not a big deal in my case as I was not in a big rush to complete the work. Overall a very good experience given that the price was quite acceptable and the quality of work was first rate. These people were professionals that communicated well and were very interested in making sure we were satisfied with the proposed plan of work prior to starting.
Description of Work: Repair drywall and baseboard damage due to moisture. Complete interior painting of one bedroom. Modification of utility room wall and ducting and repair/mounting of bi-fold doors enclosing utility room.

+ 6 moreWe just kept adding more projects to Rafael's original remodel. He did such a great job on the first two projects for such a reasonable price that we hired him to do two more. His team was polite and respectful of our space. He kept very close to the estimated time of completion. Rafael is a master at design. He listened to what we wanted and made it happen. I have received many complements on what he did for us. Our house has never looked better.
Description of Work: R&S Construction remodeled our master bath,completed our roughed in bath, built an extra bedroom and added stairs and additional decking to our house.

+ 0 moreRafael came to the house to find out what I needed and gave me his ideas. He said he was busy but could probably do this job in a couple weeks, along with another job in the area. A couple weeks later he called with the estimate and said he could be there the next morning. He and his assistant showed up on time and did a very nice job and cleaned up after themselves. Rafael seems to have a large crew available, because when he built the staircase there were 6 or 7 guys. He is very busy, but when he is able to fit your job in the schedule he gets it done.
Description of Work: Rafael designed, built, and installed a wooden handrail along my outdoor cement block staircase. The uprights were well grounded with cement and/or steel bolts. Understanding that this was an utilitarian application he came up with a much less expensive and simple railing than I had in mind. Rafael built the cement staircase a few years ago. I was extremely happy with the result. He is very creative in finding simple inexpensive solutions and using materials on hand in addition to purchased materials. His work is priced right.

+ -1 moreNot comfortable with having to ask for written bid several times, punctuality a concern and very surprised Mr. Contreras did not provide us with addresses or photos of other work he had already done when we requested it.
Description of Work: I contacted Mr. Contreras and he agreed to come out in the evening after 5pm. When he did not show and did not call, I contacted him and he said he had forgotten. He apologized and agreed to come at 9am the next morning. Even though he lives in the same area as I do, he had difficulty finding my home. He arrived about 50 minutes late. We talked about the 2 projects I wanted done and he said he would email me the bid within 2 days. After 3 days of no bid, I called him and he said he was having problems with his computer and gave me a verbal over the phone for the 1st job and he would throw in the 2nd job free. I again requested a written estimate and he said he would put it in my mailbox. I also asked him for photos or addresses of other jobs and he never committed to either. After not receiving the written bid a week later, I called Mr. Contreras and he said he was now too busy with other jobs to do mine.

+ 0 moreTHE CREW APPEARED ON SATURDAY MORNING AND WORKED ALL DAY. THEY DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH BUT SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN GIVEN EXPLICIT DIRECTIONS. THE OWNER APPEARED AT THE END OF THE FIRST DAY TO OVERSEE THE JOB. THIS WAS A DIRTY, HEAVY JOB WHICH THEY COMPLETED IN A COUPLE SATURDAYS. THEY DID A GREAT JOB. THE OWNER RETURNED AFTER THE FINAL PAYMENT TO ADJUST ONE LOOSE STEP. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK. THE PRICE WAS THE BEST AROUND.
Description of Work: AN OLD CINDERBLOCK SLOPED WALKWAY WAS REMOVED AND REBUILT USING LARGE BRICKS FOR STEPS AND PAVERS. THE WALKWAY IS MUCH MORE ATTRACTIVE AND SAFER. AN OLD SMALL PORCH WAS REMOVED AND A LARGER ONE WAS BUILT AND A ROOF ADDED. THE OWNER WAS ABLE TO ENVISION AND EXECUTE HIS PLAN WITH NOTHING ON PAPER. TWO 6 X 6 SUPPORT BEAMS FOR THE DECK WERE REPLACED. HE WAS ABLE TO REUSE SOME OF THE MATERIALS FROM THE OLD WALKWAY IN AN EFFORT TO SAVE ME SOME MONEY.
