In the most recent case (March 2014), we called South County to install a dishwasher for us. This is the third dishwasher we've had in this house over 20+ years, and we've never had a problem before. But this time, the store's installer said he couldn't install it without rerouting the drain system at a cost almost equal to the dishwasher itself, which hadn't been inexpensive. We called South County and made an appointment for the next day. They arrived on time, found they could hook the dishwasher to the existing system and did so. While they were here, they also fixed a laundry faucet with a very slow leak, and replaced an outdoor faucet -- all for less than we expected to pay for the dishwasher installation. And when it developed the next day that the dishwasher had an almost invisible leak, they came out immediately and fixed that at absolutely no charge to us. (We didn't even have to ask.) We also used them last fall when we had a sewer line break. Apparently the heavy rains were contributing to sewer line breaks all around our area, but South County came out promptly, diagnosed the problem (a disintegrating pipe between our house and the city's line), took what stopgap measures they could and came back promptly with a backhoe and several workers. They not only fixed the problem, they instructed us on the best inexpensive way to avoid a recurrence.

I called South County Plumbing Inc. for an emergency repair. They came out to repair, and fixed everything. However they never gave me a initial quote or estimate regarding the emergency claim I made. Two days prior South County Plumbing Inc. was at my house fixing another issue. Before they started any work at that time, they gave us an estimate as to how much we would be paying. However, when it is an emergency, their price was double the cost, and I was never notified prior to fixing my issues. Once all repairs were done, I was surprised at how much his service/labor cost, especially since they never notified me of their "emergency rate". This company did fix all my repairs, and I was satisfied with the work that was completed. However, I am complaining that I was never given an estimate before they started any work.

It took him an hour and a half to fix this problem because he was having trouble finding the shut off valve. To this day we are still having issues with it. That being said, the issue is still not fixed up to my expectations. The materials cost $49.75 and labor was cost $237.50.

I called South County plumbing after a hard freeze that left a deck faucet pouring hot water (I guess it was once used for a long-gone hot tub). Norman came out the same evening (after dark) and looked it over. He got it down to a small trickle & scheduled to return the next day. He didn't charge me for the first visit, which was very nice. He arrived on time the next day, and cut & capped the faucet and also noticed our hot water heater needed new valves & had never been earthquake strapped (something our home inspector missed!), so he fixed those issues as well. He was courteous, worked quickly, and we felt the price was fair for the amount of work done. However... I also asked him for an estimate on repairing a bathroom faucet that currently leaks when the cold water is on. He instead quoted me a price for replacing the faucet & push up at just over $300 (including labor). Ouch. Then I mentioned the toilet's float valve had stopped working and wouldn't turn the water off when flushing, but instead of giving me a price on that repair he tried to sell me a whole new toilet!!! His estimate for both items was over $600. I passed on that, and fixed the float valve myself for $13 and about 10 minutes of my time. I tried to take the faucet apart to install my inexpensive repair kit, but couldn't get the faucet handle to come off. It's been on a LONG time, and would_not_budge, so I may indeed buy a new faucet myself, and then have South County Plumbing install it for me. I figure the cost of labor will be well worth it after seeing how difficult it was to even try removing the handle! Overall I think South County is a solid plumbing service, and I'll call on them again when I need some help!

We are remote landlords. Our property manager handled both jobs. SCP knows we aren't there so they kept us up to date by phone.

I called the company today with my tale of woe concerning our master bath commode. They dispatched a plumber within an hour of my call. The plumber was very polite. He came in, listened to my problem, and took a look at the situation. He determined that snaking the line would be in order. That is what he did and problem with the toilet was fixed. It flushed as it should. It took maybe all of 30 minutes. He had to charge me the minimum rate. Which was $95/hour. I sure would like to potentially make $190/hour... However, he fixed the problem, left no mess, got to me promptly and I have no complaints otherwise. I will use them again.

They did a great job and are very trustworthy. Very happy with their work, and will hire them again when I have the chance. Thanks, guys!

He did such a complete and thorough job. He got everything done in one day and came on very short notice. He is very flexible with payment options. He was wonderful. The plumbing works like a charm! I would certainly recommend him!!

Their representative visited to inspect our leaking heater; gave us a quote on replacement and then ordered and installed a replacement heater. All work was done on a timely basis. They cleaned up nicely and departed.

They came out very promptly when our water heater died. They told us very frankly that they can repair it or we can get a new one. We asked for a new one. They were here the next day. The installation was great. The price was reasonable. We didn't even have to shop around.

I called for a quote on replacing my kitchen garbage disposal and the team sent out Chris, the same day! He was very professional, explained exactly what he was doing, why and what not to send down a garbage disposal. While he was out he also unclogged the drain from the adjacent sink basin and explained how that usually gets clogged. Although I'd pre-purchased a new garbage disposal, Chris let me know the differences in the old model versus the new one he was installing. I would totally recommend South Sound Plumbing!!

Saw water spouting from the ground near the sprinkler system main valve, called Sound County Plumbing late in the afternoon to help stop the water break. They came out immediately turned off the water at the street, found the pipe break caused by a tree root, It took them about two hours to dig and replace the pipe. They did not charge an after hour service call or any other misc charges, was very professional and demonstrated skills to fix the problem. Have not had any issues since

South County Plumbing did the repairs in about 3 hours time. They were efficient, pleasant, and not at all disruptive to our household activities. They will be my plumber of choice for future plumbing problems.

All (6) companies that bid were slow to respond. Norman is professional & very likeable, pleasant to work with.

When I went out to check on their progress the one fellow was in his truck rummaging around for something. The inside of the truck was a mess, and I wasn't surprised he couldn't find anything. My advice would be to avoid them like the plague.

The toilet was leaking in the upstairs bathroom. We didn't know why so we called a plumber. The first day, the plumber came out, he found a crack in the tank in back and recommended that I purchase a new toilet. The toilet was at least 20 years old. He recommended a certain type and I agreed to purchase that type for $150 plus 1 hour of labor. He said he would be back the next day with the toilet and he would install it. The next day South County Plumbing sent a different plumber. So I had to start over with explanations, charges etc. This plumber removed the toilet then informed me that he couldn't install the new toilet because the hole of the new toilet was different than the old one and the flooring had to be adjusted. He recommended that he come out the next day, after we had fixed the flooring which would have been three service calls that in my opinion should have been completed with one. He fixed the aerator on the kitchen faucet and attempted to repair the leaking faucet in the back yard but could not because he said he needed the part (another reason for another service call). All this talk of additional service calls made my husband angry so he installed it himself. Like the guy said, it didn't fit the hole and again leaked all over. Now I am in the exact place I was when I called them, a toilet that leaks. As well, I am stuck with a toilet that doesn't fit, mold smell coming up from the drain in the toilet, the back faucet still leaks and I have to buy a new toilet and have it installed by a plumber.

brilliantly. I called South County in the morning and explained the problem to Larry. He promised to send someone that afternoon. Geoff arrived around 2 and had the problem fixed by 4. He replaced pipes and parts, snaked the drains and reworked systems . All of this was supposedly done before I moved in, but had been done so poorly! Geoff really saved the day! I will always use them!

He identified the problem quickly, and gave me economical solutions to fix it. He was very nice and professional. I couldn't get any work done because it was going to cost more than I was able to pay right now. He gave me his card and I will use him again. He was very friendly.
